That is the most comprehensive nail tutorial on how to do tortoise shell I’ve ever seen. This nail design is like a hellscape to figure out on your own😂. They look beautiful- you can tell if you’ve done a great faux finish if it looks awesome both glossy and matte. You totally nailed it -AGAIN 👍🏻
Hey Val I love doing tortoise print nails they are so easy Their is two ways of doing them too the regular way which is what your doing and then the complex way which has a ton of detail live doing them both ways
I did these as soon as I seen this video. I used short coffin nails. I did add a bit of gold glitter veining to the last layer of base color. I used born pretty jelly colors because that’s the brand I had. I used a black cat eye for some of the black splotches. I mixed four different very transparent jellies ranging from a yellow, red, orange, brown. It turned out a beautiful amber color that looks like stained glass or even a rock with a crystal in it. I took Val’s suggestions and kept wiping the sides with each layer. Don’t hesitate to try this! Make sure to use very transparent jellies. Some aren’t as transparent. You don’t need top coat or blooming gel to create the design. I may try it in the future using less traditional brown/black opting for reds, purples, greens, or blues. Very classy design and you can play around with it to get a custom look.
I really like these. Going to change my French with encapsulated glitter to these. Will be fun. Classy and sexy. Matte is classy but I always end adding a gloss top coat. Glossy girl all the way.❤
Hey hun, you made that look so easy, lol. I will have to try it and see if I can create that look and post it on my channel. If so, I'll be thanking you. 😊 Take care hun 💜
I was using blooming gel to make the black gel polish spread because I ran out of alcohol. Once’s I was done using the black gel and cured everything. I would put a thin layer of the gelly color on top and cured. Added top coat.
Hi what tips do you use for stiletto/almond for the customers that need the larger thumb sizes? Eg 18mm thumb all the brands I have tried in that shape seem to run smaller x

How do you decide which glue to use? You change glue from the super glue and the Markartt frequently.
First ❤
Whats the secret with the little like medal decores that are scratchy do you immediately them?
Inbed them i meant to say 🙃
If all my polishes are the same opacity, is there a way I can dilute it to make it more of a jelly type opacity?
@@cassidylynne6329 yes absolutely you can mix any color with some base coat to make it as sheer as you would like 😊
🤎🤎
If you PREFER 😂
