      Sugar Ray Leonard when he was at his APEX after the 1st Duran fight had the tools to beat ANYONE P4P, he just had to find the way during the fights, and that is HARD AS HELL to do. SRL was special. Once his speed dropped a little, yeah he was beatable then, but hell, even in the 2nd Hearns fight, he was ONE punch away from dropping Tommy through the whole fight. He was knocked down twice, but he took Hearns punches better than Hearns could take his, and that's why Hearns fought so well in that fight: He knew he couldn't get hit!!

      True that. Floyd had trouble when his opponent had a good jab. Hearns had a GREAT jab. And if Floyd comes at Hearns, he removes his own greatest asset (his Philly defense) and opens himself up to the Hearns cannonball right. Floyd would have been lucky to just survive the flight.

    You can knockout Tommy Hearns, but you cannot outbox Tommy Hearns, especially at Welter and Light Welter. I don’t think Prime Mayweather has anything for Tommy Hearns. Sugar Ray won the 1st fight against Hearns, but he was still frightened in the rematch. That’s who Tommy Hearns was.

      They fought twice? I thought so also but if you google it they only speak about the split draw but we all know SRL got the TKO in the first fight and ppl thought Hearns won the second that ended in a draw. That was one of those fights you question if the judging was for the, fighters/promotors/trainers/everyone else involved, stock or not. If you dig deeper on google you can find both fights but its like theyre purposely trying to set up these Mandela effects so ppl will question their sanity. Lol Seems that way anyhow. I mean if you type in Leonard/Hearns 1 or 2 they auotmatically go to 2. Type in how many times did they fight and it also just speaks of the second fight. Js

    • @seereeuss
      @seereeuss 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LEONARD outboxed him. Hearns was never able to hurt or daze Leonard in the way that Leonard was able to hurt and daze him at various points. Hearns had knocked out EVERYONE else before Leonard, now. So, let's not get carried away. Leonard's skill in movement, defense and punching were troubling enough to wear Hearns out every time.

    • @boxing1sport820
      @boxing1sport820 7 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      seereeuss you're fucking delusional hearns was outboxing leonard in the first fight and he was on his way to a ud until leonard realized he was losing the fight and he went for the knock out and he got it. hearns actually hurt leonard you idiot in the second fight he hurt him and dropped him and then beat him but he got robbed, even ray leonard said in a interview that hearns beat him the second time.

    • @seereeuss
      @seereeuss 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Hearns NEVER hurt Leonard in a stifling way during either bout. Leonard's boxing skills such as the defense and the movement prevented him from doing so. That is why the fitness was always there to finish Hearns off. The point you are missing is this: Hearns was ABLE to bust up the faces of Iran Barkley and Marvin Hagler before they too knocked him out. Yes, of course, Tommy and his manager would take more pride in those losses!! It is less humiliating to lose to a fighter that you, at least, did damage to. You've got to learn to understand boxing completely. The goal here in these interviews is to try to play mind games on the nemesis fighter, Leonard.

      i guess you didnt see the second time Hearns and Leonard fought, Hearns sent Leonard to the canvas twice in the fight. Hagler was a middleweight when he beat Hearns, who was junior middleweight champ. Hagler survived some brutal shots on the chin, as did Leonard.
    Both men are much bigger punchers than PBF who would be smashed by Hearns.
    Hearns did outbox him and Angelo Dundee thought so, that's why he told Leonard he was blowing it. Leonard beat Hearns by launching a do or die attack, not by outboxing him.
    Outfighting means that Hagler and Leonard drew Hearns into a brawl.

    I've felt for sometime that out of the 4 kings (Leonard, Hagler, Duran, Hearns) that HEARNS would have been the biggest problem for Mayweather. Hearns was a world class boxer who happened to possess one of the most devastating right hands in middleweight history. His most famous losses were to KO type punchers like Ray Leonard and Hagler. Mayweather NEVER had KO type power. He had the power to drop you but not KO you. Hearns had the height, reach and skills to beat Mayweather, maybe rather easily. So cool to know that the late great Manny Steward felt the same way!

