In this thrift with me video, we're going to scour the shelves together at Goodwill and Value Village in Calgary AB Canada. I'll take you through the vintage home decor I took home, why I chose them, and how much I paid. I found lots of cool vintage pieces including some needlepoint art, vintage brass, Indian carved wood piece and even some Murano glass vases! I'll also take you estate sale shopping and we'll shine up a piece of brass at the end too. I prefer brass with a soft shine and then let it gradually acquire a patina again. That doorknocker is stunning

The wooden Moroccan file holder would also look so nice on a vanity for holding makeup palettes.

I was gonna say flower frog too. And the door knocker is gorgeous.

Loving the tortoise and amber glass. The glasses would be great for candles. I was thinking about the hanging lantern and how it could be sprayed Jadeite green or milk glass white and fitted for an electric hanging lamp. Looks just like the shades from the 60’s. 😍 Great shopping Anne!

Depending on the piece of brass regarding patina or shiny. If the door knocker is used for its intended purpose it will quickly develop a new age.
