Every single character he did was a banger fr. The Mama character, “secure the perimeter” guy, also the TNTL bits where he plays a middle aged white southern woman lol
the character he did in the betrayal returns vid that says 'exquisite' replays in my mind from time to time, but yeah Amadeus is definitely his goatest character.
When shayne starts talking about books my mind immediately goes to tommy on a funeral going “ohhhhh i’m shayne, i’m a big big bwain guy that reads big big bwain books” 😂❤
I think my favorite thing about more recent Smosh is the acknowledgement of the crew. There's a crew call out in almost every video. I love when Shayne tries to guess people because it helps us feel like we know the crew better. Smosh wouldn't be Smosh without its crew ❤ (still miss Jeremy and Patrick tho)
Jeremy and Patrick still help out with stuff sometimes though! Just not full time anymore. They and Courtney helped write all the bits for Anthony’s funeral

Yeah thats one of the things that makes smosh really special to me, I used to work in the filming industry as art department for the longest time and I actually changed careers this year because I was working 12-18 hour shoots and never felt recognized or appreciated and it absolutely wrecked my mental health. Its truly such a joy to see this big of a business being so thankful and thoughtful of their crew.
Crazy to hear that they might have thought Smosh was going under before Anthony. I was binging videos obsessively months before they announced his return and I had no idea that they were struggling!
Me too! I’ve been watching every single video this year and the obsession started sometime in 2021-22 when Amanda started appearing all the time. When she created Sarah Christ, that was such a massive Smosh moment for me and I’ve not left since
Shayne talked more about it on the recent interview on Anthony's channel. I had no idea they felt that way either. Must've been really weird thinking the whole channel was dying, to suddenly having Anthony back, bringing life back into everything again. I totally get their mixed feelings about it.
Not that surprising to me given they hire TONS of people and are based in a massive wearhouse in Cali. They must somehow be making hundreds of thousands of dollars gross to operate month to month
"Let's Do This!" not really "working out" is still baffeling to me, because those videos are so good. The ones about cheating, fighting and fashion alone.
Ever since the Shayne Damien and Courtney era started, Smosh has gone through a revival, and their choice of cast members since then has just been impeccable. I think the cast right now is better than its ever been. I only hope they bring Mari back more.

She literally never has an actual bit in tntl, it's always "here comes Olivia, she doesn't know what's going on again." Every single time. It got old for me. If she's included in other people's bits, she can never do what they ask and ends up just taking over the bit with randomness again. In sketches she's the worst at staying in character, she's the worst at paying attention and being perceptive in general. I have wondered for a long time how she got and kept the job, because it seems like she actually doesn't care. She's the only cast member ever that I've actively disliked
that love is blind episode is the hardest and longest i’ve laughed in a long time… it was just so organically funny and the connections between the cast elevated it as a whole and continues to elevate everything Smosh does edit: as a new englander who moved out west, i relate so much to amanda talking about her first impressions of LA/the west
I’ve said this before on his previous appearances, Chanse is my favorite guest we’ve had on the podcast. He’s got such an ease in conversation that really lets the podcast flow. SmoshCast as a whole coming back this year was a pretty huge personal Smosh moment. I loved the original run and I’ve loved how similar yet different this new iteration is in all the best ways. Shayne and Amanda hosting was such a great choice. The newer cast finding their own voices has been so fun. Chanse, Arasha, and Angela are so great. Definitely helped spark new life into the cast but also me as a viewer. I was having fun watching content before they were here and the already established cast are still capable of certified bangers, but the new cast brought a freshness that elevated the content even more. Smosh Games absolutely SERVING!! “Are you ladies done chattering”. It’s been so great to see that channel thrive and see Shayne really speak up for it multiple times. Feels good to be perceived. Of course the biggest thing, Anthony coming back. Ian and Anthony buying Smosh back. There were some nerves at first simply because of how crazy it was just as reality. Gotta say, Anthony has really shined in coming back. Especially with the newer members. He looks like he’s always having so much fun.
Dude, I LOVED Chanse as mr. Peanut. That was the first time, I was actually so impressed of his ability to get into character. Would love to see more of it 👏

