@@LeonGun8 Save for Lancer Raikou and Yagyu Munenori. They are both 4 star servants, but imo are better than most 5 stars of their class. Raikou is both an offensive buster crit powerhouse and also has some team support with a Charisma and targetable mana burst that comes with debuff cleanse, while Yagyu can debuff the shit out of enemy's attacks, making them practically hit for 0 damage if you put him in the right team, all while also dealing high damage and spamming his NP.
See, you're forgetting the greatest advantage of rolling for Gramps: His voice actor is Nakata Jouji. His voice actor is everyone's favorite shitty priest, Kirei Kotomine, owner of the black keys, eater of the super spicy mapo tofu. Yorokobe!
He's so amazing at killing that his NP even kills your framerate!

Fun Fact: when King Hassan was the Grand Assassin, his Saint Graph was declared higher than anything Chaldea has ever encountered, with only the other Grand Servants coming close.

Speaking of Li Shuwen I find it weird they never used the Extra Assassin version of him. They kind of turned that version into a Lancer (which is even weirder since it was confirmed that Lancer Li Shuwen was going to be an old man in Extra until Julius hacks the Moon Cell and summons him as a young Assassin).
LeonGun8 both young and old Li Shuwen are capable of being summoned as Assassin or Lancer
Oh I know. I just found it curious. It is a confirmed fact from Fate/Extra character material that in Extra Li Shuwen was going to be summoned as an old man Lancer version. However Julius had a program created to "hack" the system and changed the parameters, forcibly summoning a young Assassin, as Julius wanted a servant that would be 100% compatible with him (Julius was the assassin of the Harways, and as such he wanted an Assassin that was thirsty for combat and willing to bloody his hands).
It's just one of those "Extraverse" things since the Moon Cell Wars are a mix between Holy Grail Wars and Virtual Reality.
Two of the three best Assassins are Gramps.

Gramps was honestly one of the biggest driving factors for me getting into FGO. Before I became knee-deep into the gacha hell I was just browsing through the wiki's listed servant classes cuz I was bored. A lot of them looked mediocre until I stumbled upon gramps. Just his armor design alone got me interested, and then when I saw his NP, heard his dialogue, and watched JP gameplay, I knew that this badass old man of the mountain was gonna proc death onto my wallet whether I like it or not... Here's to hoping for him in the gacha 🤞

One thing to note is King Hassan’s ridiculous capability to solo. His high star drop rate and np rate allows him to use is np very often, even tho he has a focused deck so he can brave chain without his np. Strong defense buff and gut allow him to swallow enemy np then revive with a safe amount of hp then quickly follow up with the heal so he can carry on like no others. To my knowledge he has the most solo boss/challenge quest videos out there and if anyone is interested go check out how he can solo the upcoming summer’s challenge quest, the toughest story chapter of chapter 1.5.3 where you go against rider raikou and berserker shuten with break bars and more.
His greatest ability is ridiculously high buster performance. His star regen is not that great though, with no good team or enough buff then np and stars are not really his advantage

Ah, the least assassin-looking Assassin in the game. The guy is cool and all but when you see him standing over 2 meters tall, teleporting in explosions of fire, making pillars of blue flame erupt from under someone's legs and especially his final ascention of spiky plate armor with giant skull shoulder-pads and glowing eyes all over it, a big blue flame constantly coming out of his everything, long jagged blades coming out of his back, one-handing what would be a greatsword for a normal human, and a spiky tower shield straight out of Dark Souls you don't exactly think "Presence Consealment Rank A".
I just look at his design and think the Lich King from Warcraft. It screams "Look at how cool this looks".

