Eduard Strauss indeed, otherwise may be called "the undeservedly overlooked, but stubbornly talented musical genius of the Strauss clan", with his Interpretationen, as reinterpreted by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, that seems to be a big favourite of the uploader, as seen in many uploads. The lifeline of Eduard Strauss stands probably the closest to that of Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, regarding the lifespan between the years 1835 and 1916, which makes the Emperor's life only five years longer than that of Eduard Strauss, in the same period. It may seem symbolical that by the year 1873, the Emperor was through different battles, wars and state-level agreements, entering a relative period of peace, before the deaths of two crown princes and an upcoming Great War. It might have left an inspiration on this waltz, which is like a blend of covers of different polkas, waltzes, mazurkas, and other dance suites, all included in a 12-minute opus, that is equally divided into slower and faster paces, switching between them interludes led by a brass and strings section. It may be a musical summary of sorts, that summarizes a rather eventful period of time, that affected an empire (Austro-Hungary), and also a nearly middle-aged composer and a probably equally hard working royal emperor. Or probably an essence thst captures 19th century Europe itself. The painting in the video by a Polish artist, although probably not very well known, but gives a fine "still life" feel to the accompaniment of this great waltz, not to mention the Polish influence on all of the life work of the Strauss family. Thanks for the (great as ever) upload!
It is a really beautiful music - you could literally say: a delightful interpretation of "Interpretationen"! Perhaps the excellent "Doctrinen" still remains Eduard's most popular waltz, but works such as op. 97 should also be assessed at the same mastery level. In this subtle and refined waltz we can see the composer's very characteristic ability to create enchanting contrasts using the minor and major keys, e.g. 5:15 and next sections. This element is one of the unique features of Eduard's style.

Obra prima de Eduard Strauss!!
A very magnificent waltz by Eduard Strauss. Strauss' Doctrtinen Waltz is also a very beautiful waltz I had ever heard in my life. Top notch!
На мой взгляд, это один из лучших вальсов Эдуарда.

My favourite Eduard Strauss Waltz
Lovely waltz Adam. And you picked such lovely painting.

It's between "Doctrinen" and "Fesche Geister," for "most popular."
