- ‘Happy Republic Day’ in a couple of days, Dosto?
The Republic Day of India is the celebration of our constitution. Our constitution stands for the idea and the vision of India. The foundation (or buniyaad) on which our country is (or was supposed to be) built. The values or the direction that a young nation like India wanted to work towards are documented in our constitution. (Please take some time to read the preamble and understand the meaning of the words used in it.)
Today when the constitution and its values are being undermined almost every day, does it not feel odd to celebrate the day when we promised ourselves that we would stand by these principles? Like celebrating a wedding anniversary by separated spouses- Our constitution and us. Or is it just another public holiday then?
The living spirit of our constitution (and hence the celebration called Republic Day) lies in the actions we take, based on it, every day. Not by sending WhatsApp forwards or sitting in front of our screens and watching a parade alone. This is a nazm-numa-letter to our Prime Minister. I showed this to a few of my friends and one commented - “This may make you look like you are against Modi, not a good idea.” To that I must clarify- I am pro-India and pro-constitution and consider it my job as a citizen to highlight to our PM, in all earnestness, what I think we need to do, and to follow the promises we made in the constitution to ourselves. This is what we celebrate on 26th January. Democracy.
If we are still a liberal democracy, my message should not offend anyone; if we are less than a democracy, the message is needed even more.
Either way, Happy Republic Day, Dosto. May we live up to the promises we made to ourselves.

Sir I always follow your posting and try to circulate as many as group possible. But this one I will not circulate. You said please visit nearby villages. Because of my travelling nature I go extra mile to see our rural life and interact with them. Stay with them and also have their meal. These are some of the changes of the last 7 years I have seen: i. MNERGA directly credit to your personal account. ii. Upgradation of Primary and Secondary School with toilets. iii. Proper concrete roads iv. Improvement in mid day meals v. Closure of Benami Schools vi. Skill Development -Electrician, Carpentry, Masonry etc vii. Widow Pension. (I covered West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. And also input from UP after Yogi Government-This is from my friend of last 40 years and from other community). You raised the issue of different religion etc. These are my experience not views.
These are such wonderful changes, and I am glad to hear of all this. India is too wide for any of us to generalise or change over a few years, we are still an extremely poor country...Having said that, the reason I wrote what I did, is to highlight the intolerance evident in our country now. Would you agree that we have started to marginalise and scare our minorities? And that this is not how we felt earlier?
All Government schemes are older than the stipulated 7 years you give them :)
@@chandaasani9044 It may be older than 7 years. But earlier who were real beneficiaries and now who is getting it? After AADHAR linked many benami schools were closed. See the development of rural areas: internal road, water supply, improvement in electricity supply etc. Interlinking of Seven Sisters. Now days I see better future than earlier.
@@VineetPanchhi Sir debate is too long. Everything has two sides. I always prefer walking in the middle path. My life cycle : Early child hood(Remote Village Complete cut of from city), After that Kasba, After that Bigger Town and Now living in Mahanagar. Now also I am very fond of my village. The best change: The present central government efforts for girl's education. And I can see the changes. This will make better society.
Sad, and trust we will not allow this hell in our land... Thank you for speaking up 👏👏🍀

Lata ji, ye bhi meri hi kahi hui baat hai...aur desh ke hit mein hai. Main samajh sakta hun, ki ye sabko pasand nahi aayegi. Par ispar manthan zuroor keejiyega. Main apne kaam ko sirf entertainment ki tarah nahi dekhta. Agar mujhe koi baat pareshaan karti hai, toh ye mera farz hai ke main aapke saamne rakhu. Main ye zuroor janana chahunga, ki na-pasandi ke bawajood, kya aap meri baat se sehmat hain? Pranam.
Idea of all being one is good but . Is it a reality, chek it out what is happening all over.
@@latadixit3548 Lata ji, it is not so much about "all being one" in terms of wealth, position, social status and so on as it is about being one in freedom of individual rights, of the right to justice, to compassion, for freedom to peacefully practice what each believes in......Surely this is possible if our hearts are in the right place? If we truly understand what spirituality is all about?
Vineet ji, thank you for this wonderfully inspiring message. As Indians in general and human beings in particular, we need to take a hard look at where our moral character seems to be going, a of us regardless of our religion or political affiliations. Utter moral bankruptcy will do us in, that's the real danger.
