unlike opera, subglottal pressure is so overlooked in pop music… you need to keep the breath under the folds in order to sing with a healthy closure.

Dumb question..does shaking your head easily or rolling it keep your neck and throat loose? I find myself doing this to...keep things free?? I Don't know..awesome rug BTW.

Thanks! And gently mobilizing the neck, shoulders and/or jaw can be helpful. …works better for some than for others. But, for as long as you find it useful, I say use it 👍🏽

Professional actor and vocalist here. WHY have my vocal and speech coaches always preached about ”singing from the stomach”?!

Because we’re all taught that it’s “the way” from the time we’re too young to question anything 🤷🏽‍♂️. lol. I used to teach it too. I graduated from college, at the top of my class, believing my diaphragm was in my belly 🥴. We singers get brainwashed early 🥲. Seriously tho… To be fair, your abdominal muscles are in fact an integral part of the process; but, when overemphasized, excess abdominal effort causes vocal restrictions & imbalances and possibly even injury 😌👉🏽 th-cam.com/video/wQrKrWxt_nc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6Xl31QcJ1FoUKGYT

Hi Eric, having squeezed solar plexus is good for throat? Is it a part of anchoring from pelvic floor? Thanks
