Great video and very informative for new people coming into the hobby. You stated that bgs gold label 10s would be somewhat comparable to psa 10s in value but bgs gold label 10s (specifically) hold a noticeable premium over psa 10s so Id say that it doesnt need to be a black label to get great value out of it. Although a black label is the best possible scenario of course 😂
No worries, they’ll still grade it. It’s just more likely to move around while shipping and harder to remove without damage. They strongly recommend card savers.
Really great video! How has your experience been with the centering app? Getting back into the hobby after a long time and I’ve acquired some cards I’d like to just have slabbed and some to increase value!
@@mikemcclellan7026 I graded with them a couple times, the experience was good but I find their labels a little lack luster. And TAG essentially does the same process but with nicer results.
@CattlemanCollects excellent, thanks for the response. I'm pretty new to Pokemon card collecting but I talked to a guy at a card show and he seemed to be really hyped about AGS so I sent my first few cards that I thought were worthy of grading to them so I'm looking forward to getting them back and seeing what grades I get really enjoyed the video though
gamestop is 16 a pop and they come back very fast (about 3-4 weeks vs longer waits normally through PSA).. ive done several orders with them. also that card throw had my dying XD
found a 1st edition snorlax at a convention for $100. Bought it and sent it to grade just because its one of my favorite cards and it ended up getting a 9 now worth $600. Gengar vmax I bought for $200 got it graded now it's worth $1000+ Giratina v, same thing, bought for $200 got it graded now it's $1400+ Umbreon vmax bought for $350 got it graded now it's worth $2400. I'd say grading certain cards is 100000% worth it lmao Just don't grade low end cards. that's dumb. But also, there are some cards I grade just because I like them and they have some sentimental value. Like my gf's tinkaton, or my illustration garchomp. However, PSA isn't too strict on certain grading criterias. I have cards that are 10s with poorly cut edges and off centering on the back of the card. I also have a psa 10 with a fat print line straight through the middle of the card. It really depends on the grader you get as well as the card the grade gets could some time just be determined by the subjective opinion of the specific grader or that graders mood during that day. Which is kinda fucked but it is what it is. Regardless of this though you always want to make sure you mitigate this possibility by only sending in the best of condition cards. Very informative video, great for people curious about grading. 10/10
Did I miss anything? What are your thoughts on grading??

Im having trouble the card centering app you used. Is the name of the just card centering? If so, its not coming up as a result in the playstore
@@arielgil1345 “Card Centering Calculator” on the Apple Store, I’m not sure if it’s on the play store though!
