At first I suppose they're water turbines which actually move the gate, but later I realized they're just verification mechanism that'll only activate after being flushed by a firefighting nozzle for a certain period of time. This ensures that they can only be activated during emergency by firefighters. Thieves can neither trigger them without being noticed (Just imagine one shooting water into the device with a huge hydrant nozzle, making a lot of noise and getting everywhere wet - he'll certainly get everyone's attention) nor pick them with brute force. A perfect balance between life safety and property security. (Wondering if these unlockers can be activated by applying air pressure to the port, which is easy to be performed by thieves with help of a bicycle tyre pump or a portable CO2 cylinder. If so, there ought to be a bugfix on the next generation of product.)
