- It’s Blu-ray Tuesday so I decided to go and grab a few titles. I also stopped at Half Priced Books after Best Buy. I also decided to do a rant about my frustration with Best Buy. They have had extremely poor customer service lately. They’re refusing to help. They ship extremely poorly. They’re overcharging for steelbooks. The worst part is if you call them they won’t do a darn thing to help you. What did you end up grabbing today?

Just found your channel, always nice to encounter another physical media collector! I too am not a huge fan of The Big Lebowski, glad to know I’m not alone. I used to work at Best Buy’s corporate office, I can tell you that the profit margin on physical media is TINY, which is why they have dramatically reduced store shelf space for the category, despite that’s how Best Buy got its start. Last time I was in Half Price Books I was very surprised by the asking prices for the DVDs and Blu-rays. Honestly I’ve been shopping Big Lots, Dollar Tree, and Dollar General.
Thanks a lot! Hopefully you enjoy some of my future content. I definitely understand that the profits on physical media is extremely minimal. But I just feel like they do nothing to help with damaged product. And I just get the feeling they don’t care at all when you contact them. It’s very frustrating. The Big Lebowski was okay. It just didn’t live up to all the hype for me.

I'm with you on Best Buy Bob... at the very least I hope they stop carrying movies and media all together. They're removing it from most of their stores, so the sooner they stop getting exclusive steelbooks the better. Their shipping/packaging is horrible and their customer service is just about as bad. I would LOVE to see some smaller vendors get into the market in the US.
I absolutely agree man. I just want them to stop carrying exclusive steelbooks. They don’t care about them so why keep getting them? Money would be the answer. But then they should treat them a little better.
Blind buying is one of the best parts about being a collector. Yes, There are some gems and some bad ones but you’ll never know until you give it a watch. Like for example I’m collecting the entire Kino Lorber 4K line and most of the titles I’ve never heard of but watching them all I’ve found some great movies.
I couldn’t possibly agree more. Kino Lorber is putting out some great 4K’s. I’m also trying to collect them all. Hopefully we keep getting some hidden gems.

Dude! I had a very similar experience with Best Buy this past month with the Hunger Games Steelbook collection. First one was thrown in a box, arrived damaged. Second one was thrown in a poly bag, arrived damaged. I asked my local store to order one for in-store pickup to avoid the shipping damage and the employee said they took away his ability to order certain media to the store... Ended up finding one in great condition on eBay! Guess I should've done that in the first place.
Now that’s ridiculous you had to result to eBay. It should’ve never gotten to that point for you. Sorry you had such an awful experience too.
Hey Bob in my country canada Toronto best buy canada does not have 2 guns weird its universal studios, I got my copy of Guardians of the galaxy vol 3 4k earlier in the mail

It's horrible, but you have to be really assertive, borderline aggressive with their return policy.

I gave up on Best Buy when they went from a movie section to a few rows. They don't give one crap about anything other then getting your cash....and barely that even. I go in there maybe 2 times per six months
I totally get it. They’ve dwindled the movie section down to hardly anything. They really don’t care anymore.
Enjoyed the video! I rarely shop at Best Buy for physical media. I prefer to wait till I can catch a sale. I myself would rather thrift, I like the surprise element I guess that comes with thrifting and lets be honest the price! 😂 Great little haul!
I totally agree! I also enjoy the surprises that come with Blu-ray hunting. And like you said it’s usually nice and cheap
I hope things eventually change, but I do not see it happening. It is very disappointing how they just seem oblivious about the collectors.
They honestly don’t care about physical media anymore. I understand the profit margins are minimal. But they can at least put more effort into the packaging and have better customer service.

Great pickups. I would have pulled the trigger on mischief and less then zero. Out of the both. Less then zero maybe one day will get a blu.. but mischief I don't ever see it going to blu.
I'm not a fan of modern day comedies I feel there watered down and to pc. 80's comedies are my jam. But think like a man is so funny. 2nd one is good too.

Best Buy makes me nausious anymore. I'm proud that you stood your ground and getting them to return that Vacation Steelbook! That was def f'ed up on how they handled that. Nice pick ups and I could listen to you go on and rant all night!

Ouch Bob you really want Best Buy to go down LOL but in all seriousness that really sounds horrible I haven't been into a best buy in years Because I don't live in America anymore but I also heard that some best buys have gotten rid of their movie section all together first it was CDs then movies and probably video games soon Best Buy what happened to you? That place used to be such a joy to go into. I prefer half price books but I also haven't been into one in many many years I tend to overspend when I go there because they have such a huge selection of physical media.
