Easy. The suit doesn't fit him. It's way too big. Look how much it balloons in the chest when he's sitting down. Also, would not have picked those colors.
It has to be a prop suit for a skit or something, that's why it's so cheap and ill-fitting. But looking at how all three of these guys are dressed basically encapsulates the randomness of RLM in a nutshell.

Ive never even played any of the games and I'm 100% confident the story is more coherent and interesting than the movie. It's pretty sad that the best video game movie is probably the first Silent Hill movie with Radha Mitchell. The director was actually a fan of the game and spent years and years trying to get the rights to make it. I just beat the latest Resident Evil game, which is basically the Batman Beginsening of a franchise that had been Batman and Robining for years. Resident Evil is a really fascinating franchise to me because, when the first game came out it was The Scariest Thing In The World in the eyes of 10 year-old me and it took months to work up the courage to rent it. And even today the first game is still pretty tense. But then Resident Evil jumped the shark harder than almost any other franchise, and these movies are the perfect embodiment of that. Fun trivia fact: the first game took place in a dark and spooky mansion, provided very little ammo, and featured almost zero people attacking dogs with karate.
@@roach9397 That's a joke right? Only long time fans can withstand Rich. There are comments all over these videos about Rich ruining them. Or roommates getting mad because of "the old lady cackling". There isn't a single scene in ANY Resident Evil movie that merits laughing hysterically for five minutes. It's bad but it's not funny bad. There's less obnoxious laughter in Suburban Sasquatch, which is actually funny bad. You gotta be crazy if you think more people are here for Rich's laugh than have been driven away by it.
The thing about these movies is that they tried to make the Resident Evil series seem like this crazy action shootbang series of games when really you're trying to not die from all these zombies and other BOW's while trying to conserve all your supplies and make it out of the situation.
I'm watching this in 2020 during the apocalyptic feeling global quarantine as part of a multi-day marathon on this channel's content and all I can think about while watching this video is how young and unscathed by time Jay looks here. Man, if he only knew back then what hell lay before him.
At first I hated the Resident Evil movies because of how greatly they deviated from the game. But then I actually watched them and learned to hate them for their own merits. Terrible writing, boring action scenes, bland characters, forgettable music and not even remotely scary, aside from the fear of future instalments. Plus, I just abhor the character of Alice. She seems to represent everything that's wrong with "strong" female action characters. She lacks any heart or humanity. She has little to no character development. She overshadows more interesting characters. She's so overpowered that she never seems in any real danger. It doesn't help that her action scenes are so blatantly staged. And she always has this ridiculous "super serious" scowl plastered over her face. It really makes me miss characters like Sarah Connor or Ellen Ripley.
In terms of music, you have to admit that at least in terms of quality and memorable moments, "Seizure of Power" by Marilyn Manson from the first film and "The Outsider" remix from Afterlife in the ridiculous fight scene were pretty good pieces of music. But yes, the film series, whether they are being compared to the video games or just as stand-alone cinema, are complete rubbish.
Mylon Requiem that Manson track so perfectly evokes the feeling of a slowly encroaching zombie horde. It's creepier than anything else in any of the films.
Greg Willson Yeah, the "Main Theme", "Seizure of Power", and "Cleansing" are why I enjoyed the film when I saw it. But other than that, yes, there isn't much value in PWS Anderson's Resident Evil, or the rest of the film franchise for that matter.
Alice reminds me of Lightning from Final Fantasy 13. I still don't know why or how some people actually like her. I just can't figure it out for the life of me.

