Damn. So friggin good. Saw a version of this at the Exit In in Nashville, some year back. Small venue amazingness. Right up there for me, best live performances ever. KW an amazing songwriter.
Beneath My Wheels Kevin Welch Long ago and when I was young before this endless rain Fell down to my knees and made a deal I gambled love for money all for earthly gain To spin the world around beneath my wheels Distances were nothing to me time was everything I borrowed everything I could not steal Yeah and I'm growin older now and I keep remembering The promises I broke beneath my wheels Beneath my wheels kingdom comes There is still so much to be done You stop your singing let the wind lie still Here the highway whinein yeah, beneath my wheels The devil dreams of me all day and I dream of him all night In my dreams I never made that deal There's a part of me keeps thinking i could somehow make it right If I just put a few more miles beneath my wheels Beneath my wheels kingdom comes There is still so much to be done You stop your singing let the wind lie still Here the highway whinein yeah, beneath my wheels Beneath my wheels kingdom comes There is still so much to be done You stop your singing let the wind lie still Here the highway whinein yeah, beneath my wheels Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Kevin Stephen Welch
Thanks for the help. I think in my fog I was remembering that video (def. the blonde & the roughhousing) but the song, "Til I See You Again" (It's interesting getting old). Now, if I could just find Jimmy Dale Gilmore doing "After Awhile" on Austin City Limits. I'm not giving up - never thought I'd see Patrick Sky doing "Everytime" on here or, Mylon's first album-his band was the future Atlanta Rhythm Section. I just thought of Lisa Angelle "I Wear Your Love"
Somebody help me out here. One of the first times I remember seeing Kevin in a video someone was chasing him kinda out in the country in front of an old single wide .... done got too old to remember any more of the details. (maybe too much Led and Spirit back in the day) I just remember it was a cool song.
Played this at my dad's services, here's to ya old man. Damn I miss you.
What an amazing song and band ! Kevin is one of the best to ever do it.

Thank you so much for keeping it simple and being real. The world is starving for this. Great song.
I heard this 17 or so years ago and it only gets better every single time!🎉
Come on back Kevin!!
I've been a fan since the late 80's. He is an amazing talent. I've seen him at the Blue Door in OKC. It's one of the best small venues I've been to.

Beneath My Wheels
Kevin Welch
Long ago and when I was young before this endless rain
Fell down to my knees and made a deal
I gambled love for money all for earthly gain
To spin the world around beneath my wheels
Distances were nothing to me time was everything
I borrowed everything I could not steal
Yeah and I'm growin older now and I keep remembering
The promises I broke beneath my wheels
Beneath my wheels kingdom comes
There is still so much to be done
You stop your singing let the wind lie still
Here the highway whinein yeah, beneath my wheels
The devil dreams of me all day and I dream of him all night
In my dreams I never made that deal
There's a part of me keeps thinking i could somehow make it right
If I just put a few more miles beneath my wheels
Beneath my wheels kingdom comes
There is still so much to be done
You stop your singing let the wind lie still
Here the highway whinein yeah, beneath my wheels
Beneath my wheels kingdom comes
There is still so much to be done
You stop your singing let the wind lie still
Here the highway whinein yeah, beneath my wheels
