- Chronologically, the book of Daniel links the time of the kings in 2 Chronicles to the restoration of Jerusalem in the book of Ezra. It begins with the first Babylonian captivity, and in our first flight over Daniel, we witness prophetic history that was foretold by the prophets who preceded Daniel, carried out by Nebuchadnezzar, and orchestrated by God for His purpose.

My first attempt at reading the Bible was Nov 2018. Of all the books to read I started with Revelations followed by Daniel. Both books are fairly hard to make sense of. I’m amazed I didn’t give up. I purchased several books from Amazon and found a lot of TH-cam videos dealing with both books. Because of those two books my doubts in God vanished. A year later I study the Bible 1 to 2 hours a day. So glad I found your videos. You make the complex easy to understand. Your knowledge of the Bible is astounding. For some reason my church won’t cover Daniel or Revelations. Guess they don’t want to scare off people. I would love to see you do a detailed study on both of those books. I pray you are recovering well from your back surgery.
Kool, keep up the studies. Dennis Prager is a good one to follow he has a few books. God bless you hopefully your faith will increase mine has and I could say I'm just a beginner also.

Thats incredible.i started the same way.revelations and daniel.i follow the teachings of john macarthur.very purist teachings.very close to skip.i tell you,you teach the spiritual corruption of mankind,Jesus as the only reconcilliation with God and escatology then you will empty a church in 2 seconds.its not mainstream to teach that.

I know, right? The life of Daniel & Joseph too. That they persevered despite their circumstances. They still CHOSE to press on and do what they knew, from what they were taught as children or what God revealed to them, to give God glory. An excellent example for us and we are living in such times of evil.
I’m watching this in small sections as I go through each chapter in Daniel. The way you teach is incredible and easy to understand! Thank you for this!

I wrote a poem for Daniel 1
Judah was taken by the Babylonian king
It was all in God's plan
God allowed four young men
To be taken to a foreign land
They remained faithful to God
For they knew He was never far
Boy your man named Daniel,
The king named Belteshazzar
You can have whatever you want
As long as you learn the Babylonian way
They learned the language and the culture
But hid God in their hearts all day
Daniel and his friends, they honored God
One way was through their diet
When it came to what they put in their bodies
They simply refuse to stay quiet
The young man were offered the best food and wine
You must be healthy and strong
Give us water and vegetables only
To honor God you can't to go wrong
If we change your diet and fail
Us guards the king will detest
The guards were afraid that these Jewish teens
Wouldn't stand to compete with the rest
The four young man impressed the king
With our strength and ease to learn
Also, Daniel could tell visions and dreams
What a high respect he earned
The king tested these four young men
Found them smart and wise
Place them in the king's royal service
Only the beginning of their rise

Skip you are anointed by God to bring understanding of the Bible to the masses. You have become a legend.
While listening to this study when you spoke about Daniel not partaking of the pleasures of Babylon and you mention them enticing the Jews with the pleasures of Babylon I remember your study in revelation with the beast coming and proclaiming peace and working miracles pulling the wool over everyone eyes and all thinking well this is a good person and then suddenly his true colors will show. Comparing both scriptures it a plot to deceive people and then after they've won our trust they reveal their true deceptions

Good Afternoon Gerard. My name is Antonio. The Book of Daniel was originally written in two languages. From the beginning of the book through Daniel 2:3 it was originally written in Hebrew. In Daniel 2:4 the prophet switched to Aramaic, the language of the Babylonians, and used that language through the end of chapter 7. This corresponds with the portion of the book dealing primarily with Gentiles. Beginning in chapter 8, the rest of the book is in Hebrew again, since the focus of the last 5 chapters is primarily on Israel. So, to summarize: Daniel writes in Hebrew when he writes about prophecy pertaining to the Nation of Israel and he writes in Aramaic when writing about prophesy of the Gentile nations.
