Aizawa: I use my scarf and quirk to cancel out their quirks, but mostly use my scarf to tie them or choke them in Monoma’s and Shinso’s case

2:57 After reading the Vigilantes manga, I think Aizawa reacted the way he did because Shinso here reminded him way too much of himself back when he was a teenager lol. He was also really insecure and kinda down about his Quirk, so here I think it's kind of tough love but he wanted Shinso to stop talking down on himself and take pride in his efforts haha.

The reason why I love Aizawa as a teacher is that in most series, they make the main character the most loved one, the teachers pet, and overall a really bad character (im sorry) but with this, although Deku is the main character, Aizawa wouldn't care less and would treat him the same as any other student misbehaving. Thank you, Mr. Aizawa, for not being as biased...
Edit: Getting lots of comments kinda asking the same question. No, I don't think Midoriya is a bad character. That was not what I was trying to say at all. Just trying to say that a lot of main characters are that really cliche "omg everyone loves you" type, which I personally think is very annoying and unrealistic. And with those main characters, they also make the teachers like them A LOT too. Like, even though they technically failed a test, they still got like a B or something just because the teacher "felt bad". Mr. Aizawa is DEFINITELY not that kind of teacher, and wouldn't go around giving Midoriya free A's just because he is the main character, which is something I really like about him. So yeah, not trying to say that I dislike Midoriya in any sort of way :)

It's just that in most series they make the main characters like a goody-two-shoes, and everybody loves them, and "oMg, ____ Is aMazIng" and although some stuff is true for Midoriya, the biggest flaw I see with main characters in general is that they are loved by almost everyone. Mr. Aizawa doesn't care that his quirk is powerful, and treats him like how he would to any other student, which overall doesn't make Midoriya the most loved person. Sorry if it was hard to understand

For those who are wondering how aizawas hair and scarf works well first of all his scarf is a support item that works by connecting the bioelectricity or bioenergy of its wielder and aim it at a certain trajectory also it is made of a polymorphic fiber so he can adjust the density of how hard or soft it can be and the fact that it floats is the same thing as being activated via quick since bioelectricity is transferred through neurotransmitters to create our thoughts at the same time process our movements and it can also blend on any substance that is connected to our body as for aizawa he uses it as an extension of his body as for his hair it works via the the bioelectricity focusing on a certain area which his eyes for ex. When Aizawa used his scarf to strangle Shinso, I saw that as the latter passing some kind of rite of passage. Like that was the moment you know he earned his spot in the Hero Course.
His capture weapon is starting to become like Cap's shield, just defines the laws of physics as it sees fit. The thing about the capture weapon is that one of the first times we see Aizawa use it his hands are in his pocket and it just floats and moves on its own, even though every other time he's clearly manipulating it with his hands.
He still loves his students he almost died to keep them safe

Aizawa may come off as overly strict sometimes but he cares deeply for his students. His brand of tough love is meant to refine their behavior as well as make them heroes. Coddling does not make good people, it turns people selfish and reinforces bad behaviors, and abuse causes them to hate authority and makes rebellion seem cool.

I had a feeling from the very moment this man came out of his sleeping bag that "scarf" was going to be a disciplinary tool. Didn't realize it'd end up being a comedic one lol. Aizawa is probably the best teacher UA will ever have because he doesn't take stepping out of line lightly but he has just enough understanding to let them learn their own way. And to think I was worried I wouldn't like him, how naive I was.
