Easy answer. I’d get the Lite+ due to newer tech and resale value. Actually the Lite+ has an amazing photo high res camera. Is the update not available everywhere? I’m in the US (New York State) and my Evo Lite + is not showing an update when I fire it up. There’s nothing on the Autel site, either…..🤔
@@Matanumi With the latest update, I promise you, its on par with the mini 2 , or better, autel did some magic with this update. it's just what the doctor ordered.
I recently had my original Autel Evo repaired and it flew like a new one once it arrived back to me. I felt like I had to email and push a little but I’m impatient by nature.
I have a Mavic 2 and Mavic Mini 2, the Mavic 2 over heats above 92°F, sometimes, so I purchased the Mini 2. Your video on the Mini 3 Pro shows an over heating problem, does the AUTEL EVO NANO have heat issues? Thanks!
For me, the picture quality is the most important. This Autel Nano has good video quality. I'm waiting to buy until the captain assesses the new DJI Mini 3, because it comes with a controller with an integrated monitor (I prefer my small clamshell phone for making calls on the go).
It is great to see the updates, but it sucks to buy anything that does not do what the features list says it does when you pay for it. Like buying an F150 with 4x4 but having to wait for months and months for Ford to update the firmware to make the damn button work, only to find out that its only 4x3 and some future update will enable the 4th wheel......However that rear locker? Someday.
I’m guessing you were not one of the thousands that purchased the DJI MAVIC 3 and received an unfinished drone, that is still unfinished. This is how companies operate around the Christmas buying season.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 No, I have my basic and was all set to buy a drone for spring., However due to the fact no drone released in the last year is anywhere near full functional and prices went through the 400m limit I decided to buy a new Lowrance fishfinder/scan sonar for my boat. Half price, saved a bundle. Maybe next year.
Hey Steve, thanks for your great updates on drones in general. Being the owner of the "pumpkin" (retired that 1 now) and the Evo 1, I have enjoyed the Support from the Autel team over the past few years after having a terrible experience with DJI prior to moving over to Autel. Sadly just last week, a faulty battery caused my Evo 1 to fall out of the sky causing major damage to both the gimbal and camera. Although the E1 still flies, it's not much use without the camera so now I am looking to replace the E1. I have watched a few reviews on the mini3 pro and it looks great but I have time and will sit back and see what issues owners find with it before I decide which drone I buy next. Droning is such an expensive hobby really, I now have 4 batteries and filters and a controller in mint condition which will become paperweights.
Looks like they had to rush the improvements in time for Mini 3 release. I returned Nano+ out of disappointment and getting the Mini 3 now, no regrets!
How do people return a drone? This does not exist in most of the world. Drones are normally non-returnable unless proven to be defective in a certain time period.
I was disappointed with the Nano+ when I first got it. I definitely could feel the upgrade from my Mini 1 I had been using. But it really just felt unfinished... which it was. I'm glad to see Autel supporting it and continuing to improve it. I am much much happier with it now. It's not perfect but I do feel the improvement.
😃Exceptional review as always. I think you should have another channel called " How to become a successful reviewer". Then just post all your prior videos on it. There are some great reviewers out there, but in my opinion no where close to you. Thanks Cap!!
That was something cool, of which I was unaware of! Autel's new update is awesome with all the new features added to these drones! Autel EVO Lite? Didn't knew that it existed but the Lite+! Those portrait modes and bug fixes surely made everything more fun and better! Hyperlapse is also an amazing feature ofcourse, as it adds the cinematic timelapse kind of feel! I also like the front and rear obstacle avoidance of these Autel drones, as it works very nicely in tracking and following! Autel EVO Lite has the camera rolling feature?! That seemed fantastic and also made my head spin! Lol Btw, that was cool, indeed. 19:21 That looked superb when the Nano+ just went with full speed to cross the obstacle! And then at 19:27 lol That was too funny Nano+ handeled the situation nicely by not crashing into the roof or wall! The flights of all 3 of them, also the Autel EVO Lite+ ofcourse was beautiful! Looking forward for your review video on Mini 3 Pro soon, as it will be officially here in 5 hours!
Almost no one speaks about Lite, except 6k and variable aperture all pros versus Lite+ goes for Lite version (vertical, ryyb for night, megapixels, price...) That's why I would looove to see comparison between those two during the night

