Might simply be, the best song Michael has ever performed & that’s not an easy thing to say about such a powerful musical icon…..Thank you Tom for writing such a wonderful movement, not a song but a movement of emotion’s that can bring tears to anyone who dares to listen to it….just stunning work sir🤘🏾
I loved this song since i was a child i listened to it thru out my life and thought Michaels wrote it i so fell in love with him because of this verry song. I felt this song
One missing evidence to show how sincere MJ was. Breaking into tears every single time he sings it. Based on real soul and heart pain, soaring up.. Love it
Tom,, this is one of the most heartfelt songs ever,, I have loved,, loved it for years,, MJ was exquisite, I could feel his pain,,, thank god for Quincy Jones ( and you),, PS,, love the way you put things right out there,,, Italian girl here,, muah BRAVO
It is a really special and beautiful song. I would like to hear his own rendition in full. I'm sure he will have made much more money from the MJ version than anyone else but I don't think it really suits the song and artistically it would be a much better song to this day if it had been recorded by someone with a deeper voice. He's obviously not complaining about it though!
Thank you Tom for this song. I just had my breakup few days ago upon writing this, and it hurts me so much. I learned this song way back 1998 from 98 Degrees. Loved it since then, but never have I thought that I will relate to it and use it as my goodbye song to my ex. This means a lot to me.
Thank you for writing such a beautiful song. I've always loved how Michael performs it. It feels very raw and full of so much emotion. Fantastic backstory.
It just wasn't a rat song. It was one the best peformed ballads I heard when I was a kid. I did not care about the poor rat when I listened it. I cared about the message, the arrangment and the vocal performance of MJ
Tom, your song is nothing short of a masterpiece. Since you were in NYC at roughly the same time Karen was recording her solo album, it would've been great if you could've contributed something similar for her. What might have been...
damn! such a beautiful song! it just reminds me Still by Commodores. Anyway this was the grooming song for Michael's concerts. Sinatra did not sang it but Sammy did
THANK GOD ALMIGHTY FOR TH-cam AND WHOEVER INVENTED TH-cam , BECAUSE WITHOUT TH-cam , PEOPLE LIKE ME WILL NEVER GET TO HEAR THESE GOLDEN CLASSIC STORIES , NEVER ON NATIONAL TV CABLE ETC
You know they talk about Michael before he did OFF The Wall. On The JACKSONS“DESTINY“ ALBUM Michael sang some awesome young adult songs. Go back and listen to that album, it was the precursor for OFF THE WALL. Brilliant songs on that album as well.
No disrespect, but it pains me to hear Quincy and people around him continue to act like Michael Jackson had no hits since 1973 orballads since Ben. He claims him and Mike were close but was unaware of his catalog?

I'm glad that the actual songwriters, musicians and players finally get their credits. Because for 99,999% of fans "MJ did all by himself"!
well he did write mjority of his songs
@StevenHombessa do you realize how he "compose"?

@@sophiaamancioo22 Lmao , He's confusing this song for Ben. ''Ben'' was dedicated to a rat.
