I love the fact that you encourage us to attempt simple warm up exercises like this to help us in our riding. Thank you so much Kelly!

I appreciated this video and I plan to get back to yoga, which when I practice does increase my awareness.

At age 50, I started training with an Olympic weightlifting coach. I did that for several years until about age 60 when the wear and tear of very heavy weights started taking a toll on my joints. Moved this year to a different strength training program in my own home gym using a program designed by Doug Brignole, called Brig-20, which is awesome. Same benefit of strength training without the compression of very heavy weights. I also added in some work by ATG (kneesovertoesguy) and GOATA, two programs which have really helped with movement in general. Basically, I love exploring new functional movements and at age 63, I feel like I am moving better than ever and it has helped my riding for sure.

*AWARENESS* Yes.. Good stuff!! Makes sense. Thanks for sharing this! Such a good reminder for me to really need to put into action. It's so important, especially with the aging process, cuz we do tend to get stuck in our ways

Such a simple process, but one we tend to forget , might try a dancing class!

Haha, I had to overhaul my entire way of carrying my body when I started riding, it's insane what this has done to my body (in a very good way way- the abs are real, and what muffin top? I worked on that muffin top for YWARS, and only now...
Definitely my best body ever at 39, even better than in my 20s when I worked out at the gym all the time - it's just my lifestyle now, and that really really makes all the difference.
Yoga yoga and more yoga- it's been my saving grace for sure, haha!
And it's made me so much more aware of my body at other times, like when I drive I occasionally ha e position revelations as I am focusing on my core and posture and the movement of the car- driving can be productive time, actually, haha -i hold the steering wheel like I do the reins and keep my elbows lightly by my sides, it has helped me with body awareness and muscle memory!
I need to do a dance class, I am definitely rhythmically challenged, haha!
I am pretty limber and flexible and balanced, but I can't let go into the rhythm very well, hence my sticky canter seat...😄

thanks! just started Feldenkrais with a local physio and that has been amazing for what you are speaking about. What was the name of the course you have taken?
Thank you for all you knowledge and awareness you share!

Thank you. Our bodies are designed to move. I myself spend too long at a desk at a computer, not helpful for riding.
