They could've embraced the cheese of the whole scenario, possibly a little bit like the newer Wolfenstein games. I agree with your comparison to Far Cry with its larger than life sadistic villains that have a few outlandish quirks making them feel somewhat human/relatable.

I remember playing the first homefront when i was like 14 and thinking the story was bland and too short but the gameplay was enjoyable.

Man that stuff toward the start about the various business involved made me think about something. I don't own a computer (too poor, just my phone) so I just watch stuff about games from content creators I like, who can tell a good story, like you.
But from outside it seems the video game industry is wild. Like its a much larger market than film now but it seems so volatile. The amount of production studios popping up, then getting carved up for parts. So so many rise and fall and IP changes hands and 1000s are laid off. I really feel for the workers, it seems even with their insane amount of work they put in, they still have no real sense of security in their jobs. Meanwhile, cocksucker CEOs get bonuses in the 8 figures. It really is capitalism in its most base and venal form.

The wildest part about the development is that it's far from being the worst or eaven bad conpared to so many old and new 3a games.

@SpaceCarl Yeah, it seems like a sector I wouldn't wanna go into if, I had a family. Like you don't get to see you family during crunch where you work 70 hour weeks. And then, the game comes out and you still get laid off. Now your family has to tough it out til you land a new gig. I don't remember what the specific games were, but I swear I've watches vids about 2 or 3 AAA games they released and were successful, but still hundreds got laid off.

I played this game a few years ago and while I liked the gameplay, the story just drained every bit of interest I had from it. Though that said I really haven't seen another game have guerrilla warfare, though I don't doubt there are some out there. I wouldn't call it a good game but it definitely is fun. Maybe I should give it another shot.

Yeah the story is easily the worst part. If you want another game that kind of does guerilla warfare i would recomend checking out Generation Zero

    *Wrong.*
Far Cry 2 is my favorite in the series.
