I let mine sit for a year with some water in it and have some green/black mold or something else in it. Going to soak with with bleach and rinse it after with some warm water. Hopefully I can salvage this one instead of buying a new one 🤘
Old comment but: The bladder's ring deforms slightly when you hold the handle (think potato chip). This allows the overmolded "gasket" to bunch. Gently tighten while holding the handle. Then, with the bladder on a flat surface, re-loosen then fully tighten the cap. You can use the handle to counter torque but not to hold the weight of a full bladder. Go figure....
Thanks for the commercial. No need to get all these extra (expensive) extras to clean your Camelbak bladder. A LITTLE added bleach to some hot soap and water for a couple of minutes is quite SAFE and adequate thank you. Afterwards, I dry it out by hanging it on a clothesline outside in the sun. Seriously, you need a Camelbak hanger as well?
@@couchpoet1 Using a very diluted bleach in water, then rinsed, is completely safe. Have you ever swam in a swimming pool? Skin is our largest organ and covers our entire body. You are submerging yourself in a chlorine bath and it's all soaking into your skin. Seems much worse doesn't it?
Protip, just use the camelbak all the time, then there's no such thing as "between uses". I've used the same bladder for years with no breaks in usage, and no bacteria. Go fig.

Why not? Do you feel liquid bleach is somehow worse than liquid chlorine? Liquid chlorine is what most municipalities already put in the water supply to keep the pipes clean, so if you drink unfiltered water from your tap, you're already consuming liquid chlorine. Additionally, after a couple of good rinses, all of the bleach will be gone from the reservoir.
I would not either but in my case it is because I am allergic to bleach. Found out you don't have to get the tablets either, just get some of those denture cleaning tablets, they are much cheaper and do just as good a job.
If you don't have their hanger you can easily use a plastic one, just shove it in one of the two knob things and lean it to the side.
Best music video I've ever seen.
I didn't realize I need to have all these special tools!!
Im still trying to take off the tube
How often do you Clean it, if you only put water in it
Once every 2-3 months depending how often you use it
What the hell? I bought mine from mountain warehouse and only got the bladder, none of the cleaning stuff or hangers...
You have to buy that separately
That comes separate
Me too
Lol that’s the same thing I said when they showed a hanger and dryer thing. I was like what the hell where’s mine? 🤣
That looks easy.
I should give a shot.

Try turning the lid counterclockwise until you hear a click then screwing the lid in clockwise
Max Ehrlich-Vandyck tried this and worked straight away cheers, leaked every time before trying this. 👍🏼

I have the cleaning kit but it did not come with the hangers ......
Jeez how many times do I have to rinse this thing!
how often aree you meant to use a cleaning tablet?
how do you know if you got all of the tablet out of the tube?
has anyone heard from this guy?
Toxic he ded
@K Sthis comment got me 🤣😂🤣
Can you use Vinegar diluted in water to clean it instead of bleach or the cleaning tablet?
How about Hydro peroxide
Vinegar is great for cleaning but not great for sanitizing.
@@jesusjazzyogaspicytuna I didn’t ask about sanitizing it.
@Noel Villaseñor your logic is misplaced.
SMH.
@Noel Villaseñor I only asked about cleaning.

I just can't remove the tube...
21centuryfoxbite do you not have the removal buton?
I successfully remove the tube few days ago, thanks
@@21centuryfoxbite Damn it took you a year? 😂
@@noogles8627 Exactly. It was so hard to remove so I gave up because I don't want to break it. Next attempt was a year later.
@@21centuryfoxbite That sucks
where can i buy this water bladder?
They don't work well on the mil spec ones at all.
Can you use the tablet in cleaning filtration system?
Why not use sterilising fluid, the same as for baby bottles
Guess it would be too much to ask to link to the products you are trying to sell eh? Wouldn’t that make sense?
I just put it in the freezer after every ride. Never needed to clean one.
ATT for real?
I don't even empty out the unfinished water, this way I have a little ice in there for the next ride. Nerve got sick nor saw mold.
I hear this a lot just put in freezer
Brilliant. Bacteria can’t grow….

Reality Check
Bleach is a neurotoxin,
Use vinegar

Not everyone has a clothesline though.
ok so thats how to clean this camelbak. Only a babies arm could fit in the camelbak I have.next
Better be sure to get all that soap out because it is a sure fire path to the shit's. I think I will stay with the bleach.

Dominico Mucci so does mine
I expectrd that
I still use a canteen.
Just clean with soap and water and then store in the freezer
What does storing it in the freezer do

I would not clean anything that I will be drinking from with bleach.

Why wash it twice ? Why not use the tablet first then the go back with warm soapy water an rinse
