    You have a heart face shape face and people like us have an almost universal face: we can get away with wearing almost anything! The glasses you bought look good on you and are flattering to your face shape. Sometimes you don’t need to try certain frames on; you just know they look and feel right. Wear yours in good health!

    I love Zenni and have been ordering glasses from them for the past 16 years. I'm a retired optician these days but back in my working days I was the manager of a rather large optical store and had about 12 opticians and optical assistants working for me. most of them were young females. Our store had a policy that all employees had to wear glasses when at work. One of newest young ladies had only recently had her eyes examined to see if she needed prescription glasses or non-prescription glasses. She was a bit surprised to find out that she was actually slightly nearsighted so her glasses were going to be prescription glasses which she was fine with. She picked out the glasses she wanted and I wrote up the order for her glasses. Her glasses came in a few days later and I did the fitting for her. The first few days after getting her glasses she spent a lot of time cleaning them and fiddling with them as she was slowly adjusting to wearing glasses for the first time. A couple weeks after getting her glasses she came in to work one morning wearing a pair of new glasses. Of course she wouldn't be allowed to wear glasses from another store in our store. I stopped her at the the door and was about t point out to her that she couldn't wear those glasses in our store. She had totally forgot to switch her glasses when she got out of her car to come into work. She started to head back to her car but i was still very curious why she would ever want to buy glasses from another store when she would get a 75% off discount in our store. She told me that she had ordered them on line after a friend had told her about getting glasses from a site called Zenni Optical. I was shocked when she told me they were only $16.00 and that included her prescription lenses. Hearing that I had to take a better look at her glasses so i asked her if I could see her glasses? She took them off, handed them to me and headed to her car for her other glasses. I looked over her glasses very closely and quickly discovered they were every bit as good as anything we sold in our store for a lot more money. I even checked the prescription to see if they prescription was what my girl needed in her glasses and the prescription was prefect. I wrote down the name Zenni and not long after that I placed my first order for a family friend that was on a fixed income and needed glasses that didn't cost too much. Since then I have placed several hundred orders from Zenni.
    It nice that you got so many glasses from Zenni, but i'm surprised that you didn't get a nice pair of prescription sunglasses as well. Since you got 4 new pairs of glasses it would seem that you might be considering maybe wearing your contacts less and glasses more often? What I really like is how all 4 pairs are so different from each other. That will provide you with a different glasses look just by changing your glasses. That would probably be a very good idea since if you're like most contact wearers you probably over wear your contacts far too much anyway and your eyes probably could really do with a nice break from your contacts. But by not having prescription sunglasses i'm afraid that will limit you from wearing your glasses if you don't have prescription sunglasses to wear when driving. I wish I had a dollar for how many times i heard from people saying that the would wear their glasses more often if they had prescription sunglasses for driving. I totally get it. Yes by wearing contacts then you only need regular non=prescription sunglasses. And of course it's also very expensive when you're buying glasses from a local store to be constantly needing to change glasses every year as your prescription changes. I really hope that you go back into the Zenni site and pick out a nice pair of glasses that you think would make really great looking sunglasses and have the sunglass tint added on for just $5.00.
    I'm really curious as to why you decided to get the one pair with the blue blocking lenses in the thinner high index lens option of 1.61 abd the rest of your glasses you only got them in the 1.50 as opposed to getting those 3 with the optional ,no charge, 1.57 lenses? Even though you wear contacts, which is really the same as wearing glasses full time, the lenses of all you glasses clearly don't appear to be very strong at all. I'm sure your eyes are now dependent on either contacts or glasses now because your eyes are so used to full time correction. If you don't mind my asking what is your prescription?

      Jim Boice I have a nice pair of prescription sunglasses. I usually go without my contacts in the summer and just wear my sunglasses. I plan on ordering some sunglasses from Zenni next. They have a few pair that look like designer sunglasses. I think it’s -1/-1.25 90/85. I’m not blind I just get headaches when I don’t wear anything! haha

      I’ve been wearing contacts since the 5th grade. I’m pretty sure I wore contacts before they even had them for astigmatisms because I hated having glasses on my face. I have actually been going around without contacts a lot lately because I prefer to wear my prescription sunglasses (even when it’s cloudy). I hope their sunglasses are just as nice as their regular glasses!