How much weight can the evo lite lift without a propellers spinning too fast warning? I want to put a 360 camera below it but i'm not sure if I can. Also do the 360 sphere pics have coordinates embedded? I have a 360 of tres rios wetlands on google maps with thousands of views from a mini 2 & as i turn the phone the view turns so obviously dji adds coordinates to sphere pics but do these drones? Mini 2 is not high enough resolution but im afraid to get this if there's no coordinates embedded.
No idea on how much it can lift, but as per any GPS Camera drone made for consumers, they are not designed to lift more than their current weight and fly well.
They took off the ability to turn on the flashing strobe light and also the only mode you cant control the camera settings is AEB mode. Of course the only one I use.
When you say DJI, it depends on the drone. Not all DJI drones have the same type of obstacle avoidance. The Autel EVO Lite+ and Lite currently can follow humans and avoid objects in doing so.
What would you recommend for someone who wants to use it taking aerial photography & videography for residential and commercial Landscaping projects. I've been looking at the Autel Evo Nano + & DJI Mini 2, and DJI Mini 3. Tough to pull the trigger! Any help is appreciated!
If you are just doing simple shots (i.e., toss the drone up and take a photo) then any drone is fine. If you have the budget for a Nano+ or Mini 3 Pro, then those are the ones to get for the long term. Keep in mind that these are all basic beginner drones and nothing professional and designed for the beginner that has no drone knowledge or camera knowledge and wants to toss a drone up and start filming or taking photos.
10:44 You were saying that there’s a vertical icon, I just purchased Autel vertical stand so I can really maximize the portrait view. The weird thing is the vertical is not showing up. Any advice? Thank you for really demonstrating what the Lite Plus can really do.

I have the same drone and I am currently mastering it)) I always have Pro mode on (bottom right, yellow symbol) and I can't switch to Auto. Please tell me how to switch from Pro mode to Auto? I would be very grateful!
I would take out a piece of paper and write down what you plan to use your drone for, and then look at each drone and get the one with the features for you. I have not yet reveiwed the MINI 3 PRO so I really can't comment on it.
Very nice video.. autel seems to really put a lot of features / gimmicks on their drones... they have caught my interest. I am hesitant to purchase any new drones until i start hearing some feed back from all these companies until they address the the new FAA remote ID requirement ... I have heard nothing from Autel, DJI or Yuneec. Are they just going to ignore this until the very last minute or just leave it up to the consumer???
Mastershots are a DJI thing for beginners. DJI adds many many software items that are all aimed at beginners to make the product of interest. Autel would have to copy that in order for the NANO to have it.
@@WiljanWiljan DJI, like all camera drone companies, includes features that permit people with little drone experience to capture shots they could never do on their own. Such features are great for when on vacation and you wish to send friends social media posts.

