- As promised here is a breakdown of Top 5 Mods that you can get for Final Fantasy 9 in PC using various mod interfaces. Basically, the ones I've featured here are just Run & Play, you unzip the file and run it after you have installed the main game on steam and it should run without any issues.

Not all mods may work with each other to a perfect degree. So you gotta be adjusting a thing or two, also the regular Moguri Mod interface is different from the Memoria one, but both contain similar features but not 1:1 same. #FinalFantasy #FinalFantasyIX #JRPG

There’s a new mod I think that worth mention. Project terra.
Project terra is still in the works, but it’s two things. It plans to be a completely voice over for the entire game. The other thing it does add new music arrangements. They sound very nice if you ask me.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Alternate Fantasy, which is a mod that increases the difficulty of the game, and gives it as a different experience, it also adds a sidequest to recruit Beatrix after you get the Hildagarde. It adds as well some missing content in the release that was in the data, like a couple minigames and ATEs, definitely my favorite mod after moguri.
I mentioned in the very end of the video, it didn't end up to Top5 tho. I Didn't have the time to fully try it out. Makes me think however if beatrix would be added to main cast if they remade the game.
@@SugiJRPG You should try it, definitely a must play, the added difficulty is fun too, and Beatrix is really well done, with her own set of abilities to learn and a custom trance, with some extra dialogues from her interacting with the party, it really feels like she could be an optional character for the vanilla game.
@@diegocaru8268 i think i will wait until the voice acting mod. Im generally not a person who replays games a lot. Also got lot of other JRPG games to play and review..

@@SugiJRPG Yeah you missed out big, Alternate fantasy is an excellently made mod.
Making the battles 60 FPS definitely feels the nicest, but it also looks weird in combat. When characters attack, it looks as though a few frames are outright missing so there's this stuttery look to it that I think is the result of increasing the 15 FPS the game is supposed to run at. Still, I'll take that over how slow 15 FPS feels in comparison.
Yeah you're right on point, its not designed to look great on 60 FPS, probably more closer to 30-40 FPS range gives best look and feel.
I hope you can do a video or a reaction about Final Fantasy IX: Memoria Project, be cuase it looks amazing!

Hoping to one day get a ruby and baku and zorn and thorn character pack :) thanks for this share....loved this game from the 90s and never thought to look into mods.
Most FF games have mods and very good ones for that matter, it always had a passionate fanbase.

Character pack doesn't have Beatrix? Are you kidding me? She was the most desired character to play when FF9 came out, and probably to this day. I remember when somebody figured out the bug to keep her in the party. Incredible.
It does have her, i just misspoke, but you can see her in the clip

@@ruggie.74 There is also separate mod just for her, which like creates a sidequest to obtain her. On further thinking if they remake this game, chances are shes gonna be official character of the main roster probably.

Never mind, I figured it out. For anyone in the future, The Option "Darker UI" is the correct option. Its not flat or default, and you can't mix them.

The Mog Kupo Add On does it work in Steam Deck?
I'm not the best person to ask, since I got very limited experience on steam deck, so I don't want to talk on the matter which I'm not sure about, just try it.
interesting mods, most seem to be focused on visuals. when i played FF9 the visuals weren't my biggest gripe. rando overdrives and overly grindy side quests are my biggest issues with the game.
Trance was poorly designed i agree.
Alternate Fantasy mod addresses Trance. Zidane learns an ability that can trigger trance for any character who's bar is more than half full.
Crazy how the community did this AI upscaling but square enix can't be bothered even though they have much more resources to do so.
I mean its been in the news this week that they are working on FF9 remake. But you're correct, FF8 and some other titles would be very easy to upscale.

Actually i think you have to, i don't think you can just download an ISO and run these mods because they need a directory - you would have to jump through a loop or two in order to get them work.

There should be a mod to fix the broken card game rules and mechanics
If you include the latest Memoria version (memoria is included in Moguri, but it's an older version), you can toggle Triple Triad instead (with FF9 cards)