I know he's basically the Grim Reaper, it's just that he looks exactly how one would picture Death if it was in the Saber class and fights a lot more like a Caster with the whole "Conjure the Fires of Hell with my eyes" thing. He looks fuck-all like an Assassin and doesn't fight like one, yet he's an Assassin for symbolic reasons. It seems to me more like they wanted to makes someone who looks like the Lich King as one of the Grands, but didn't want to use up the Saber slot for someone who looks that villainous.
@@Phantom_of_Black remember that he's assassin that kills hassan. He's specialized on killing his own subordinate that went strays
I think the idea is if you want to kill assassins (since he is the one who kills other Hassans if they become corrupt), you don't use normal assassination techniques that they will know, but combine it with straight combat, which they will be less proficient in. Basically, he uses his own skills as an assassin to get in close, then kills them with normal combat strategies, not any special technique or skill.

The last time I tried to roll for an SSR assassin was during the first Christmas Event featuring Jack, and got nothing (I was still a newbie and thus did not yet learn the notion of saving SQs).
That is why when I learned Gramps is more tanky than the average assassin I know I must roll for him.
Wasted 250 quartz not getting merlin, now have 90 Q and 23 tickets for gramps. I wish you luck.
I’m late but man, Hassan is amazing, I cried when he kept Instant killing Lahmu left and right in Babylonia like it was nothing. My Hassan also instant killed Ibaraki during the past event in NA and I was blown away lmfao. She had like a little over 4 million out of her 6 million left and he just.... DID IT! I got lucky with getting him back on the first day of his rateup with a 6th ticket! I was so grateful to have another 5 ⭐️ at the time since I was still a new player and I had only had just gotten Musashi on the first day of her rateup so I would always use them on teams together. I found it funny that you mentioned how well they worked together lol.

@@ColdEmperor KH is cooler looking I agree, but he's definitely inspired by skull night. If you every read berserk the manga (which I highly recommend) the similarities are even more visible. KH's final ascension art is basically the entrance of skull knight in the manga.
@@jaymiracle5500 So, I have no idea how far back the idea of using a skull motif for armor has gone, I can't imagine it's new by any stretch, but I can at least say that the death knight enemy in Dungeons and Dragons has been around since '81, and Berserk started in '89, so if anything, they're all based on that kind of concept. We can't really say what he was specifically designed after without the one who designed him saying it, there is no "definitely" with something as generic as "skull armor".

Saying that his 3rd skill makes enemies twice as likely to die is a bit of an overstatement. As any buffs towards death success still have to overcome the enemy death resist. It's estimated that sub-bosses need a total 500-600% against them (be it in death success buffs, or lowered death resist debuffs) to work consistently.
I have prepared a meme team for testing this, as I'm not sure who else would waste this much time: Death resist debuffs from Saber Shiki (80% aoe) and Assassin Shiki (100% single target), plus bond CEs for bonus to instant kill rates via CA Hassan (20%) and Assassin Shiki (30%). Then max Gramp's 3rd skill for an additional 100%, and factor in the 100-200% chance on his NP. So if you build an entire team around attempting to kill a sub-boss, you can get from 430-530%....which is enough to have a chance, but not guarantee it. Front line is Shiki, Shiki, cursed arm (with bond CEs on the assassins). Use both Shiki buffs, and swap saber shiki for a gramps who already has his NP at 100% (Shiki's debuffs only last 1 turn), drop his skills, and use his NP (ideally in a chain). If you can't get King Hassan to NP on 1 turn, remove Cursed Arm, although that drops the total by 20%.
. . . As you can see, the amount of prep work that goes into making instant kill even remotely viable on stronger enemies isn't worth the pay off. But that won't stop me from trying.
In retrospect, I suppose going Shiki, Shiki, Gramps. With Cursed arm in the back row for swapping with saber shiki is the better setup

@@OniiChanPls I had no quartz, spent them all (not much) trying for Merlin and didn't get him, but I did have 7 tickets. It only took 4.
Just a note: now with his first skill upgraded at Lv10 his efective atack with most of his deck for monstrous 5 turns is gonna be equivalent to 13,861 with his buster cards, making him during this 5 turns one of the best Damage Dealers of the game having a damage higher than jalter during these 5 turns
Remebering he still has a 20% atack up from protector of the faith and his Mana Burst in Evening Bell
So doing the math, during 70% of the battle(5 of 7 turns) king hassan is gonna be doing a higher damage than Jalter and this can become even higher when you aplied his other buffs
Dw really wanted to make out for making King Hassan the weakest from the Grand Servants in gameplay, and now he is efectivily the strongest DPS of his class being better than even Kama and with the possibility to be the greatest DPS of this game for 5 turns