They forgot to mention that George Romero was actually hired to direct the first movie but was later fired by the studio because his ideas weren’t dumb enough. The studio claimed he was let go because of a “fundamental disagreement over the direction of the story and shooting style.” I’d say that’s pretty obvious.
@@vde1846 People who have read the original Romero script for Resident Evil claimed that it was a pretty faithful adaptation of the original game. I would have been overjoyed to see what he might have done with it. Instead, we got Paul W.S. Anderson; writer, producer and/or director of classics like Alien vs Predator, Death Race 1, 2 & 3, $hopping, Soldier, and Mortal Kombat.
I'm sure someone has already pointed this out already, if I wasn't so lazy I'd check, but then I'd miss out on that sweet sense of superiority, so: the scene that broke you, is, ironically, probably the closest those movies ever got to the games. Almost shot for shot in parts - the biggest difference is, in the movie, Chris and Claire Redfield are basically useless, because Anderson wanted his damn wife to have the spotlight. In the games, they are the main characters, and aren't floating around like spare dicks at an orgy. Wesker can, and does, move like that in the games, and he is also part monster. Those dogs with the split head are in the games. I think it's interesting how the sequence that made you lose y'all minds is probably the most accurate one you've seen.
The only thing I enjoyed about the trilogy is the progression of the infection. In the first it's contained on the underground facility, in the 2nd one it's in a city and on the 3rd one the entire world is already infected.
Unfortunately the scene that broke them was the only scene out of FIVE MOVIES that was actually from the games, awful as it may have translated.. These movies are worse than just terrible movies, they're a great injustice to the games, which many still hold dear.
the scene from the game however made a lot more sense and was easier to believe becasue they built the character of wesker up to that point... and the way it's shown in the game is not has cringe and stupid as the way they shot it live action...
That fit if laughter that Rich went into during the Wesker acrobatics is hands down one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed 😊 My side's and face hurt from laughing so much 😅

Wait we had 15 years of Resident Evil films?
*grabs shotgun*
I'll go first.
18:35 - This is the moment in which Rich Evans basically goes into "I CAN'T!" laughter mode. Then, Mike and Jay do too. LMAO!
That ending sequence is pure gold.
Binge watching all these Resident Evil movies is just brutal 😂
I can't believe Rich Evans is dressed as Barry Burton
underrated comment. where’s his trusty “companion” (magnum)?
Goddamn that laughter at the end is infectious.
if it wasn't for the fact that there's a part 2 to this review I would've assumed they all fucking died at the end, just dead from mindfuck laughter brain hemmorage.
They forgot to mention that George Romero was actually hired to direct the first movie but was later fired by the studio because his ideas weren’t dumb enough. The studio claimed he was let go because of a “fundamental disagreement over the direction of the story and shooting style.” I’d say that’s pretty obvious.
And considering it's post 80's George Romero, that's saying something. I mean, have you *seen* City of the Dead?
@@vde1846 People who have read the original Romero script for Resident Evil claimed that it was a pretty faithful adaptation of the original game. I would have been overjoyed to see what he might have done with it. Instead, we got Paul W.S. Anderson; writer, producer and/or director of classics like Alien vs Predator, Death Race 1, 2 & 3, $hopping, Soldier, and Mortal Kombat.
@@KPX-nl4nt I have no doubt it would have at the very least been a lot more interesting than than the extremely bland RE1 that we got.
the laughter is the best...love the pure joy of it
Resident Evil was the raddest shit ever when I was eight.
Something about the opening scenes about this episode is really comfy. Just reminds me of a slow summer evening at work
Rich Evan's laugh is the best 😂
Umbrella Corp. makes Weyland-Yutani look like Proctor & Gamble.
Rich’s laugh gets me every time. Best laugh ever. 😂😂😂
That laugh is beautiful and infectious.
Every once in a while I just watch the last three minutes of this and crack up.
This was the episode where I discovered Rich Evans... My life has never been the same since...
Rich’s laugh can make even the coldest of hearts smile
Richs laugh is so contagious!
The only thing I enjoyed about the trilogy is the progression of the infection. In the first it's contained on the underground facility, in the 2nd one it's in a city and on the 3rd one the entire world is already infected.
Then it stops progressing until the final movie where you see evolved creatures and wasteland aftermath from it all.
Rich cackling at the exploding motorcycle is what I came for, and this video delivered
It's so cute that they split this into two parts to avoid having a 40-minute video.
This is the movie where they laugh hysterically for 10 minutes
On the next Resident Evil boxset cover: "Sheer Terror" Mike Stoklasa, Red Letter Media
Rich's laugh is brilliant, just brings joy to your heart.
Are we all just going to ignore Rich's stellar interpretation of "Juggle Your Way To Health & Beauty"???
I needed that laugh so much. SO MUCH.
The laugh of Rich Evans just makes me happy
I just wish we could have a horror/thriller based from the first game
I need to see all of that "Juggle along"-video. What is it? Who made it? WHY?
What do you mean "Why?"
For health and beauty.
That fit if laughter that Rich went into during the Wesker acrobatics is hands down one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed 😊 My side's and face hurt from laughing so much 😅
