Teen Attempts World Record by Swinging on Play Set

- For more than a day, one teen acted like a child again, swinging on a play set for 33 hours. Charlie O'Brien was attempting to break a world record which was last set in 2013. A woman swung for a little more than 32 hours. Charlie did stop to take breaks to drink, eat and go to the bathroom. The Guinness Book of World Records has not validated Charlie's attempts yet. #InsideEdition
I was amazed that someone could spend all this time swinging on a swing for a day and a half just to find out that he had 5 minute breaks every hour. Someone tell me how this is a world record when you had breaks?

I was his the organiser and event manager of this, its not stopping every hour it’s getting 5 minutes for every hour completed to use whenever he wanted, Charlie went 4 hours and took 5 minutes every 4 hours so that when it got to the evening he had enough time saved up to have a nap! :)

for all the confused people in the comment section: I’m Kate, I was Charlie’s event manager for this record attempt! Guinness rules say that he gets rewarded 5 minutes of break time for every hour he completed! He did not have a break every hour though, on the first day he would have a 5 minute break every 4 hours so that when it got to the evening he had saved up enough time to have a nap. Yes this is allowed it’s stated in the rules. This was an official record attempt that he applied for and got accepted to attempt. There was not an official there as that costs $7000 but that is not needed, as there is the option of providing your own evidence so we had the whole event filmed and a lot of paperwork to fill out!