What's weird is I remember the pandemic so much better than anything , or almost anything that happened the last year or so. Just because so much of 2020 and the first part of 2021 was so memorable.
It's truly intriguing how Shayne traveled to various places this year, yet he keeps his experiences private. I admire his commitment to privacy, especially considering the negative aspects of parasocial relationships nowadays.
that's what I was thinking last episode when he was talking about wanting to start a youtube channel of his own. like he should totally do videos on books either rating or analyzing them. i'm not super bookish but i truly believe his recommendations would get me into reading a lot more.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at Smosh. I had been watching the TNTL for a couple years but finally branched out and ever since for the last 10 months I’ve watched every upload, treat Reddit stories as my podcast while I clean and if I’m home alone and feeling nervy I put Smosh on as a comforting voice! We watch while we eat, when I’m chilling. All of the cast are so comforting, so joyful and friendly and I just honestly think more of them than any celebrity or personality online I’ve ever come across. Thank you for creating videos perfect for every mood of mine and thank you for feeling like family and friends when I need cheering up or when I’m perfectly fine! You bring me so much happiness ❤

The thing is, since Anthony came back every video, literally any video gets more views even if he's not even in it. So I would be 100% sure if they brought it back the ratings would be higher than they were before. And they don't need Ian, someone else can "host" it. I'm thinking Arasha or Damian would be great hosts.

I have been watching Smosh for more than a decade, and truely ALL of the content has been so much better since Anthony came back. It feels like all of you are having more fun, and are feeling more confident in what you do. You all deserve that, and I hope this is the start of the most prosperous Smosh era ever.
This is the year I fell in love with Smosh - best content you all ever did, you can feel the heart, realness and passion. I like all the members for different reasons and it truly brings me joy to check in on what you all are up to each day. The people involved and their interactions truly make it great. Because I have no "Old Smosh" Nostalgia the whole cast and some crew like Spencer, Tommy and Garrett are what make it for me what is. Cant believe I slept on this channel for so long. I cant believe the struggle was so bad again at the end of the Mythical Era, cuz you have been killing it for a while now. To me, this era is *peak* and Im fully invested at this point. Some stand-outs that come to mind: Board AF Legacy, Love is Blind Game, Hide and Seek, Mr. Peanut, Sniper Chess, 1, 2, Switch, Guessing the Crew and Cast, Reddit Stories, the Couch Talking Games and Culinary Crimes.

In San Angelo, TX while I was in college, one of my professors invited me to an improv comedy show his wife was in that was very much styled like "Whose Line Is It Anyways". Turns out my professor would brew beer and serve wine and beer at the show as well. $5 admission and unlimited drinks were included and honestly the whole thing was so funny. Absolutely loved going to that and it was a gem for our town of ~100k people.

What got me hooked was just finding my childhood happiness again and then I realized I left Smosh behind bc I "grew up" and also I didn't know who the new crew was and it was a drastic change for me lol. Now I've spent the past two months catching up and the catalyst was Nerdy Prudes Must Die with the next suggested video being an edit of "Angela being a feral guinea pig for x minutes"
I love Smosh so much. This has been a really rough year and Smosh’s content has really helped get me through. It’s my absolute favorite entertainment being produced. Thank you to each and every person who has worked so hard to create it.

2023 was rough for me but smosh really became my comfort channel, getting me through panic attacks and funny enough the announcement of Anthony and Ian buying smosh was waiting for me when I got out of inpatient, timing was great on that one .the year hasn't been a perfect one by far but I survived 🎉
as a creative, smosh is helping me through a really rough patch and imposter syndrome. it feels comforting seeing how much fun i can have in my field. i hope you all have a good holiday 🤍

To be honest, I never stopped watching smosh since 2005. It’s always around me every years since then, but this year it feels like Smosh changed for good, not just for the cast and crew, but also for me, the audience, and the fans.
same i left a really awful stage of my life (by setting a boundary, like chanse and amanda talked about) around the time ian came back, and i barely watched smosh before them. the parallels honestly feel kinda trippy.
It's wild to think that smosh has been around for so long and I only found it this year. I watched the Try Guys funeral roast, then heard about Anthony coming back and thought the whole story of him and Ian getting their company back was so cool that I started looking at more stuff. I fell in love with the full cast. Everyone is so effing funny 😂 I've watched all the funeral roasts, baf legacy, dnd, reddit stories, and let's do this videos MULTIPLE times. I used to not be into most board games and after watching everyone at smosh playing them I've been converted lol Also the "ham cake" ep of smoshcast is one of the funniest things I've ever listened to. Everyone's sketch pitches were gold lol I have so much to catch up on still, but I'm happy to have found smosh this year. Y'all absolutely killed it at the funeral roast. I've had the halftime show song stuck in my head daily since. I really hope Let's Do This comes back in some form, but I know whatever yall do next will be hilarious too All the best in 2024!!!🎉❤🎉

In truth, I’ve had the worst year of my adult life, with a lot of major life changes and loss, it really knocked my confidence and motivation. I’ve had some really low moments but throughout it all Smosh remained a comforting constant, especially this podcast. I know it comes across really cheesy, but I wouldn’t feel the need to say it had it not have made a huge positive impact. In-short, Smosh made me feel less isolated, made me laugh a ton and with their engagement with all the fun and creative fans out there, brought me a sense of community, when I’ve most needed it. Thank you and have a lovely break, much deserved.

