Railbound Part 1 - and this game is a grower. Railbound appears to be a casual puzzle game that you can autopilot through, but actually is a fiendish puzzle game in disguise. Connect the tracks so the train cars attach to the engine in the correct order, and don't cause a crash!

its hard because i wanna watch your puzzle videos but after how wonderful the patrick's parabox series was i really wanna play the games before watching the videos but at the same time i dont really have the time to play the games rn
Railway terminology: they are Interlocked. The gate cannot open until the button is triggered. IRL, interlocking is used for things like train doors and train power. The doors are locked until the train stops, and an open door prevents the train from moving. Same for different elements of the signalling system, like points and level crossings. The whole system creates an Interlocking. It helps keep the railway fail-safe by eliminating dangerous options.
Even outside of train, interlocking exist. Example : an electric motor is wired so it can move forward and reverse. You dont want to have it so its possible to enable the forward and reverse relay at the same time. So there is software and hardware interlocking. The hardware interlock sit between the two relays and mechanicaly prevent the relay to engage.
Now explaining it, I realise its not the exact same concept. Anyway.
@@pascha4527 It's *almost* the exact same concept! In general "interlocking" is some mode of constraining moving/active parts of a system so they don't end up in unsafe configurations :)
Interlocking is also used with switches that would cause derailments if left in certain combinations of positions.

Aliensrock, myself, and most viewers have seen so many tutorial puzzle game levels that we can do them in our head pretty easily. If this is the first/one of the first serious puzzle games you've watched/played that's ok

Your more "classical puzzle game" content is my favorite. Love being introduced to clever puzzles and watching you work your logic is entertaining. Most of the time I get frustrated with content creators playing puzzle games waiting for them to find the solution that I see, but the editing and knack for these games is just a great watch for my puzzle sweet tooth.

I've been working as a switch operator for 89 years and I can confirm this is exactly what I do at work every day.

OpenTTD? I remember it having fairly complex switching system, very closely copying actual railways (red = forbidden track part, etc)
@@SanyaJuutilainen -- That has good signals, but doesn't it ignore switching, with trains just going as they please within signal blocks?
i feel like a lot of puzzle games have that one puzzle where you go "HOLLLYY SHI THATS A LOT OF (insert mechanic here)" and im honestly so glad that that trope exists and is in this game as well. (the puzzle with the tons of buttons)

I’m going crazy. Those gates are definitely green, and not in a “that’s turquoise” or “seafoam” kind of way. That’s straight up mint green.

I love potion craft (probably my favorite current series), loved dicey dungeons and love the pegglin gameplay, etc. But I must say, simple puzzle games like this are why I love your channel so much! Games like this are when you're at your best. Don't get me wrong, all of your content is honestly top tier some of the best on all of youtube. But there is something about Puzzle Tyler that is just *chef's kiss*
Strong agree, I watch all his stuff, but when its rouge lites I kind of just go, “eh I’ll watch it.” Puzzle game tyler is some of my favorite youtube content period, like, back in the day I would stay up late to get the new episodes of A monsters Expedition

games like this really feel like classic aliensrock. I always love these simple-at-first-glance puzzle games, but they especially bring me back to when I first got into the channel

I'm on the other end. Tyler's commentary especially in puzzle games is super relaxing and helps when I lay there for hours with my heart racing

If you like this sort of train programming, you're going to love CR-8, Backpack Hero's robot character. His backpack is essentially a train sandbox, getting a charge to pass through all the items you want and redirecting it to make it travel as far as possible.
This game is really long and hard!

I think it'd be more fun to do the challenge levels as soon as they are unlocked, since (I assume) they are related to the level that unlocked them, so you can enjoy more of the "variations of a theme" when the original is fresh in memory.

Cosmic Express, the sequel
I understand now how do you make videos every day! You picked puzzle and roguelike games as main content, and both of these genres require just a bit of montage: Intro, outro, cut boring and repeating parts, speed up something, and thats it, good yet simple! Your videos is very calm and interesting to watch too because there's just calming gameplay and nothing else.

Railbound looks like what I did in 2012/13 in Minecraft with rails as part of a roller coaster.
The normal roller coasters were very boring for me, they would simply go up and down, my roller coaster would go on the same track twice or thrice, in which it only advances with timed logic gates.
Cute, uncomplicated puzzle game that looks polished to a mirror shine.

Actually, I found out another solution for 3-7A, which is go around the green switch.
Since the green gate was already opened, then that green switch wasn't necessary.
there's actually a game like this on mobile where you also have to solve train puzzles, unfortunately it got ruined when the devs tried to be greedy

I am playing along, trying the puzzle myself first, and then watching you.
I was flabbergasted by your outcome on 2-3b. I let car 3 go through the tunnel, loop back on itself and it narrowly looped around car 1 and 2 to make it.
I was certain that you were gonna love that solution, but you just thought of an entirely different solution hahaha

Fun fact, you can do 3-10C (at 26:00 ) with 5 tracks still remaining. You only need the loop in front of car #2 and then to connect car#1 directly to the exit
You should play freshly frosted on steam, it's a puzzle game about making factories to make donuts, it has a calming art style and I think you would enjoy it.

Definitely looking sweet. They definitely could have had 1/10th the number of introductory puzzles. But at least they went by quickly. Meat of the game looks like it could be good.
