Hi Nick, I had a similar job several months ago I went to my wholesalers and seen the wiska box din rail you have used in this video. I was going to use it then I thought it made from fire proof plastic. I decided to use wago connections and a metal junction box, driiled hole used crimp into body and earthed to new consumer unit. My reason for my method was due to us now fitting metal consumer units for fire protection, now and if I used the wiska din rail as you have then isn't it just a plastic consumer unit with out MCB's ,isolators etc. Just wondered what you thought and by the way live the vids
Great job Nick and Adam. I believe the reason for the levers on one side only is so that the load side can be attached and removed for testing. Load side under levers. Cheers from Aurora, Colorado.
BTW when using DIN rail terminals to extend circuits, DIN rail earth terminals normally connect electrically to the DIN rail. That isn't normally a problem per-se, but it's something to be aware of when testing and interpreting test results.
So the relocation box only takes 10 cables ? Seems very small . Cant imagine that working for most boards especially if more than one ring . Also its a plastic box i assume yet we have to use metal CUs? When Wago start doing CUs ill be all in on that !
Are the green and yellow din rail connectors isolated from the din rail?, din rail connectors I've bought before, the green and yellow ones earthed together through the din rail, which messes with you test readings.
11:20 why aren't you cutting the neutrals & earths down and re-ferruling the ends? All that wire coiled up inside is just a mess and may cause a bit of heat buildup.
I twigged the minute you just walked into some customer's house after packing up and leaving! Absolutely had me going until that moment, cracking stuff
Nick, you should have held that for April 1st. You may be a TH-cam star but you are just like the rest of us electricians bring everyone else's installations up to date but still after all these years got an old consumer unit.
With those long fly leads on the rcbo's, are you not tempted to just cut them to a realistic length and re-ferrule them so it's not filling the board with unnecessary cable?

A junction box does not contain equipment that's "arcing and sparking" in normal operation (switches).
Would the wiska modules have fitted the other way round on the DIN Rail? Would have thought that would have given more space for cabling
