They can live in different cities, carry on their lives, meet their responsibilities, never seeing each other again but can never break the connection, even after the death of one. Soulmates on the other hand can break their connection.
Twin flame connection is the most gut wrenching and beautiful journey at the same time. There is no other connection that presents extreme polarity as with the twin flame one. Its extremely blissful and can be extremely sad at the same time. Trick is to find joy and peace within the so called " heart break".
At first I really didn't understand why communication had to be cut off. Somewhere along the way, I realized it was something we both needed to grow. Now, I am thankful even though it was a very painful part of the process, because it's through it that I am able to heal.

I have just come into beautiful daily contact with my DM the last few weeks. It’s light and happy banter. We had a few message exchanges and then months and months of silence for two and a half years before this!! What happened was back in the summer he came into my energy field soooo strongly. We exchanged a couple of messages and then a series of synchronistic events lead me to write to him what was in my heart and how much I loved him. He had heard it years before when we were in our bubble phase ( that in itself came 11 years after our initial meeting!) He called and we had a lovely chat after years and then he went silent again. At that point I just fully let go and surrendered. The obsessive thinking left me and I truly felt at peace deep in my heart that it was ok to love him and what will be will be. That he had made the choice to be with another and that was supporting him somehow. I just wanted his happiness above all else. I truly came into my heart.. Then at the end of last month another synchronicity happened that lead to an unexpected purge. Literally a few days later we got back in touch. Just when I needed his energy for some support for something that’s happening with me. I have been triggered even in this interaction which I see as good as it’s scrapping out the last remnants of fear and anxiety around abandonment and rejection in small ways, If he disappears again I think it will feel less awful because I know now for the fist time really, that we will always be connected and that we always reconnect. He cut off all communication due to already being in a relationship, work position, conflict avoidant, runs from feelings, isn't willing to change or leave his comfort zone. I know we are one and he's always with me in energy. So being with me physically isn't required for either of us. As 2 people, he lives his life and I live mine. I'm letting him be. I have already welcomed communication from others. I know he can sense other energies but that's his issue. He can either be jealous of the attention i'm getting or do something about it. I've been working on myself. No clue what he's doing. Which is why since he chooses not to talk, keeping distance is ok with me.

Contact comes and goes. Lately it’s few and far between, and becomes less and less each time contact is made. Yet, when contact is made, it starts surface level, then becomes extremely intense, soul-bearing, then back to no contact.

External factors for me. When we met she was already engaged and on the verge of success and my life was in shambles due to familial obligations. First contact threw me for a loop. Looking into each other's eyes was like finding peace for the first time. A sense of laying your wary head to rest and now being with the one person you could tell everything no matter how dark to because they've been waiting forever to find you and want to know everything thats happened since last time we were together. Think of it as yin meeting yang everything finally being balanced out. The dichotomy was too vast, however, especially her being on the verge of marriage. I ran, cut it off. But just being cut off wasn't enough any thought of her was like hell. To survive the life i got dealt, I need as little emotion as possible. So I took it further and performed the equivalent of a soul lobotomy...ever since i haven't felt anything. For anyone or anything. I dont recommend it, and have no idea the kind of damage that does.
I love him more than anything else but I had to walk away. He is not ready for real commitment, I gave him the space to grow and clear his life of negative energy from.past toxic relationships and give myself the time for inner development and be ready for reunion

I used to think not knowing anything about him is the worst. But reading these comments here. Idk. Maybe I was blessed with no contact. I didn’t have to watch him marry someone else or go through any choices of not contacting him. He simply disappeared from the face of the earth right before covid and I don’t even know if he’s “alive” as human anymore. None of our mutual friends has any contact. But also no contact makes me doubt the reunion. How can he even come back when he doesn’t even know how to contact me? I too disappeared and took down all the old. @@FoundSheep-AN I feel that because he has never felt a pure love like mine, it scared him away just like it scared me when I first realized that the feelings I have for him is true love. I have never felt this way for anyone and it scared me because it didn’t make sense. The love is have for him is not logical, it just is and I was guided to him and continue to be. Any one that has never felt this before, it can scare them because they will think it has to be any other toxic reasons besides love. So I understand that because this type of love is not always logical, our ego can’t accept it as just love. We need time to truly connect to our self to know the true answer. I’ve come to a point in my life where I stopped running away from my feelings and just accepted it. I got rid of searching for a logical answer because there is none. I’ve tried. i know now it’s divine love and I believe he is going through the same awakening as I have. And I know in his heart he feels it, he just needs time to heal his ego from his past trauma. I know he loves me and as I continue healing myself I can feel him getting closer. He has never disrespected me, he just ran away from the unfamiliar.

External factors for me. When we met she was already engaged and on the verge of success and my life was in shambles due to familial obligations.
First contact threw me for a loop. Looking into each other's eyes was like finding peace for the first time. A sense of laying your wary head to rest and now being with the one person you could tell everything no matter how dark to because they've been waiting forever to find you and want to know everything thats happened since last time we were together. Think of it as yin meeting yang everything finally being balanced out.
The dichotomy was too vast, however, especially her being on the verge of marriage.
I ran, cut it off. But just being cut off wasn't enough any thought of her was like hell. To survive the life i got dealt, I need as little emotion as possible. So I took it further and performed the equivalent of a soul lobotomy...ever since i haven't felt anything. For anyone or anything. I dont recommend it, and have no idea the kind of damage that does.

He initiated the breakup, over the phone, after 3 yrs together, he cheats, dumps me, marries her I immediately went No Contact, I told him once he walked out my door that was it, no coming back,no friendship, no talking at anytime, if we saw each other out somewhere he had better walk across the street,,,told him that would be it for the next thirty years, he goes why?
