I wasn't going to buy Festool because of the price, but all the business Festool is going to get from me going forward they owe to Sedge. I watched a lot of videos from very knowledgeable people using Festool products, but it wasn't enough to turn me, but Sedge allowed me to see the light. Thank you!
I've been watching and really appreciating all of these presentations, but I'm a bit disappointed by this one. This was supposed to "walk us through the sander lineup", but turned out to be a spotlight on a single sander. It was all great info, but it failed at covering the intended information. I am ready to purchase either the ETS 125 REQ or the ETS EC 125/3, and I waited to watch this, but I have no more information to assist me in that decision. Covering the Rotex 150 in depth is great, but I'm really hopping that you will a video in the future that does cover the lineup.
Always so much great information and enthusiasm! Thanks Brian. Also Minnie Gleb is a great support for your training program. She helped me a bunch with the in person training I was lucky enough to attend. She is a credit to Festool. What a team! You sure make hard work fun!
Rotex 150 + RO 90 fulfills all my sanding needs. RO90 is itself a design marvel. These sanders have incredible power & excellent results are to be had. Customers appreciate the dust extraction as much as i do. Only gripe? The sheets cost an arm & a leg oh.. & the Saphir sheets seem almost impossible to buy in the U.K.
I thought I had gotten too used to the Rotex 150, that when I got swirl marks with the ETS 125 I never considered it was the suction. I do turn down the suction often, but not always (especially not when switching between tools other than sanders). Thanks for the tip, Sedge!
I have the RO-150 WOW what a beast, I can strip a table top in 1/2 the time, the only sander that removes more is a belt sander but I would never use one on a table top.
Why do festool not make other sanders with the led light as works amazing on the planex then downfall is the smaller sanders and rotex do not have it why is this?
I’ve had my RO -150 since 2010 I wouldn’t leave the house without it I’ve had one week when it went down it needed A new power cord connector & I had new brushes fitted the same time bomb proof 💪
Why are there no pad savers for the Ro90 As a wood turner it’s the only tool that works inside wood bowls. But the edges get burned in sanding hardwoods. Does festool have anything that can Sand the inside of curved surfaces? RAZ works great on outside of hardwood bowls. Why so few options o paper on RO90 and no protection pads.
Sure the RO 150 makes fast work of big flat surfaces, but it's useless in tight areas such as 100+ year old doors and woodwork. That's why I got the RO 90 first. It also has a delta head for inside corners.
Why would anyone buy an ETS EC 150/5 over the RO150? both are 150 size with a 5mm orbit. If the ETS EC 150/5 is made for more rapid stock removal as the video says it seems logical the RO150 is the better choice as a "rapid stock removal sander"
Oh Sedge. I'd have given you credit if you demonstrated the RO125 in your chat about how to use the RO sanders. The 150 floats like a dream, the 125 however (i own two of them) is a bitch and needs learning. I'm enjoying the videos. .
In another video someone asked what to use with 'resin' which is epoxy. Medium pad, Granat. My experience is you can polish it with a silicon carbide, which would be the Platin
Your audio levels are always low. I have to Pump It Up for these live shows. I then forget to turn my volume down and get blasted when the audio comes on from a different source. other than tat, really appreciate these vids.

This is incredibly helpful, I appreciate you all making it!

Great information. Clears up many questions...thanks!
That’s for the info on the maintenance part an storing the sander

Paul carmel,ca. Thank you
Please do a Festool Live on just the sand paper ( I mean the tool)
if I choose one what i need foir plywood olny remove mark and paint after?
very informative video, PS: what is that pencil/ pen you use to mark the wood with, looks very professional.
Looks like a “Pica - Dry Longlife Automatic Pen”

Great video.
Has anyone ever used the Festool Planex on a hardwood floor?
Love the live shows, but audio kills me...loud, soft, loud.
What is the best sander for walls and ceilings for a decorator
I also hold my hose at the vacuum end and my cord at the power point and let my sander do the sanding it needs ... you know.. to follow the contours
What pad would you recommend for removing/levelling flacking alligatoring paint on a plastered wall? I’m thinking of getting the rotex150
I always feel like Im watching a late night infomercial.
I’ve had my RO -150 since 2010 I wouldn’t leave the house without it I’ve had one week when it went down it needed

what is the stroke size on the Rotex random orbit?
I have a rotex 150 and it’s great but I find the festool ets ec 150/5 I have , is better at a fine finish .. I love my ro150 ... just saying 👍😊
Please start making all the sanders with led light improves quality of work by 100%
I much prefer light off the tool for finishing applications

Sedge. Is the 125 req good for raw wood applications? Sanding before and after finish application?
Sure the RO 150 makes fast work of big flat surfaces, but it's useless in tight areas such as 100+ year old doors and woodwork.
That's why I got the RO 90 first. It also has a delta head for inside corners.
I only sand with hook and loop (velcro), no sand paper needed. Always get perfect finish

Sedge, your Hoosier accent seemed thicker today.
I am itching to buy a bigger sander (probably a Rotex) to supplement my Rotex 90.
Ok polish epoxy to cleaR glass!!! Can rotex help me!!!
Rotex 125 What is the beast Dust coleter
Highly professional educator

Every time you say "wicked" I think to myself back in the day that guy probably had hair down to hisass. Great content. Thx.
wicked is a northeast phrase, not a hippy phrase
something wicked this way comes ;)
Need to work on audio. Sometimes I can’t hear you on full volume, sometimes you yelling. Really irritating.
Your audio levels are always low. I have to Pump It Up for these live shows. I then forget to turn my volume down and get blasted when the audio comes on from a different source. other than tat, really appreciate these vids.
But.. Festool have a belt sander as well
Could've run that maple through a thicknesser and then hit it with 120 and 240 grit paper.
Out of scope for the average Festool shop, which is typically a small/mobile shop
Ah I'm just buying a drum sander
How much is that wall behind you worth 🥴🤪😂 my guess is $30,000+
Ceramic
Festool is amazing. Sedge is annoying