I'd personally still put Jack slightly above him as an attacker for her ability to NP loop on her own. Just a little luck on her card draws and crits can let her pull some Archuria level bullshit. Still, King Hassan is so damn cool, it's just too bad his first banner is shortly before Dantes (makes me wish all the more I'd gotten Dantes on his first event) and his second is shortly before Abby.
When approximately is his second banner? I have a feeling i am not going to get him as i used all my quarts on merlin... and nobody came.
@@reginaldmustardbacon5866 Should be towards the end of November, it's a milestone banner shortly before the final epic of remnant chapter. I'm guessing they'll make it this year's Thanksgiving special.
For the purpose of being a generally easy to use servant, Jack the Ripper is definitely the better Assassin. However, for the technique-sensitive and meticulous player, King Hassan will singlehandedly destroy what should be a solo event in less than 2 turns.
His star weight is incredible to the point that you can get a 100% crit out of him with less than 30 crit stars, and his triple Buster cards mean you can hit Buster brave chains that would make a Noble Phantasm seem unnecessary. His damage at lvl 90 (3rd Buster attack can get up to 29k effective damage and 70k crit, and that's without Merlin) is massive enough that grailing him would be a waste of time, grails and QP.
Sure, Jack can go at it alone, but KH just needs one turn from someone else so he can suck up their hard work and release them all into his blue pillar of fire to end a challenge quest faster.
@@mangoshake Erm, most of what you said makes no sense. KH isn't destroying anything in "less than 2 turns." No one is, that's the point of break bars, you can't first turn challenges anymore. And challenge is what I *assume* you mean by "solo event", cause that term makes no sense. His star weight isn't in any way special. it's around 100, same as every other assassin and saber. Star weight varies by class, with only minimal differences between individual servants. And the triple buster deck can do a lot of damage, but it's also makes him chain less with the game's better supports.
And your last statement is backwards. It's KH that's great on his own. He's super tanky, and can produce plenty of stars and NP when he can use his single arts and quick cards whenever he needs them. He's one of the best soloers in the game. Jack is better off in a team.

King Hassan and I are kind of kindred spirits. I also have full thot immunity, though, my skill works in reverse bringing a thot's desire to charm me down to 0%. Kinda weird how that works but I guess it's the same.

She is a pretty unique servant and is of course a pseudo servant for the queen Fujimaru Taiga xD. I personally think she deserves to have a spotlight for herself because she is actually rlly good if u use her right and i think her having a spotlight will show everyone how good she can be. Hope u see this and agree!

1 year later and he's standing at Lvl 100 with 10/10/10, max Fous and bond lvl 10

He's literally Skull Knight from Berserk! Hell, his role in the damn story is somewhat similar to Skull Knight's too, and his final ascension art pose is an outright homage to the character as well, it must be, the similarity is uncanny! Of course, if he is a Berserk reference in design and aesthetic, the Dark Souls comparisons also fit by extension! Nasu loves his Soulsborne references haha, can't blame him for that!
His moveset and appearance are damn amazing.....but I can only try a few singles sadly, no more than 15 or so probably, oh well, I'll drain my few quartz for him at least, he deserves it after being so damn awesome and helpful in Camelot and Babylonia. He looks more solid that I thought, if his kit was just predicated upon the death mechanic it would be far too inconsistent for him to be called a great servant, but it looks like he's packing way more than that, which is good to hear. Even so, great as he seems to be, I think Jack edges it in overall value because of how amazing she is at what she does, and I am perfectly fine with my daughteru as my main ST Assassin for now.

I think just because he's the reason the word Assassin exists. He can't qualify for any other classes
He's the literal concept of "Assassin", even more than the rest of the Hassans who are just leaders of the group. King Hassan is so mythical that no one even know if he existed, just that all wielders of the name Hassan-i-Sabbah fear him.

