Interesting video. You should use guyline hitches on the top and bottom guys. Makes tensioning the guys easier and shorter, less tripping hazard. I do like the extra set of poles for the awning but I prefer to use the bike and a slack line on one end just in case it rains and the water can drain off. VERY interesting tip about the boots, I'll try that next time.
Thanks for the tip about the guy line hitches 😊 The poles that we used have three sections and we do the same on one side by removing a section so the rain can run off ... Thanks for watching 👍
These seem to be a good idea but look very bulky when packed and small when pitched, what do they weigh ? they look heavy for the size. I think I prefer separate tent, sleeping pad (inflatable) and sleeping bag. More options to pitch etc
They are big and heavy, there's no getting away from that but, everything is in one pack, you just roll it out pop in a few poles and its up in minutes , ideal for us as we used it for touring, pitching for no more than two nights at a time and yes they are small so quite frustrating when your trying to get out of your biking kit if its raining for example ! ... Thanks for watching 👍
Hi Markrobertson5305, for us the tents have never really been that wet when they've been rolled up, we have always been lucky enough to have dried them out slightly before hand. Its a good point though and certainly food for thought 🤔 Thanks for watching 👍
I brought mine home from my first trip absolutely soaked, and the sleeping bag and mattress were fine, a little damp but thats to be expected. Just dry your tent out after returning home and youve got nothing to worry about
@@max8519 on a trip of many days and nights in wet weather a damp bed is a worry. It's a tempting thing. But a separate tent and bag may be better for me. Thanks.
The new Wingman Toucan comes with a second canvas flap at the awning side which allows you to keep the awning attached to the bike and close the tent opening or if you prefer, roll the second flap up and use the fly screen during better weather 😄 ... Thanks for watching 👍
Don’t rate those tents at all, too expensive, too bulky, too heavy, & just too small for all that shit. Wild country tents all the time for me . All the best lads .
Hi Neil, we appreciate that everyone has their own preferences and at the time the wingman tents suited our needs, unfortunately we had a problem with water ingress on both tents and these have now been returned to wingman. I've had a quick search on wild country tents and will certainly check them out further if we plan some more moto camping trips ... Thanks for watching 👍
Hi, yes both tents were seasoned before our trip and both tents leaked in the same area, Wingman identified a problem with seam stitching. Thanks for watching 👍

You should do a specific video reviewing the Toucan. Not that many on TH-cam and you guys look like you've had plenty of use out of them!
Hi Tom, Yeah great idea 😁 Thanks for watching 👍

Can I ask, if you roll up the tent when wet, does the water soak into the sleeping bag and foam mattress?

And if it starts raining, how you can close the door without deconnecting the main awnings?

@@gtube153 omg at the end you suddenly Listened to the customers. Thx. now its interesting . Is it only at the bigger one or at the small one also?
I think the goose also has the second zipped flap on the awning side, but contact wingman first to confirm before you buy 👍

@@gtube153 Did you season (wet down) the tents before using them ? That is suppose to get the canvas threads to expand and make the swag waterproof.

They are expensive, bulky and heavy - BUT they have style!
