The one and only Maurice White! When I first heard he passed, the first image I had of him is stepping out of the dark into the light, doing his little strut and playing his kalimba!!
The master Maurice could evoke emotion from such a simple instrument with ease. He was a gift to us all and I'm grateful for the music he shared with us. RIP Mr. White

I will also love Earth Wind and Fire!!! I feel so bad that he is ill, but he keeps going!!! He shows that even when you are ill, you should show perservearance! He is a really strong individual!!! My hats off to REESE!!!!
Mr. Stylistics Blue Magic, I could not agree more. The silly thumbs-down posters are more immature than a frustrated toddler insisting on attention by sh*tting in the child seat of a shopping cart while momma or poppa tries to bring home the bacon. The haters smell a bit, but they live in it between their ears. I have no desire to feed their childish need to make their stupidity and ignorance known to all viewers. All the Joy EWF and Maurica gave is a permanent, joyous gift to the future. EWF gave and gave to millions and millions. Such a beautiful legacy to every member of EWF. For me EWF is like listening to an old and trusted friend. The more carefully I listen, the more nuances are revealed, and my "Gratitude" grows, even after Maurice has shed his physical body. Of course we miss him, but the times we were blessed to be born in preserves EWF's many moments at the touch of a button. In these times of global and national insanity, I tap my EWF button like a smokin' telegraph operator. Their music speaks, nay, sings, for itself. EWF is part of my best memories from younger years, and because my musical ear listens better, EWF continues to yield fruit for my spirit and heart. Dem dat feels it Knows It, as Beautiful Bob Marley said. All have ears but some are tone-deaf in their hearts. Thanks for flagging the sad ones. Health and Happiness to You, Stylistic. Estou sentindo muito pela sua partida, triste, mas tenho a certeza que sua missão no plano fisico, foi devidamente conduzida, realizada e eternecida pelo abrangente Amor universal com a qual Ele sempre se entregou. This was just before he began to lose his ability to focus on instruments and remain musical...we lost a great with Maurice. He was a guiding light from 1970 until he died...and he knew he was on his way out, I'm sure.

I have seen EWF at least once in the last 5 decades. I miss Maurice too, but Verdine, Phillip and Ralph are still killing it onstage.
