Hi Rc Action. I am assuming you have a winch controller for your Warn winch (if not I highly recommend the HeyOkPerformance relay winch controller with soft start, as it is bullet proof and also puts a drag brake on the winch line)?... I used to use a DX3C transmitter, which is very similar to your DX4C: You need to go into the "Switch" option in the menu on the transmitter (manual is here: www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/Files/SPM4200-Manual_EN.pdf): Configure Button A to be a 3 position switch ('Aux 1 3P'), then plug the 3 pin connector on the winch controller into the AUX 1 socket on your receiver - This will enable you to control the winch from Button A on your transmitter.
You then need to connect the power OUTPUT wires from the winch controller to the winch and finally, provide power to the winch controller. If you run on 2S LiPo (or 7.2V NiMh) batteries you can put this directly to the winch controllers power wires. If you are on 3S LiPo then consider getting a BEC that can output 7.4V with several Amps (e.g the programmable Castle Creations BEC) to power the winch controller.
This older video of mine may help a little?: th-cam.com/video/OpwOl8nLinM/w-d-xo.html

Rc Action, OW RC made a video showing exactly that, with same controller so check his out, it doesn't show installation or anything but it shows how it works

OR if you dont want to spend a ton of money on a winch controller take a old servo ... i used a futaba s3004 take it apart and take the board out.. then plug it in to the receiver the little motor will spin on the board there will be a black dial turn it till the motor stops. then super glue that dial in the position you noticed the lil motor stop spinning then unsolder the motor from the servo board. Then solder the wires from the winch where the motor was ... and then set a aux channel on your radio to 3p which is 3 position switch and when you hit the button up it will let the line out and when you go back to neutral on that switch it will stop .. then when you push it down.. it will retract your line.. giving you about a 14 buck winch controller. for cheap..
