Fantastic vlog Christian. Fenwick looks like an excellent hickory course - and the homes surrounding it make for some nice viewing. Great to see the Kelly Leonard McEwan replica in play. You're making some fine shots with it!
Thanks, Brad! It really is a nine-hole gem that's frozen in time, in all the good ways. I forgot to mention in the course vlog that Katherine Hepburn's family owned the large house that was on the right side of the second hole. Just a fun little bit of history. And yeah - I was getting along pretty well with Kelly's club in this round. I need to watch again how I did that because I've been losing my mojo with it as of late.
Thanks - happy to hear that! I put a lot of effort into making sure I’m capturing as much of the course as I can as far as the angles are concerned. That’s why I ultimately don’t mind if I end up in a bunker or other tight spot if it shows more of the course than a better player would see.
Great video on another great looking course. I've played those limited flight balls and they are short!! loved your positive spin on the bunker sequence.
Thanks, Martin! Believe it or not, I was actually happy I ended up in there to show what it’s like. It’s the most interesting green complex on the course and it wouldn’t have been a proper course tour if I didn’t show that bunker. Next time I play there, though, I’m going to go out of my way to avoid it! 😂
Always fun to watch these course videos. I'm sure the hurried start and the 10 set a tone of unsureness on some shots. Fun to watch though so I'm going back for a second look. Nice one Christian.
Thanks as always for watching! And yeah - rushing through the first hole isn’t the best way to set the tone for the round. I wasn’t sure when I was going to be able to get back down there to film, though, so it was more important to me that I focus on capturing the course rather than score well.
@@TheHickoryHackerChristian, I don't know if you have seen this, I just found this video from 1963 featuring Francis Ouimet on the 50th anniversary of his US Open victory. This is the first time I actually saw him featured in any film or interview. He walks and talks a couple of key holes on the course. Happy US Open Day! th-cam.com/video/yTc8T099yvc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Christian, another really interesting video. LOVE the gutty play. Hopefully, we can play a round in the coming months (Goodwin - short course maybe?). 😁

Very good putting. You kept your putting down to 2 strokes.
Thanks, Al! I seem to get along really well with that Park putter despite its 13 degrees of loft.
Take a breakfast ball on that first Tee 😂😂
Yeah, I wanted to but the starter was breathing down my neck when he saw me set up the camera. 😂
Love me some gutty golf, great video!
Thanks! I’ve been playing more gutty golf than anything else this season so far. Several more videos coming up.
Thanks for showing this one, you really get a sense of the course with your videos!

@@TheHickoryHacker Hahaha, I guess I was appreciating the fact that you show the courses the way I usually see them!
Keep the Gutty’s coming! Next time I head to Mystic for a long weekend that course is now on the list!
Yeah, you definitely need to play here. You’ll love it!

Dude, go to your local golfers warehouse. Your clubs are WAY too old!
😂The older the better!