I really got into smosh in the tail of 2022, its become such a core part of my life to check in with my parasocial relationships. In the past year, I finished grad school, moved cross country and started a new job. So its nice that I can come home and listen to my friends talk and hang out while I work on making some real life ones. Eat it or Yeet it has become a favorite. But Smosh Mouth is one of the best podcasts to listen to at work.
This year was the year I got obsessed with Smosh even more. I used to watch them in the beginning years of high school. Then I would only watch some here and there through out the years but literally even before Anthony came back this year I was watching it nonstop 🎉❤ love y’all keep it up!!!
as a new smosh fan i will say the announcement of anthony being back sparked me watching the new videos about it/with him out of curiosity (ive always known of smosh and had seen some early og smosh vids back in the day but i never was a smosh fan) HOWEVER, meeting all the new(not new) cast and all the different things you do on smosh games and smosh pit is what made me subscribe and become a fan. its 100% all of you and your personalities and watching you all just have fun and be silly(: so glad to be part of the smosh fan family now!

this was the first time I've watched a youtube channel on a streak for a year. normally with me i only have interest for a youtube channel for like 1-2 months but im surprised smosh changed that. i havent missed a video since i started watching them again (started at october 2022) honestly 2023 was smosh's year for me cause they did a lot of stuff that surprised and made me expect great stuff from them. cant wait too see whats in store for next year!
I think it was Bryan Cranston who said, the best way to make a sad moment in a scene is when the character tries not to cry. Its the same for comedy or getting into character is trying not to make people laugh is a pure form of humor.
Amanda's advice in this has been really thought-provoking. I'm so grateful to be able to listen to her thoughts on performing. Like acting and comedy is her steeze and it always shows but it was so captivating to hear her speak plainly about her one woman show or just performance in general. Love her!! That was some great advice on the way to think about art and stuff!!

2023 for me: tore my acl, had a kidney stone, quit my job, and my uncle took his own life. Honestly, smosh has been one of the extremely few things that helps remind me to smile so thank you so much to all of smosh for being able to make me smile despite everything that has happened.
I live like an hour away from Hearst Castle and it used to be a field trip that a bunch of schools in our area would take their students on. It's pretty cool!
Amanda literally described my summer vacation this year with her honeymoon. Exactly I’m order too, I wonder if I would’ve just seen her everyday if the weeks had lined up.

I’ve said this before on his previous appearances, Chanse is my favorite guest we’ve had on the podcast. He’s got such an ease in conversation that really lets the podcast flow.
SmoshCast as a whole coming back this year was a pretty huge personal Smosh moment. I loved the original run and I’ve loved how similar yet different this new iteration is in all the best ways. Shayne and Amanda hosting was such a great choice.
The newer cast finding their own voices has been so fun. Chanse, Arasha, and Angela are so great. Definitely helped spark new life into the cast but also me as a viewer. I was having fun watching content before they were here and the already established cast are still capable of certified bangers, but the new cast brought a freshness that elevated the content even more.
Smosh Games absolutely SERVING!! “Are you ladies done chattering”. It’s been so great to see that channel thrive and see Shayne really speak up for it multiple times. Feels good to be perceived.
Of course the biggest thing, Anthony coming back. Ian and Anthony buying Smosh back. There were some nerves at first simply because of how crazy it was just as reality. Gotta say, Anthony has really shined in coming back. Especially with the newer members. He looks like he’s always having so much fun.
Dude, I LOVED Chanse as mr. Peanut. That was the first time, I was actually so impressed of his ability to get into character. Would love to see more of it 👏

After the pandemic, time feels different. January seems like it happened simultaneously five years ago and last week.
What's weird is I remember the pandemic so much better than anything , or almost anything that happened the last year or so. Just because so much of 2020 and the first part of 2021 was so memorable.
It's truly intriguing how Shayne traveled to various places this year, yet he keeps his experiences private. I admire his commitment to privacy, especially considering the negative aspects of parasocial relationships nowadays.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at Smosh. I had been watching the TNTL for a couple years but finally branched out and ever since for the last 10 months I’ve watched every upload, treat Reddit stories as my podcast while I clean and if I’m home alone and feeling nervy I put Smosh on as a comforting voice! We watch while we eat, when I’m chilling. All of the cast are so comforting, so joyful and friendly and I just honestly think more of them than any celebrity or personality online I’ve ever come across. Thank you for creating videos perfect for every mood of mine and thank you for feeling like family and friends when I need cheering up or when I’m perfectly fine! You bring me so much happiness ❤

