Haahh, iç çeke çeke dinledim... Gymnopedie, this piece makes addicted to listen.. over and over again. I love all version of it~ Such a haunted melody it has.
Your performance is well done however, the uptempo is wrong (for me) ..it eliminates the time needed to meditate on the beautiful notes of this exquisitely beautiful piece. I find it like someone trying to change the smile of the Mona Lisa.....don't.
Calvin, A complete new arrangement? I strongly disagree that they are trying to do a new song. Every place Satie changes his chords, so does this group. They are right on his melody. What they have done is just uptempoed his creation. They are talented but what they have done is just a repeat of his works, not something new.
The best time to listen to this masterpiece is on a Sunday morning very beautiful and peaceful. I love this tune
Yeah, but then you switch to moonlight sonata because you realize you have to go to work tomorrow.
Stunning arrangement! So relaxing... with my right foot tapping spontaneously.
Wow! I think Satie would be very pleased. I am!

it's not meant to be the same song, they are creating a complete new arrangement based on the erik satie

they improvised licks, and they all did a improvised solo, just like john coltrane with his 'my favorite things' , it's his arrangement of the song
It's about fitting the melody to the swing, I like how theyhv done it
You obviously don't like jazz... which of course is something totally worth of respect, why not.
