The richest people in Belgium are the Indian (Gujarati Jain) and Jewish diamond merchants. More than 100 years ago, the Indians went to Belgium to work for the Jewish diamond merchants and later became more successful than the Jewish people. They have integrated very well in the Belgium society. However, at home they have maintained the Indian culture and they are still vegetarian.

I am Desi in Belgium living and working here past many years ( Brugge). I think Belgium is bit underrated on the world tourist map, though we have such beautiful cities, and very old architecture here. Antwerp has a considerable Indian community, mainly Gujarathies, Punjabies. That restaurant has Jain , and veg menu I think. Belgium is small but the most densely populated country of Europe. Antwerp is in the Dutch speaking part, and is the 2 nd largest port of Europe. Belgians do not wear much jewellery. Big chains are worn by Africans, Indians etc.