    • @soundmanpt
      @soundmanpt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@emilynicoleg Thank you for your replies. So in the winter you wear contacts more often and during the summer you prefer wearing prescription sunglasses or no glasses at all. There's really no harm in doing that. At worst it could maybe cause your eyes to become more sensitive to light, but it's possible that you're already sensitive to light if you wear your prescription sunglasses on cloudy days.
      Contacts to correct astigmatisms have been around for quite a while but not the newer soft lenses. In the past if you wanted to wear contacts to correct astigmatisms they were "hard" lenses and for most people very uncomfortable to wear. The newer lenses are called "toric lenses" and they are soft and much more comfortable to wear . About the only 2 problems with them is that because there weighted they tend to rock or move around on your corneas and when they rock from side to side your eyes looses focus. The other problem is the cost. They cost about 2 or 3 times more then regular contacts that only correct distance. When you were first prescribed glasses your prescription was probably weak enough that your doctor felt that your eyes would be able to accommodate by wearing a weak distance prescription instead of astigmatisms correction. But hey can only do that as long as your need for correction is very minor. You probably started out only needing around -.75 CYL (astigmatism) and your doctor fitted you with -.50 SPH contacts. Now if your prescription is
      SPH CYL axis
      OD 0.00 -1.00 90
      OS 0.00 -1.25 85
      Your right i'm sure you're vision is actually still quite good considering that you started wearing correction in the 5th grade. So you were around 10 or 11. Things are clearer with correction of course but even though your able to see pretty well without correction going without correction with even that little of a prescription will cause you to get a headache in a very short time. Funny thing, many years ago I dated a girl that had nearly the exact same same prescription as you. She cut hair at Great Clips and she would get a headache nearly everyday around mid day and she couldn't figure out why. She went to her GP and he checked her out and finally suggested that she get her eyes checked. She thought that was going to be a waste of time and money because she could see perfectly. All during her eye exam she was sure there was nothing wrong with her eye because she was able to see every line on the eyechart perfectly. But when the doctor looked at her eyes with a "slit lamp" (bright light) he was able to determine that her eyes were football shaped, meaning that she had astigmatisms. Now she had to reread the eyechart only this time looking through the "phoropter" which means he was refracting her eyes for glasses. She was completely shocked when the doctor told her that she was going to have to start wearing glasses. Even worse she was told that she needed to wear them all the time. At the time her prescription was only -.75 in both eyes. Let me tell you, she hated the idea of wearing glasses and she was sure the doctor was wrong. She did get her glasses but she had no intention of wearing them. So she didn't. But she did at least have them in her bag anyway. The very next day at work around noon she felt a headache starting to come on. Even though she hated the idea of wearing glasses she hated headaches even worse. So she pulled out her glasses and out them on. Within 20 minutes her headache was completely gone. She kept the glasses on the rest of the day. But the nest day she again was determined not to wear her glasses. But sure enough around noon once again she felt the early signs of a headache coming on. Reluctantly she put her glasses on and again the headache was headed off. That was pretty much the last time anyone ever saw her without her glasses. After a lot of complements about how good she looked wearing glasses she finally became comfortable wearing glasses.
      Yes i have placed numerous orders for prescription sunglasses and they are really great. Remember that you don't want to look at their sunglass selection because those are non-prescription sunglasses. You need to go into their regular glasses section and find glasses that you think would look good as sunglasses and then since you must like you sunglasses to be dark and really block out the sun Zenni and i recommend the 80% gray tint. Even better if you are a bit light sensitive.
      Have a very Happy Easter!

      I’ve never worn sunglasses when driving bc my prescription is just so strong that I have my glasses on 24/7 and i hate my hard contacts. I just suffer when driving, really.

    • @soundmanpt
      @soundmanpt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@siubhanmora-bruce2952 So your sunglasses aren't prescription and just regular non-prescription which means the only way you would be able to see to drive would be to wear contacts along with your non-prescription sunglasses. Having hard contacts which aren't comfortable to wear makes that an uncomfortable option for you. So when driving on bright sunny days you only have your prescription glasses to wear which has to somewhat blinding to you when driving facing the sun. I'm sure you do suffer.
      No matter how strong your glasses are you can still get sunglasses made in your prescription. You can even order a really nice pair on line for as little as $12.00. Check out Zenni Optical (zenni.com) and they have regular single vision glasses starting at $6.95 and you simply add on the sunglass tint you want for an extra $5.00. Shipping is only $5.00. They also have several hundred for $13.00 so with the sunglass tint added they would only be $18.00.

      I think the quality is comparable to more expensive glasses. I have a pair of designer glasses and honestly they’re just as good. It also probably depends on which frames you buy. I’m one of those people who go through EVERY review before I buy something. I would definitely check the reviews on the frames before buying!

    So what were some of the differences between the high index versus the standard 1.5? (Optical clarity, less eye fatigue)

    • @emilynicoleg
      @emilynicoleg  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Max77 The lower index has slightly more of a yellow tint. It’s even more noticeable outside. I haven’t noticed a difference in eye fatigue though.

    I HATE ZENNI!
    I’ve been a customer for three
    years, ordering at least two pairs of prescription glasses a year-just for fun.
    They have a great selection and amazing prices. They used to have great
    customer service and stood behind their products. That all changed this year.
    *January 2019- I ordered a new pair of prescription glasses. This time the
    prescription in the right lens was incorrect. Sent it back and told it was Zenni’s mistake. They made a new pair of prescription
    glasses with the same frame. Three months later, I received my replacement, but
    the left nose guard was missing. U contacted Zenni and was told they would send me a new nose
    guard. I received it in May, but couldn't put it on the wire nose prop. The
    plastic was stuck together. Contacted Zenni AGAIN. After
    trying all of the customer service person's hints on what to do, even though I
    told him it the tiny plastic nub was stuck together; leaving no room for it to
    slip onto the wire, his solution was for Zenni to ship me
    replacement frames. Then I would only have to pop out the lens from the broken
    frame and pop them into the new frames. I don't feel comfortable POPPING out
    prescription lens. At this point, I am frustrated! I ask if I can send the
    glasses back for a credit, so I can buy another pair of glasses with different
    frames. I’m told that I will only get 50% credit, because the second pair of
    glasses was partially paid for with credit Zenni gave me from the first pair of glasses that was
    badly made???? I tried to talk to a supervisor, but no one wanted to help me. I
    gave up talking to a wall of indifference and decided to take off the remaining
    nose guard from the second pair of prescription glasses I received and wear
    them as back up glasses. PLUS, I’M NEVER ORDERING FROM ZENNI AGAIN. I don't
    know if they changed management at the beginning of 2019 or just stopped caring
    about customers. I promised them I would be telling everyone within the sound
    of my voice to never buy from Zenni from now one.
    Plus, I plan on using social media and GOOGLE to warn other people about their
    change of customer and quality service.. SHAME ON ZENNI FOR TREATING A VALUED
    CUSTOMER SO POORLY!

      @@emilynicoleg This was my ninth pair. Something happened with quality control at Zenni this year. However, after posting my ire online, Zenni has given me full credit for another pair of glasses. Hooray for social media! In the past, I would have been out of luck. I will not order the same frames, though.
