  • How many projects are waiting for you to finish them? I started this build on a live stream many months ago and it’s sat on the shelf for that time. I’ve found some time and was very happy to finish it.

Tris, I'm so glad you re-presented this video without the background track! It's all a learning curve. Many thanks.
Lovely kit, beautifully constructed and finished.

I have now stopped using water to release the transfer and now use Micro Set for that as well.

That’s quite a nice freight van, I must say. It’s just not my thing!! My two layouts, 00 in and 0 live steam out on my patio, are passenger layouts.

Lovely video this, Neal! I love these type of videos and your repair/modification videos such as the Dean Goods and 14xx. Good luck on the layout!

    Hi Tris,
    Another cracking video.
I model in 7mm, the Peco (ex Webster's) kits are great, especially the BR wagons, literally fall together! Even the leaf springs work and provide springing/compensation - a joy.
As 7mm is still, pretty much, a modelling scale, we have to make kits. Sadly I've several stalled projects 1) because of waiting upon parts availability 2) my current health issues. Both aspects are frustrating.
The former issue is often due to cottage industry suppliers going out of business or retiring. RTR has impacted upon the cottage industries. Some of it is due to costs for Eg photo etching costs, although contacts in resin 3D Printing, CAD jockeys, are now helping me in that regard.
Also one tends to buy a kit in case it's never produced again. Then there's my three RC cars, my 3-4 RC boats all in various stages of build or repair. Then there's large scale plastic aviation kits etc etc - where do all the years go too😮😮?!!
    Keep up the good work👍🤔💜😊
PS. A word of wisdom to the wise - on the body corners with a van kit? Best to dry run first (especially on Parkside kits), to check/adjust fit/smooth. I also add on the insides some Plastistruct™ or Evergreen ™ right angle to the corners and a spacer for the sides (across the top between the side doors). I add in weight, using stick on wheel weights as well (self adhesive car wheel weights are used in all winds and weathers they're usually fine, but some cheaper ones I have, CCP made🙄🇨🇳, are less robust in terms of adhesive, so if fitting them to a sealed van, I add a Plastikard™ retainer too as belt and braces). I also add in some sound deadening too. Hope that helps others too, wagon building is great fun👍😊✌️

Great job, I’m often tempted to get one of these kits just to see what o gauge is like but I do worry it’ll be a very slippery slope.

Love your calm approach to building. I wondered what glue you are using? I like the integral applicator.