    People often go to Corrales to weigh that up,but Hearns is nothing like Corrales.Other than they're both tall,Hearns would circle ⭕ and jab and using his chopping right hand he could take even a Duran level fighter out in one hit.He didn't brawl as nearly as much as Corrales did,he'd stand back and let his range do the work.But even against Ray Leonard he was out menuavering him, circling around him, using the jab,in the 2nd half of the fight.He was also ahead on points, until Ray Leonard, caught him in the 13th Rd,then Leonard took over and eventually stopped him.
    Floyd wouldn't be in the ring with any of the 4 King's,until they'd all used each other up, by actually fighting at their primes.Which is really why I can't put Floyd on their levels, even though he's a great in his own right, I've seen other fighters test themselves when it mattered.But I won't put Floyd up there,when Manny Paquiou is 3 years past his own prime and a blown up featherweight 30% on the level of a test as a 25 year old Sugar Ray Leonard.Paquiou had slowed down from where he was at when he was 28 and I still think he beat Mayweather that night.Also I absolutely 💯% know Castillo beat him when they fought.

      This comment is absurdly stupid. First things first, replace “they” with “their”. But more importantly you mentioned Mosley and De la Hoya, but what you failed to acknowledge is the age and weight class differences when they were in their twenties. De la Hoya was the cash cow of boxing and he was thinking about Floyd he was younger at a much smaller weight class at the time. The same for Mosley. Just think Oscar was the ‘92 Olympic gold medalist. Floyd fought in the ‘96 Olympics. As far as Pacquiao and Floyd fighting in their twenties could of never happened. When Floyd was dominating at 140, Manny was in a much smaller weight class. He wasn’t until Manny went to 147 when people started to ask about the fight happening. It took too long for them to finally fight, but Floyd is older than Manny and still dominated him. Floyd made easy work of Cotto too.

Others like Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Ray Robinson, Terry Norris, Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor, Julio Caesar, Roberto Duran, Salvador Sanchez, DEFINITELY Julian Jackson, he would wouldn’t last. Fighters PERIOD in this era couldn’t hang with fighters of the 1970’s- early 1990’s fighters!!!! They were far hungrier, better trained, and fought tougher opposition!!!!

    In my opinion now, i'm an avid boxing watcher and big time fan, but Thomas "HITMAN" Hearns would definetly beat Mayweather, also back in those days nobody DUCKED any fighters, today they make fighters fight nobody's first so they can have an undefeated record then they will actually have about 4 or 5 times that they will fight other great fighters, but my opinion Floyd Mayweather has beaten alot of great fighters but only fought them when they were on the downside of there career, so i guess he's going to wait until Pacman and others are 40 years of age before he actually fights him, Mayweather is a good boxer no doubt and defensively one of the best, but Leonard,Hagler,Duran,Hearns,Chavez,etc all in their prime would have beat Mayweather, once mayweather is retired if he doesnt fight Pacman and couple of other greats, he will fade and nobody will remember him, we still talk about all the other great fighters not him. I would be willing to drop in weight and fight mayweather and show the world that i would knock him out. where are all the great fighters who arent scared to get in the ring with anyone despite if they win or lose? I refuse to pay for any mayweather fight unless its Manny Pacquiao

    • @chrisstfort7
      @chrisstfort7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) Pacquiao is 36, Floyd is 38, and the fight is now on so there should be no excuses on May 3.
      2) Your point on Floyd only fighting guys on their downside is somewhat true, but most of it wasn't his fault (ealier in his career). For example, he called out Mosley when Mosley was 33 in his prime. He called out Oscar back in 1999 and throughout the early 2000s. He called out guys like Kostya Tyszu, Prince Naseem, Casamayor, etc. These guys didn't want none. If you want to comment on Floyd ducking then do the research and then comment. TH-cam "Floyd calling out fighters", and then comment.