I just noticed, I have both shuten and king hassan. In farming quest (exp, except ones with caster ) I would bring them with a spot shuten. And I noticed, TWO OF THE GAME'S STRONGEST ASSASSIN WIELDS GREATSWORDS THAT ARE LARGER THAN SOME OF THE SERVANTS.
imagine them one day swapping greatswords and seeing if anyone will notice and/or bring it up.

As usual, thank you for your hard work on these videos but this and your Jalter reviews are the only ones where I have to respectfully disagree with you. They may be good but calling them broken is a huge overstatement. Hassan's damage is quite low and his stargen is not incredible plus he has no speciallisation like jack and no means to absorb stars or up his crit damage. He also provides nothing to the team besides lowering an enemy's death resist, his np dosen't ignore evasion or defense. A decent assassin overall but nowhere near broken. Also, his guts has a very long cooldown but thats to be expected. Plus if you are using protection of the faith, then you will most likely use it before he uses his np and then it will be on cooldown when he revives with guts, tho that can be adjusted with skill. Overall a good assassin but heavily overrated just like Jalter. Probably cuz he looks cool.

Key factor is *HOW* you use that to your advantage. They're not as "overrated" as you seem to be making them to be when their skill set shows why they're *that* good.
His specialisation is pretty much as a strong solo servant.

@@ahreaper Really? He is among the top candidate for solos, with how much solo videos is dedicated for him in this platform. As he has everything you need for solo, a fast NP gain if you play B-Q-A, Adequate amount of star to crit, or plain buster smacking. As stated in the video too, if you time protection of the faith after his guts he will have 7500 HP to resist more attack. His NP damage overall is average, second only to Jack among the assassin's ST roster. But yes, he is nowhere gamebreaking despite being a /former/ grand servant. He does his job good and that's it.

I've already got Jack and a grailed Shiki so I'm not too bothered about rolling for him but I'll probably just chuck whatever quartz and tickets I get from login bonuses at his banner and see what happens. But man if I get him on a yolo and not Musashi after all of the rolls I did for her I'm going to be the weirdest combination of happy and mad
I remember one day I only used him 💀 and I hit instant death on my basic hit 7 or 8 times and me and my friend were dying of laughter cause of the consistency of it

The most interesting fact about this Grand servant. His voice was the first thing they recorded, before Mashu or even Altoria. They take their Joji Nakada voice seriously. Added bonus. If you don't get him, but have Ishtar, take consolation on the fact that he makes cameo appearance in her NP (take a close look at the edge of cliff on right hand side)
Finally, a servant worthy of my grails and worth trying to NP5. I wouldn’t try to NP 5 him right now, but NP 2 would be nice. It’s time for him to come home.
Being the odd one out and probably the only Assassin they'll ever give a triple Buster deck would already give King Hassan a niche as an Assassin that can actually deal damage without turbo-buffing into the stratosphere or clicking a Noble Phantasm, but his skillset is just deliciously reliable too. Do you need stuff killed? Of course you do, the actual gameplay is nothing but that. King Hassan's probably got you covered. The only thing he won't do is fire sword lasers - enough NP levels and a few grails and he'll even murder Casters for you sometimes.

I have a NP2 Jack with Bond 10 and yet I still gonna roll for King Hassan since I love his design, playstyle and he is always very limited (not as Limited as Parvati who still only have 1 banner or Colmbus who only have 0 Banners).

Gramps came home. I now have Ishtar, Merlin, Musashi, and King Hassan. The second and third of those at NP2. I've survived Gacha Hell and came out triumphant. I'll see you guys in Summer. I'm done rolling for awhile...

And the lucky streak continues :D Got him on my fourth ten roll. So glad Gramps was summoned. Guess he really wanted to kill Ozy. Used him as my room summoning catalyst. Gramps just oozes awesomeness. Mayhaps I shall grail him as well.
I got him on my last pull on my last 10 roll and now he stands as the only servant I ever paid for to get. I love my dark souls gramps.
