William Morris and Company: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Great Britain

This exhibition takes a look at the multifaceted world of William Morris, designer, craftsman, businessman, poet, essayist and social agitator (1834-1896), as well as the main figures of the Arts and Crafts movement. The movement promoted a broad revival of the arts and crafts, in the professional and domestic fields, defending a simple lifestyle close to Nature. The questions it raised about the sustainability of industrial production, the relationship between work and life, the honesty of materials, the beauty of everyday objects and the protection of old buildings and the environment are still very much alive today. The vast majority of the works come from British institutions and have not previously been exhibited in Spain.

Muy interesante informacion, lastima que fallara completamente ya que sus productos eran tan detallados que eran inaccesibles para cualquier persona que no fuera de clase alta

movimiento Arts and Crafts en Gran Bretaña.Su máximo ideólogo fue el artista y escritor William Morris (1834-1896) y tomó su nombre de la Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society, fundada en Londres en 1887. Fue un movimiento nacido desde los ideales, la preocupación por los efectos de la industrialización en el diseño, el saber y la vida cotidiana.
