Ryan is a gentleman takes the time to explain and show how it works, top man.
What a beautiful family chirs your dad is Tough as old boots. God bless him thanks for always putting a smile on my face 👊👊
Get well Dad
and birdies a little cutie
Thanks for another uplifting video Chris 😊
Speedy recovery to your old man and another great video Chris...thanks for sharing and keep em coming.
Hope everything goes smoothly for you dad keep him away from any barrels in future , great upload Chris
Favourite bit of the vlog….Chris asking Ryan…is that ok there then, aye, or the pointy bit would be through the back of the cab…..lol 🤣🤣🤣
Have watched a lot of your videos Chris ,and this one is the best yet .You where having a free day ,and went back to the small boy playing soldiers lol..I had the joy of joining the Army in 1984 as a mechanic in the glorious R.E.M.E . Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers....When you got to your trade training they would class you as a "A" Mech or "B" Mech ,the A mech basically only did Chieftain ,Challenger The B mech did everything else Luckily i was a "B" Mech ,though later in my career when they merged them i had to do Chieftain Challenger training luckily i was never sent to a MBT unit though did have to do repairs on Chally on an exercise in Canada for my sins ..The CVR(T) on the trailer worked on all their variants ...Driving wise is such a buzz and on the ranges when they fire is something different ,unless you are posted to a unit in the bloody ranges ,then at night it is bang ,flash and windows rattle lol..In 1986 i think ,the Foden wrecker came in to service ,replacing mainly AECs and in our unit an old Leyland Martian ,i may have the name wrong an old petrol wrecker...Chieftain spent most of its life broken down ,and in germany they where driven on roads during exercises ,The pads on the tracks prevented damaged to the roads ..A gap was left between tanks so you could overtake tank by tank ,but if one of they pads came off and hit you ,you knew about it ,note i am not by any way saying we claimed for damage to our cars illegally ,ie we needed a windscreen lol...Like everything in life when you are surrounded by it everyday there is no wow factor ,,But now i am more all these museum pieces i worked on lol..The 2nd engine i think was a VW engine it was used as a Auxiliary Power Unit that ran the tank systems without running the main fuel hungry engine and it was quieter ,with a lower heat signature....For starting as they say you had the electric start ,but again had the hydraulic star ( i still have the training notes ..You had to actually hand prime the hydraulics to build up the pressure then release it and a rack would spin it over and it would start...Nowdays they generally have 2 starters to get them going ,but they will start on 1 starter, ,so for diagnosis .if it doesnt start with both starters ,and starts with both starters individually it helps diagnosis or it may only start with one
Best wishes to your Dad the Master Struggler ❤

Great video, chris, your Dad is proper old school, he's doesn't make a fuss just gets on with it, needs those ponsey football players to do the same after someone pulls their shirt,
That Chieftain was a great bit of kit? It's great to see your ol' man was OK. When you said about Josh running in the opposite direction, WellI was in stitches. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I savoured this one for 7hrs before watching, it wasn't easy ....what a great vid...not everyday you see a chieftain tank...that was awesome , poor dad , I felt for him when you started the story ....what a soldier that man is , your as bad as him so we know where it comes from bless him .....us men are never happy till we've injured ourselves somehow , it's like a scar of effort , proudly worn 😂. Like you said more great people you've met and that truck & trailer was impressive as hell. Proper set up, I swear that little Birdie must have been in nana's compost , she's growing fast is the girl , coming along perfectly as a struggler 👍 what will the next adventure hold I wonder, from steam engines & V8 milk floats to a Chieftain tank .....at this point it could be anything knowing you
Another great video Chris hope you're dad's on the mend I can imagine him saying it's just a mear flesh wound back to the barrel jobby mush 😂 xx
challenger chris you need to hear that at night as you hear it before you see it
I go in collins transfer yard regularly and you should see the new fully electric artics they have
Smart trucks
Wow that’s a one big tank and that truck trailer is quite the piece of kit. Poor granddad glad he’s ok. Might figure that Josh would run the other way instead of applying pressure to the wound! Awe Lil’l dog so handsome, great video Chris 👏👍🇨🇦💕
Chris if the Cheiftan got you excited, have a look at titan and Trojan which the royal engineers use, I started as a driver on them and was a tank commander on them.

Our mark 11 came in at 50 ton, higher weights seemed to be from full fuel, ammo, kit & crew
We just give people the full book weights, better to know it’s lighter than overweight 😁
@@jamesworrall6727 it’s same for me self after a night on the guinness