So I would be 100% sure if they brought it back the ratings would be higher than they were before. And they don't need Ian, someone else can "host" it. I have been watching Smosh for more than a decade, and truely ALL of the content has been so much better since Anthony came back. It feels like all of you are having more fun, and are feeling more confident in what you do. You all deserve that, and I hope this is the start of the most prosperous Smosh era ever.
This is the year I fell in love with Smosh - best content you all ever did, you can feel the heart, realness and passion. I like all the members for different reasons and it truly brings me joy to check in on what you all are up to each day. The people involved and their interactions truly make it great. Because I have no "Old Smosh" Nostalgia the whole cast and some crew like Spencer, Tommy and Garrett are what make it for me what is. Cant believe I slept on this channel for so long. I cant believe the struggle was so bad again at the end of the Mythical Era, cuz you have been killing it for a while now. To me, this era is *peak* and Im fully invested at this point.
Some stand-outs that come to mind: Board AF Legacy, Love is Blind Game, Hide and Seek, Mr. Peanut, Sniper Chess, 1, 2, Switch, Guessing the Crew and Cast, Reddit Stories, the Couch Talking Games and Culinary Crimes.

In San Angelo, TX while I was in college, one of my professors invited me to an improv comedy show his wife was in that was very much styled like "Whose Line Is It Anyways". Turns out my professor would brew beer and serve wine and beer at the show as well. $5 admission and unlimited drinks were included and honestly the whole thing was so funny. Absolutely loved going to that and it was a gem for our town of ~100k people.

To be honest, I never stopped watching smosh since 2005. It’s always around me every years since then, but this year it feels like Smosh changed for good, not just for the cast and crew, but also for me, the audience, and the fans.

It's wild to think that smosh has been around for so long and I only found it this year. I watched the Try Guys funeral roast, then heard about Anthony coming back and thought the whole story of him and Ian getting their company back was so cool that I started looking at more stuff.

In truth, I’ve had the worst year of my adult life, with a lot of major life changes and loss, it really knocked my confidence and motivation. I’ve had some really low moments but throughout it all Smosh remained a comforting constant, especially this podcast. I know it comes across really cheesy, but I wouldn’t feel the need to say it had it not have made a huge positive impact. In-short, Smosh made me feel less isolated, made me laugh a ton and with their engagement with all the fun and creative fans out there, brought me a sense of community, when I’ve most needed it. Thank you and have a lovely break, much deserved.

I really got into smosh in the tail of 2022, its become such a core part of my life to check in with my parasocial relationships. In the past year, I finished grad school, moved cross country and started a new job. So its nice that I can come home and listen to my friends talk and hang out while I work on making some real life ones. Eat it or Yeet it has become a favorite. But Smosh Mouth is one of the best podcasts to listen to at work.
This year was the year I got obsessed with Smosh even more. I used to watch them in the beginning years of high school. Then I would only watch some here and there through out the years but literally even before Anthony came back this year I was watching it nonstop 🎉❤ love y’all keep it up!!!
as a new smosh fan i will say the announcement of anthony being back sparked me watching the new videos about it/with him out of curiosity (ive always known of smosh and had seen some early og smosh vids back in the day but i never was a smosh fan) HOWEVER, meeting all the new(not new) cast and all the different things you do on smosh games and smosh pit is what made me subscribe and become a fan. its 100% all of you and your personalities and watching you all just have fun and be silly(: so glad to be part of the smosh fan family now!

I think it was Bryan Cranston who said, the best way to make a sad moment in a scene is when the character tries not to cry. Its the same for comedy or getting into character is trying not to make people laugh is a pure form of humor.
Amanda's advice in this has been really thought-provoking. I'm so grateful to be able to listen to her thoughts on performing. Like acting and comedy is her steeze and it always shows but it was so captivating to hear her speak plainly about her one woman show or just performance in general. Love her!! That was some great advice on the way to think about art and stuff!!

2023 for me: tore my acl, had a kidney stone, quit my job, and my uncle took his own life. Honestly, smosh has been one of the extremely few things that helps remind me to smile so thank you so much to all of smosh for being able to make me smile despite everything that has happened.
