    Excellent video, very appropriate for educational activities. At the time of connecting the lamps to have the white background do not stand out enough, but it is still excellent

    Great ! ! ! This is a classic ! ! ! Mozart - Serenade No. 13 for Strings in G major, K. 525 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik'. Had the pleasure to listen to music. At the same time looked classic electric experiment - Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta. Classic lives forever - and probably involved in the classics like - Electric Experiments Roobert33!

      you need new zinc plates or better use aluminium it generates more voltace

      Indefinitely...your task once built is too constantly supply the separator salt soaked cloth/cardboard layer 24/7...as long as that part is saturated with salt water or any electrolyte like vinegar whatever...the metal may get tarnished which may be worth a clean once a fortnight but will still work when tarnished

    Could you please explain how you made voltage increase after connecting second pair of clips at around 3:25? Did you connect second battery in series?

    why would you film the last part with the lights on, on a white table? Would have been 1000x better with the lights dimmed or with a better background. Experiment was very cool though

    You take some of these, and some of those. Stack this one first then put on of these scrubby pads, then a dark metal piece then I guess a COPPER piece then another scrubby pad ( with dirty dish water I think ) then another dark metal

      The pads could be cotton that part is a less important than the liquid. That is a combination of salt, vinegar and maybe something else to help move the molecules.

    • @jshaw4757
      @jshaw4757 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @j3shep You want too use either salt or vinegar not mix them as will cancel each other into a neutral PH use either an acid or an alkaline as higher n lower pH but when mix it ends up neutral...

    This is great. I built a pile and would love to power something more than an LED. Is there any way to power something like a small motor or light bulb without applying the external charge. Would more disks do it?

    great video I didn't know the invention was so simple.. I could have made this in the 1700s! If we take the whole apparatus and immersed it in salt water bottle we can get only 1 volt but at much higher amps??

    • @ElectricExperimentsRobert33
      @ElectricExperimentsRobert33  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      fidel catsro If we put all the apparatus in a bottle with salt water the result will be 0 volts. Each cell must be separated from each other :)

      You've seen the battery was charged up to approx. 28 V. Both Bulbs have 14 V by 5 W and are connected in series ... so you have all in all 10 W. Now you can use the Formula for electrical Power P = U * I => I = P / U
      I = 10 W / 28 V = 0,357 A (or for Members of the imperial number system: 0.357 A)

    I would like to build one myself, if i can purchase the casing already prebuilt, and i can cut the copper.What is the other material the "sponge" and the grey metal? what if you didnt put it in that pattern would there still have been current?

      THe grey metal was zinc and the sponge thing that you are saying was a Cotton-paper treated with table salt and water solution but you can still use a normal paper

    what about building a lithium battery the same way.

    • @kathybalistreri
      @kathybalistreri 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      good boy lithium ion batteries use a chemical base instead of an acid. The base moves the ions instead of moving electrons (positive ions are atoms missing an electron). Anyway, you need a barrier between the two metals to keep the electrons from going straight to the positive side with the ions. However, you could probably make a voltaic battery pile with lithium and another type of metal an an acid this way. It just wouldn't work as well as the one in your phone. 😉

    ไอเดีย ดี แต่ ปัญหาสำคัญ คือ แอมป์ กับ (Electrolyte) อีเล็กโทรไลค์ )ต้องได้แอมป์ที่สูงพอ (อย่างน้อย 2.5 A ขึ้นไป)และ การจ่ายไฟต้องได้คงที่ยาวนาน ด้วย สำคัญอีเล็กโทรไลต์ ชนิดใด และง่ายที่สุด ราคาถูกที่สุด กับการทำแบบโฮมเมด ส่วนมากสักพักก็ไฟดร็อป ลดลงอย่างรวดเร็ว ส่วนค่า โวลต์จัดการได้ง่ายไม่ยาก

    you could use any two metals that are different electrolytic wise , say even zinc washers and aluminum washers etc, not sure where to look up the metals electric potential but best of all would be graphite and maybe magnesium. . I made a small battery from a piece of pencil lead and a zinc washer about .5 volts If i remember correctly . lemon juice electrolyte
