  • Reducing a culture and a people to themes such as gastronomy and sweets is a bit like visiting the Louvre Museum, and staying on the outdoor terrace to try the croissants.......or visiting the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and stay at the tapas bar.
Tastes can't be discussed...you educate them
Beja is a hidden gem in Portugal, a city often forgotten by tourists. However, those who take the time to explore this enchanting city will discover a rich history, stunning natural beauty and a vibrant cultural scene. In this video we will take a descriptive tour of Beja, exploring its historical charm, natural beauty and cultural richness.
with a very rich historical past, still visible in several ruins such as those of the Roman Villa of Pisões:
    • Pisões - Villa romana ...
Of course, gastronomy is important and lunchtime is used to try an Alentejo stew, but the main dish for me continues to be the city, its streets and corners.
The historical charm of Beja is a city rich in history, with archaeological discoveries that are a testament to its past. Beja's historical landmarks, such as its Castle, Convent of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, the churches of Santa Maria and Santo Amaro, are significant not only for their architectural beauty, but also for their cultural importance.

Ola from Pitões das Júnias...Gee how did I find out about this little gem in Montalegre? Had one good day of beautiful weather, no Neve, but wonderful all the same! I hiked to Mosteiro de Santa Maria and the cascata, also did trail and hiked up to Capela de São João da Fraga with magnificent views! Stayed in the village for 2 days! Obrigado for the INSPIRATION! Alentejo next month! 🇵🇹😉👌✌️🤠
