I watched MJ hit the last shot on a 13" black & white from my prison cell. All I remember is the sound of the whole unit going bonkers! Great memory.

The 14’s are hands down my favorite silhouette. I remember those finals. I had candy canes and the Laneys in OGs. Never copped these back then, I’m stoked I can now tho.

These and the CC 14s are my favorite shoes of all time. I was a senior in high school and they just take me back to simpler days.
Just ordered a pair off ebay the 2005 version my favorite. And they were only worn 3 times. Look dang near brand new for 203 after taxes. Before it was 180 plus shipping. Comes with original box and retro card
Random , but this is a question for you and for WearTesters If they happen to see this message .. but there’s been 4 different releases of this shoe … the 1999, 2005, 2011 & 2018 … to your knowledge which version would you say is the best to hoop in ?

I remember watching game 6 and then rewatching over and over trying to get a good look at the shoes he was wearing seeing as how they most definitely weren't the 13s which were his latest at the time and was so psyched just to get a peek at what his next shoes were gonna be

king_ryan_james me too. my brother had it way back 1999, i was trying to wear it but are way loose. ive been waiting for this since last year. but im thinking if i really need it. can't wear it as an everyday shoe for work. looks too heavy to walk on
Reyn Lou Orallo they actually aren’t that heavy. I had the white and green ones from 2016 and they’re very light compared to how they look. That being said, I like lebrons more than Jordan’s from here on out now that they’re bringing them back. That’s just me though.
king_ryan_james nice. i wish get the indiglos when it was on sale at nike factory for 125. i like that colorway better than this one
king_ryan_james Lebrons 2 and 3 are my favorite models now that I've been seeing that some will start to retro. After that I think it's the 11 and 12. The rest are just a no go for me. Jordan Brand still good in some ways.

I've wanted these since I first saw them...in 2005. I had absolutely zero knowledge of Jordan shoes at the time but the color and model stuck in my head. I'm so happy these are coming back and I will DEFINITELY be picking up a pair. Iconic!
Yup, I practiced the shot over and over again in my driveway too. Let's see I would've just turned 12 prior to the 98 finals. I had an adjustable height rim cemented into the driveway, I even had the paint, hash marks, restricted area, free-throw line all painted into the driveway lol. My parents did that for me and I remember all the kids in the neighborhood came to my house to play ball because I had the biggest driveway plus having the court markings was so cool as a kid lol.
But beyond a shadow of a doubt, I was practicing MJ's fade-away the most. I had these shoes when they came out but I didn't like them as much as the 11s or 12s. The 11 concords will always be my favorite Jordan. I was one of the lucky kids to convince my mom to buy them for me. I think they were selling for like $80 in those days, in kid sizes.

The air Jordan 14 is honesty in my top 3 Jordan of all time they don’t seem to get a lot of love from people but I love them and this and the black toe are my favorite color ways. Beyond excited to cop on the 14th.

I remember I had the original version of these, my uncle gave them to me when I was 7 he'd had em since they came out, I beat them to the point they fell apart. Definitely picking up for the nostalgia.

I do remember watching that game at my cousin's house. They were rooting for Utah and I was the only Bulls/MJ fan there.. And he hit that shot.. I jumped and yelled "yeah!!!" And they were quiet.

Those 14s are my favorite next to the blue/white/gray 13s. They became my favorite shoe to ball in. I definitely will be coppin these when they come out.

Have the black toe and the last shot pairs from 99 purchased when I was still in Chicago back then now in Scottsdale AZ. Worn and only played in them on wooden courts a couple of times then and have not worn them since. Still smell like new every time I take them out of the box, kept the receipts too. Only issue I have with both pairs is the paint they used on the sides of the midsole (got sticky overtime) but still smell the same when I first bought them in 99. MJ still the GOAT imo.
I played my last indoor game with these bad boys last week. One of my knees is too damaged to play real games indoors. So I bought these for that last game and last shot. A quite simple mid court baseline shot I did before the last buzzer hit and that was it. My knee can rest now. I will hoop outside though, can't think about the idea not playing at all.
About the shoes, these are very nice to play in if you tighten them up well. Lots of grip and they don't overheat your feet. A bit stiff at the beginning but not mentionable, Normaly I play in XX9s, best basketball shoe of all time. Thanks for the great review,

Do these fit like the indiglo retro? It had a lot more padding then older 14 retros. I had to buy a half size bigger than in the past.

These were the last Jordans I ever bought original. I loved them. My fav are still the XI for style and the XII to play in. But these were sexy as hell! Then they came with the "clitoris" XV which I got as a gift but never enjoyed much because they were really really stiff on court.

all retros after 13s are a DUB
The term “Retro” is only used when a shoe is remade/reissued. Every Air Jordan after the 13 are not simply “Retros”. They have specific numbers all the way up to the current Air Jordan 32. In this case, you’re trying to say each Air Jordan “model” after the 13 is a... “DUB”? Maybe you meant “DUD”? At any rate, itd benefit you if you learned the history and proper terminology for something you’re interested in so you don’t come across as ignorant or “new” to the sneaker thing.

Oh shoot that makes perfect sense now. My pair from 2011/12(can't remember exactly) I blew out the mid sole in a game, jab step foot kept going( I was so salty) Makes sense now the materials were bad(had no clue) Can't wait to get a fresh pair. I still have my old ones. Gonna be lacing these bad boys up no question to hoop in! Good stuff as always Nightwing 💪🏽