    • @chrisstfort7
      @chrisstfort7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      3) When Floyd did fight these guys they were still a threat. Mosley was deemed old but had just KOd Margarito (and no one ever has) and was the #1 Welterweight. Pacquiao even DUCKED this version of Mosley who Floyd went on to fight. More evidence: TH-cam "Mayweather vs Mosley Pacquiao exposed", watch the video from 6:45-8:00. Freddie Roach explains why Pacquiao wants to duck Mosley lol I'm not making this up. Like I said in my other post do the research and then comment. Be knowledgeable and then comment. Floyd has a plethora of flaws and he does shit that pisses me the fuck off, but do not for a second believe everything the media tells you because it's a lie.
      4) Floyd fought Oscar at 154, in Floyd first trip to the weight class, agreed to ALL of Oscars terms (bigger gloves, smaller ring, purse, ref, etc), biggest stage of his career at that point and still came out victorious. Floyd fought Miguel Cotto at 154, immediately following Cotto beating Margarito and gaining back lost confidence from the first fight. Floyd handed Hatton his first defeat. Diego Corrales was undefeated, 33-0 27KO, #1 in the division #5 p4p when Floyd faced him and Floyd dismantled him. Canelo Alvarez at 152 lbs defeats every welterweight in the world right now (name one welterweight that can beat Canelo), and Floyd made him look silly. Floyd beat Marquez every rd, and Marquez himself said Floyd would have beaten him at any weight. Many people bring up Castillo and say he beat Floyd, but again it was Floyd first trip to that weight class and in his first trip fought for the title with no catchweight and even rematched a guy he supposedly lost to and dominated the rematch. I can go on and on but first please watch those videos and then reply.

    Why do people call Tyson a small heavyweight? Yeah, he was short for a heavyweight, so what? He was almost 6 ft and toned at 220 pounds. That’s a decent-sized heavyweight.
    Heck, George Foreman was 220 pounds when he was knocking out top heavyweights left and right in the 1970s.
    A 5’11 220 pound heavyweight would probably be stronger, with thicker muscles, than a string bean 6’6 220 pound heavyweight, with Deontay Wilder being the rare exception.

He´d have to knock Hearns out and at 147 and 154 Hearns had a solid chin and floyd don´t have the power to hurt Hearns like Leonard had. hearns by wide decision IMO. Tyson´s biggest flaw was his heart, when guys weren´t intimidated by him he´d question himself and if Bonecrusher Smith, Mitch Green goes 12 Ali goes 12 and wins a wide UD. Could end earlier though maybe ali by tko late.

And come on Foreman was nothin but a head hunter. He was slow and was a mummy. It can be argued that Tyson his almost as hard as foreman and shavers if not the same. If Hearns didn't have to be concerned about your punch, you were toast! Still, having a punch only gave that fighter a shaht, because you had to get him before he got you! Floyd had a better punch in his prime than he did later, but he had no way to deliver it on the much longer Hearns nor could he get his jabs off! Tommy would dominate and KO him(if Floyd didn't just cover up to prevent this)!
    I figure that AIi busts Tyson up and that he'd be way easier to hit than Frazier. Mike protected his chin with his gloves, left his eyes completely exposed to be hit, and his Rocky Balboa crouch was easier to hit than Frazier's style! AIi's precision accuracy and timing was the best of all time! Tyson also loss a lot of power after the halfway point--if he actually tried to KO you and that did not happen! The reason Frazier could go late in the fight with AIi was that Joe had the stamina to do it, did not cut until very late in a 15 round fight at the very least, and AIi could not punch like Foreman or Bonavena!
    Frazier also had KO power from beginning to end--Tyson did not! Tyson also did horrible against opponents that had some kind of boxing ability; they were not like as accurate, fast, or defensive as AIi would be, either! Frazier was a much better AIi opponent than Tyson would be!
