@@debbieleonard9160 She was raised in Derry during the Troubles. She knows about what she's speaking here. This is from the heart. I would love to find out how this episode was received in Ireland.
Agreed. Celtic music is gorgeous and this episode had some great examples of it. I love when composers add little touches to background scores like that.
One thing, which I have always loved about "Touched By An Angel", is that many of the episodes spoke of truths & happenings to which many wanted to turn a blind eye in this world!! Many don't know or care about such horrific things as those which have happened between the Protestants & Catholics in Ireland throughout the years, & how it has affected the young people growing up, surrounded by those events!! The Good Friday Agreement, which was signed in April 1998, was a wonderful thing & a step towards a promise of peace for the children of Ireland!! Thank you to the "Touched By An Angel" cast & crew for making the episode from which this clip came -- "Life Before Death"!! Not just an episode of a tv show, but an episode which revolved around a part of history in Ireland!! If you don't know about it or think "oh, that's not here", you really should research & learn about it, for history repeats itself when mankind doesn't learn from it -- it may not be necessarily in Ireland, nor between Protestants & Catholics as in this episode, but things do still happen when mankind doesn't learn!!
As a part-Irish woman who was raised Catholic, let's raise eachother up, no matter what religion we are. Let's not fight anymore. We all give thanks to the same God. Let's repair the broken 💖
I remember watching it when it originally aired back in 2000. As an American kid (I was 11-12 at the time), this episode was what first introduced me to The Troubles. Mom and I even had a discussion about them after the show, so if this episode was meant to inform people who maybe weren't aware of the conflict, it did its job, at least for me.
I love how he says “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph”. You can tell that, unlike many people in this situation, he doesn’t say it as if he were swearing. He says it in pure shock and awe.
"do you believe in angels?" "Sure, and leprechauns and wee fairies too" I love that response. And now on a serious note, I think it is terrible that a beautiful country like Ireland is split in two.
My dad- a Roman Catholic, my mother- a Protestant(Church of England), me- a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. Figure that out!
When Monica gets so emotional as she talks of her love of peace and Ireland, you can't help crying.
Roma wasn't acting here. That was pure, raw emotion. She's actually from Ireland.

I just love how when Monica starts talking about Ireland (at about 2:13), the background music starts to take on a Celtic flavour.

MONICA . . . just the way she talked, with so much compassion, so much feeling of hope brought tears down my eyes.

@@debbieleonard9160 How can anyone not know that with her Irish accent? Her voice of compassion in every single episode was a real tear jerker.
@@gracealexandre3381 I know. I love her accent. It's beautiful.
@@debbieleonard9160 Yes, it is!
A wonderful show that demonstrates God’s Agape Love Anne forgiveness beautifully.
