Pitts Modern School, Gomia celebrated Rath Yatra

- The assembly ground of Pitts Modern School, Gomia thronged with students wearing vibrant coloured house uniform and teachers, celebrating the Rath Yatra, replicating the traditional festival of Puri, Orissa. It was a vibrant and joyous occasion that showcased the rich cultural heritage of our country and unity in diversity.
Students carried Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra in beautifully decorated chariot, which was the highlight of the day. In this special assembly students from various grades participated, dressed in traditional attire, adding color and charm to the procession. The school band played traditional music, creating an atmosphere of spiritual exuberance. Students performed classical dance on the melody that captivated the audience. The performance not only entertained but also educated the students about the historical and religious significance of Rath Yatra. A speech was also presented on this occasion by student, highlighting the origin and importance of the event.
Principal Sir started his speech with the chant of “Jai Jagannath’ and congratulated the students for their exuberant effort and spoke about the importance of celebrating events like this in the school. He also encouraged the students to respect their culture and heritage as it provides a sense of history and identity. Mr. Arindam Dasgupta, Vice-Chairman, Gomia School Society, has expressed his immense pleasure and extended his heartfelt congratulation on the successful completion of the event. Mr. Abhishek Biswas MCM, Orica, has commended the students and school administration for their commitment towards nurturing and encouraging cultural events in school. He appreciated the seamless effort and enthusiasm of the students. The event was a grand success, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a renewed sense of cultural pride.
