Enjoyed the video. Probably one of the better videos made on the PHD. The only part lacking for me was tightening the set pin on the PTO u-joint. Clarity in the instructions were as clear as mud for me. tks.
Thank you very much. I wouldn’t have been able to put mine together if it weren’t for this video. Great instructional video. Made for dummies like me. Thank you thank you!
Glad you liked it - You can't be too much of a dummy if you own a tractor and plan on operating an auger... Best of luck - Please comeback and visit with us again...
Great video,if you set your pto lever to the mid pto mode it will allow you to freely spin the tractor rear pto with out having to disconnect the post hole pto shaft
Great video. If you swap sides with the tail light assemblies you can mount them inside the ROP and they won't be as vulnerable to getting broken or damaged.
Thanks for the tip - 90% of the time I have my 260B Backhoe on the tractor, so I wouldn’t have room to get into the BH seat if I reversed the tail lights 👍
As others have said, exactly what I was looking for so thank you! Looking to purchase a 1025R this week and wanted to ensure the digger I purchased would work with the JD.
I think, when storing, the PTO end of the linkage slips over the bracket that you tied it to. I don't know for sure, but it looks like that is how it was designed to be used. Great video, quite informative.
Yes, I totally agree with you - if the unit was on level ground it probably would stay in place better - I also greased it & put a throw away rubber glove over it for long term storage - Thanks for your comment & for tuning in to our channel !
Thanks for tuning in to our channel - The Kubota L2501 is a great Tractor and the Post Hole Digger should work well on it - Good luck and have fun with them both... Let us know how it all works out - Would love to hear about your project...
Awesome video. This is what I was looking for but took a while to find. Other videos showed stuff already assembled and that was a waste of time. Take care and God Bless You Sir. Thanks for your help.
@@ClearCreekCabinMiniFarm Thank you, I got it up and running and tested it out. It worked way better than I expected. Take care and may God Bless You. ✌️🙏🇺🇸
Finally a to the point video,,great video sir,,i installed my new auger yesterday but was unable to get pto shaft to go on at all in order to pull the sleeve to lock it?Hopefully today i will figure out whats the issue,,great tip on the pivot point grease,,i did notice mine was jumpy,,i was going to adjust lift speed..i did have to grind off a small amount of lift arm so the pin would go in,
Thank you - Glad it helped - Yes PTO’s are a PIA 😂 to get on sometimes - You may want to try rotating the shaft and lubricating it well & try again - Good Luck 👍
Any chance you remember the bolts you used to attach the shroud to the gear box that holds the legs on it? Ours came with none. I haven’t figured out how to attach the shroud that holds the legs.
👍 Thanks for tuning in - I had watched several TH-cam videos of guys assembling their post hole digger where 2 guys were struggling to hang the drive on the boom and thought there has to be a better way - Especially if you're attempting it by yourself. Believe me, I've been in your shoes way too many times doing heavy projects alone. So I always try to work Smarter instead of Harder - Key word here is "Try" (cause I'm not always successful) Thanks again for your comments and for tuning in to our channel...
Thanks for tuning in - The pins are nothing but 1/4” grade 3 bolts - you can buy a pack of 3 at Tractor Supply - I bought a pack when I picked up the digger
On your tractor the three point hitch raises higher then mine. I cannot figure out how to get it to go higher. My bottom arm are 17” off the ground and everything I find on the internet they are about 24” off the ground. Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Wesley - Thanks for tuning in - Did you try reversing the 3 point hitch arms? As you know the arms have one end shorter than the other? Also have you tightened (locked down) the lift adjustment knob under your seat (assuming you also have the 1025r?)
Have you tired using it through hard rocky soil? I have a lot of clay and stone, and a lot of the fill used around my house it so hard I can barely dig into it with a shovel, I often need a digging pole to break it up. I've been looking at this post hole digger online but worried it might not handle the job.
Hi - Thanks for tuning in to our channel - In my experience you cannot use this anywhere there are heavy tree roots or large rocks in the soil - It worked just fine for me in hard clay - You just have to take it slow and only go a few inches at a time before lifting up the boom. Because of the limited PTO HP of the 1025r you have to be careful where you can use it. It can bury itself in a heartbeat. I believe it's probably better suited for larger category one machines >25 HP.
Thanks for watching - Yea I saw that somewhere - The guy let the boom/arm twist in the top link while installing/removing it - IMHO - That’s why you must install the yoke 1st to help keep it from twisting & make sure your lift arms don’t have too much sway when operating it- Thanks again
Thanks for tuning in to our channel - Yes I purchased extra "Shear Bolts" from Tractor Supply - They are over in the aisle where the Clevis Pins and Wire Pin Locks are if you go looking for them - Your 44 horse JD will make the auger even easier to use over the 25 hp 1025r - Best of luck with your new post hole digger Mr. Yard Dog...

We dug all the posts by hand for the original paddock because we were rushing to get ready for the delivery of the 1st shed. At the same time we were loading heavy buckets full of manufactured sand - The backhoe acts as the "Ballast" for the front loader on this little tractor - The Post Hole Digger isn't heavy enough. For the 2nd paddock we had time to dig the post holes with the tractor's 3-point digger and then put the backhoe back on as ballast while loading another 20 tons of sand. Believe me my back paid the price for the 1st posts we put in - But it was good for the soul... lol
@@ClearCreekCabinMiniFarm I read somewhere else where the owner convinced a couple of highschool football players that it would be a good workout to dig the postholes for him. !! hah it worked for Tom Sawyer.

What exactly did you grease to keep it from being bouncy going up and down?
@@maxsanchez2339 I wiped down the two part PTO Shaft that slides inside each other with grease
Is the PTO drive shaft more contracted when the boom is up or down? Hard to tell from watching the video.
The 2 piece shaft is extended when the boom is all the way up and is contracted the most when the auger is buried fully down into the ground✅
