  • Return of the dreaded helmet cam! hopefully I have cut out the worst of the motion-sickness inducing camera movement (usually when reversing) and this is somewhat enjoyable. Not often does a day of clearing fresh snow end in the sunshine but this was a particularly busy day.

Hey man, I just found your channel it’s great, plz keep the videos coming!
I’m super keen to get a job as a snow cat driver at the end of the year, ideally in Canada. I can’t for the life of me find any info on how to get into the job though, what experience I can gain before the season starts that may help me land a job. Can you lend some advice at all?

If you don’t have previous machinery experience it can be very difficult to get a job. Snowmaking is generally a better gateway into the grooming world especially if you don’t have machinery experience. Otherwise you just have to apply for jobs and maybe you’ll get lucky and find a rookie position, it is quite a hard job to get into in most countries but once you’re in it’s easier to get jobs, usual story.

Hey dude ! Love your vids, they’re really cool. I was just wondering what did you thought about your last season grooming ? Was it a good place ? I’m actually searching for next winter.

Skistar is a great company to work for. They take care of their machines, pay their staff well and have good accomodation for their staff.

Just a hint to make the job faster..just push the snow at the end of the driveway, and slope it all together at the last push, if the machine is up to it of course.

Just some friendly advise: get used to using the joystick for steering, once you get used to it you will not regret it😁

I’m fairly sure it’s illegal to use joystick steering on public roads in Sweden. I use it on construction sites in the summer but I was always told when driving on the road you use the steering wheel in wheel loaders and excavators.

@@pushnpow you are probably correct but i would personally say that this isn’t really «driving» on the road as much as working on the road😁 But anyways, if you have been told to use the steering wheel don’t listen to me 🤣

youre fine, up to 30km/h, if you go faster then that its illegal. thats why the machine shouldnt be able to go faster then 30 with cdc activated. @@pushnpow

The problem with it dying on idle under warmup is probably because the hydraulic system is cold and requires more rpm to be able to move the components. If i got your explenation right in the video

It’s not, it will stall during any weather at any time of year and it’s not when it’s warming up it’s when it is at operating temp. You can operate it for 10 hours and it will still stall.

I moved to the other side of the world a month ago, we won’t have snow here until July. May post some older video but I’m not grooming right now.

You british? Or maybe aussie? Accent is interesting.

I was asking myself the same question because I could definitely not hear the typical Swedish accent. I then went to channel info and I read New Zealand.
