This conception of what a brass ensemble should be is wonderful. First of all, the music and the musicality, which conceals the amazing virtuosity of the performers with a great impression of ease. In other famous brass ensembles it's the other way around: almost pornographic technical feats where only one absent element is missed: the music. But the brass of the Concertgebouw orchestra possess the same refinement and delicacy as the strings of the Concertgebouw orchestra.
Crisp and AWE inspiring due to such good articulation and entries. Balance is spot-on... in which all voices share with their own unique contribution, whereby making the performance a MASTERPIECE.
Delightful! Platée is an opera in a prologue and three acts which premiered at festivities for a royal wedding at Versailles in 1745. Rameau is also remembered today for his 1722 Treatise on Harmony which was fundamental to Western music theory.
One French horn, and 2 tubas. Wow!! But I what I noticed is that the trumpets are not all shiny. My husband has an old Bach - loves the sound. It's a little beat up. He plays in and manages a brass quintet (they are pretty good ....) but he won't use the Bach because of the way it looks. I've told him he's nuts and have just asked him to watch this video. Magnificent sound! Awesome musicality. Such a pleasure to listen to! And, who cares if the instruments are not perfectly shiny silver?? Thank you for being the good example!
This is my "go to" track on TH-cam at the moment - I've bought the music so my brass ensemble #montpellierbrassensemble can have a go - my wife (who's heard a few good trumpet players in the past [Wynton Marsalis, Mark Bennett and recordings of everyone]) tells me there is no way we can play this! You guys are AWESOME. When are you playing over the next 6 months: we might be able to travel to Amsterdam to hear you.
I've just bought the music so my brass ensemble #montpellierbrassensemble can rehearse this music - after practicing the first trumpet 🎺 part down an octave I have even more respect for you guys! Awesome playing guys. Any chance you will come to the UK?

Que maravilha ouvir J. P. Rameau com esse talentosíssimo grupo de metais da Royal Concertgebouw. LINDO, LINDO!
STUNNING playing. Just gorgeous!!!
What a pure sound
Unglaublich ... diese Musik von Rameau musiziert, von den mit besten Blechbläsern dieser Zeit ...🎉🎉🎉
Played trumpet for 14 years then put it down for 10 years. Recently dove back into it head first. Things like this are very inspirational thank you.
I would enjoy listening to this premiere group play anything!
Incredible purity sound👏👏👏
So very very nice - @Jacco G., reminds me of the good old days in Rotterdam, some 27 years ago.
Fantastic music, playing and what an arrangement. All so well done. Thank you all.

Ask Klaus Fehr! He made it.
