    3D Touch is THE most underrated feature in the history of the iPhone. That thing has so much potential. You would not believe. Apple isn’t even scratching the surface of it yet.

    • @williamhartono9060
      @williamhartono9060 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      TheBoyJenius that is so true. If Apple actually thought more thoroughly throughout every aspect of the UX I'm sure 3D Touch can bring even more functionality. Maybe imagine 3D Touch in Today widgets and Siri Suggested Shortcuts integrated when you deep press items throughout apps... Or 3D Touch within the share sheet for more thorough extension sharing options. They need to make it clear where it exists and how different it is from long presses.

      William Hartono Bro! You are on point!! Apple is just fucking around with as far as I am seeing. The potential of it is insane. It measures multiple degrees of pressure. Not just two or three or four. It is so good. I just don’t understand how it’s so overlooked. It’s crazy.

    • @williamhartono9060
      @williamhartono9060 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      TheBoyJenius I think that has to do with not indicating what can be deep-pressed and downgrading it’s exclusivity. Look at Control Center-3D Touch only offers increased speed to invoke menus and platters-basically similar with Haptic Touch. If we got increased speed PLUS some exclusive features it would be great. Why not 3D Touch on the seek/skip music buttons like on Mac to get around faster or 3D Touch toggles to open corresponding parts of Settings or other apps? 3D Touch seems redundant at times when it should be a whole new level of control.

    • @TheBoyJenius

      How would you define the preasure to match the wanted level? Maybe as a paint brush.... Apple will promote a calling function and most of the applecrap fans would be excited. Maybe with the 11 they shower something new. Not much though. Still far behind from others

    Everyone’s been saying that they don’t miss 3D Touch or they don’t even notice it, however it’s a big deal to me, I have an iPhone X and my sister just got the XR, I tried that “Haptic Touch” on her phone it’s absolutely no replacement for 3D Touch.
    I personally couldn’t go back to using a phone without the full fat 3D Touch, especially for launching the camera from the lock screen, I loved how the camera and flashlight buttons on the lock screen felt like actual buttons on my iPhone X, you can click them quickly for example with regards to the flashlight, you can keep your finger on the screen without lifting and constantly click the light on and off like you would a physical button, the haptic Touch is basically a long press and it feels like it takes an age to launch the camera from the lock screen on the XR.
    I honestly believe that people who say it feels the same don’t use 3D Touch properly, they’re using it as a long press regardless and they’re holding their finder on the control as they would on a non 3D Touch device, they don’t realise it’s force dependent and not time dependent, it’s nice to be able to jab the camera button and have it instantly launch with no delay, you just don’t get that with haptic Touch, I’m pretty sure these people have always been pressing and holding and not utilising the full power and speed of 3D Touch that’s why they think it’s the same thing.
    If you have a 3D Touch device go and do a lightning quick but forceful jab on a Control Center item or one of the controls on the bottom of the lock screen, you’ll see how quick and powerful it is, there’s absolutely no wait delay, that’s the power of 3D Touch, it’s a pity Apple delays the speed of 3D Touch on the home screen when pressing apps, it’s so frustrating.
    The Haptic Touch just doesn’t allow for lightning quick and responsive japs, it’s time based and much slower.

      Matthew Gerlag There are also a lot of apps that take advantage of 3D Touch, such as impossible road. 3D Touch also lets you preview links on websites and other things. It’s a niche feature, but once you get used to it you can’t go to any phone without it. Not being able to preview a link before I open it is a big deal now.

      TechTravelRz They couldn’t. It wasn’t because of price, it was because of the screen they used. @@rohandatta7111 Removal of 3d touch is not due to rounded corners of XR liquid retina display, it is an advanced display. Haptic Touch doesn’t care about how hard you press. Also apple doesn’t have curved LCD panels, it’s not very easy to get the backlight even on curved displays. The displays with curved corners are OLED.
