+Aegean Epiphany Where do you see similarities with Jeti? In formfactor and that the screen is outside on the upper part? It reminds me of Jeti less than a smartphone of any other one....
Very nice preview. I thought it was going to be a tray radio, so I wasn't interested in it. But you showed that it is designed to be hand held. I hope the price is closer to $400, then I may be able to afford it.
very nice review~ is it possible to use the "screen" as a FPV video monitor? with the 6-position switch I think this Tx is designed with APM in-mind. a problem with some APM pilots now is we need to clamp a FPV monitor AND a smartphone onto the Tx. This way we have all the OSD telemetry information from FPV video and we have Tower running on the smartphone. This setup on one Tx is already heavier than 1.3kg! If Horus allows us to switch its screen to display FPV video, APM pilots need only clamp a smartphone onto it. The overall setup is going to be less clumsy; smartphone can be placed easily on Tx without blocking FPV screen; and switching between FrTX control GUI and FPV video are VERY COOL!! thanks
I thought APM / Open pilot was dead...replaced with CC3D Revo and libre pilot? I have a APM2.6 board but was not sure if I could use it (never setup an APM before)/or just bin it for CC3D...I belive libre still has PC control with the telemetry radio units and all the stuff from APM correct?
+IryxBRO Aerials There's some very serious work for Horus support in OpenTX GitHub. One of the lead developers has a preview Horus, therefore OpenTX will most be available when the sales start. Can't wait to get one :-)
+Andrey Mironov yes, I know that and follow the news on OpenTX development for Horus. This is the best possible FW for such feature saturated HW. Moreover, there is a team of beta-testers working close with FrSKY company on FrTX OS in order to polish all functions and features of the radio. We all are trying to do our best for this TX to become perfect.
OK So mow I have my Horus I can compare to the Jeti DC-16 and DC-24. 1.) Build quality is better on the Jeti. 2.) Setting up dual/redundant RX is easier on Jeti. Telem and sensor display setup is much easier on the Jeti (I can display each Lipo cell voltage and set an alarm/custom WAV for the lowest cell voltage. 3.) The input buttons are far superior on the Jeti - so is the input logic. 4.) Setting up an alarm on the Horus for e.g. GPS elevation below 100m had me going into the Logical switch and then the Special function menu - I can do all this from one menu on the Jet. SO what do I think of the Horus? GREAT VALUE. But I'll be sticking to Jeti for my bigger models.
AHll effect - yes!! That's progress - well done guys
