Once in a while he puts in a defensive effort, mostly he's a fly by guy who could carry eggs in his pants without cracking them. What impresses is that he is so talented, he'll get his 60-80 points without breaking a sweat. I hope he proves me wrong, but I can't remember a time when he actually hit someone. If he doesn't see an opportunity to steal a puck he never gets involved in a play. Knifes will sacrifice his body to make a play, Nylander and Marner, never.

They can apply for exceptional status in the AHL for Cowan. Seattle did it last year for Shane Wright.