Hi there, I really love your reviews and videos. One thing what I believe it will be of big interest is lite/lite+ comparison in night modes, super night especially. They have different type of sensors and I believe lite will perform much better couse ryyb, 40% morr light n bla bla... Please, can You show it to us? Big respect for your knowledge & work 💪👍
This will help me decide which one to buy I think the lite plus because of the bigger sensor more light getting in but if Captain Drone compares them side by side we will know before buying.
in track mode does the avoidance system turn off or is it just my drone. because mine lost me and flew madlly arround then ended in a tree which I had to climb to get it back.Big fail on follow mode
The avoidance remains on but you can turn it off. The sensors are only FRONT and REAR so if you fly into a tree sideways, that is something the drone can't avoid.
As a Photographer it really baffles me why AEB is still only available in full auto mode. It is more of a pro feature than their advertised use of it as an exposure stacker, isn't that what HDR setting is for?. I do a lot of 360 panos and a rule of thumb is fixed exposure/focus/color balance and AEB for all images. As this is not possible on the lite+ I have to keep using my Mavic 2 until they get round to integrating AEB in all modes. Even with normal photography I cant use AEB with any aperture other than 2.8 as this is the default on auto, even setting a fixed color balance blocks AEB.
AEB is great for people that no how to use editing software and adjust everything to produce an image. I think this is why it is not as popular on drones made for the beginner type user. Certainly some drones with average to below average cameras have it (many from DJI) but it is more of a gimmick. I do agree the Autel drones should have it as the cameras are very good. Perhaps Autel thinks HDR is best as it uses a similar concept.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for the quick reply, I don't think of it as a gimmick as it can save an image when auto exposure over compensates, you always have a backup image. Even shooting raw it gives an ability for a more perfect exposure. My main concern is why it is there but restricted to one mode, the coding cant be that complex to have it available in all modes? I forgot to say before that I find your channel one of the best review channels out there and I actual bought a Nano and Lite + after watching your reviews. I am waiting/hoping for the AEB mode as I will be able to move over completely once it is available.
If you’re going to use hyperbole I would’ve went with 100, 50 kind of implies only half as better!😳 DJI needs to put you back on the reviewer pre-release list. If AUTEL can’t compete on price with DJI they need to come out with superior software on their drones. Optical resolution is hard to sell when most people view everything on their phones.🤦🏻♂️
I'm a user of evo lite+, unfortunately in evo lite+ there is no vertical mode. Though this is very good when I want to share the video directly without editing it to instagram or tiktok, and when I edit the resolution, it becomes a little broken on the video
Thanks for making this... I wouldn't have known there was an update to the software. Would you agree that Autel is still playing under the shadow of DJI? I am still upset that the released a drone with some legacy designed remote, a price that's not very competitive. I think Autel could easily shift itself from the shadow of DJI and really be the easy choice for new drone buyers as well as for upgrades. BTW, the camera department is doing a good job, except the drone body design and of course the controller folks needs a whipping to get them to wake up. Consider the feature set optimized for DJI Mini 3 and you'd see how it is pretty easy for someone to buy a DJI Mini 3 Pro. Your thoughts.... and how do we wake up AUTEL? lol... it's me being cheesy!!
DJI is fully international and Autel is not, so Autel will always be considered ‘that other drone company’ that people go to when they get fed up with DJI.
Thanks for the video, have enjoyed your videos, very informative! Looks like the new "shoot" mode doesn't allow full manual camera settings adjustments. Once you adjusted the iso, shutter speed adjusted to compensate, same with the aperture going from 2.8 to 8, the shutter changed. It's what I have experienced before watching your video also and was hoping there is a way for full manual adjustments. Before the update I had full manual control. Am I mistaking or missing something?
You have to turn Auto off on all camera settings I believe. If you remove Auto on the ISO for example & leave Auto on the other camera settings, then they compensate.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I went in and made changes to all 3 exposure settings and it held settings. Seems like I have full manual control again. I am very easy going as long as everything goes my way ;-) Thanks again for your videos and responding to my question 🙂

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you for the reply. I reached out via email and they replied with a link to their short videos, and files you can print. My first flight the gimbal keeps initializing.
@@ronaldmodesett8579 Your gimbal will initialize only once after you power it on and don’t touch or move it. If the drone moves it will keep initializing. So it initializes once upon power up, then again when you land. If it keeps doing it non-stop then it means the camera gimbal may be caught on something or has become damaged or your firmware is incorrect.

Ok, maybe my question would be better suited for people in the drone community. I want a 4k TV that is besf for viewing drone footage and i mostly shoot in countryside where there's lots of rocks & foilage. Right now i have QLED & has ok details, but now I'm leaning towards an OLED. Would an OLED offer more details in rocks & foliage?
Can you PLEASE show us more of the Lite (non-plus)? Thanks again for your great videos!
I asked AUTEL if I could and they told me to hold off until the launch which is coming up at a specified date that I can't say.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Fair enough, looking forward to that day, :-)
Is the update not available everywhere? I’m in the US (New York State) and my Evo Lite + is not showing an update when I fire it up. There’s nothing on the Autel site, either…..🤔
You need the latest App… get your phone to download it
I'm very eager to see how well the tracking works at higher speeds.
Great update. I’m seriously thinking about the Nano+ as a back-up. The video, in particular, seems excellent.
Yeah man me too but that price.....
And the quad flight characteristics just not as good
@@Matanumi The quality of the video matters most to me.
The RYYB sensor delivers outstanding imagery Rob.
And it appears the issue of it flying in strong winds has been resolved.
@@Matanumi With the latest update, I promise you, its on par with the mini 2 , or better, autel did some magic with this update. it's just what the doctor ordered.
@@ozstrayapanoramas8610 I can say the wind problems have been resolved, I don't think my mini 2 can hang with it now
How is customer service ratings? If there is a problem with the drone how easy or difficult is it to get prompt service living in the USA??
Autel has an HQ in the USA for that purpose
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thank you Captain!
I recently had my original Autel Evo repaired and it flew like a new one once it arrived back to me. I felt like I had to email and push a little but I’m impatient by nature.
Thank you for this, very interesting. Do you know if the released version, or this one, will track vehicles or is it only people?
As of today, only humans. In the future, it will track everything (that is what I’m told).
hey thanks for the other day. bought the lite+ immediately after that. the camera is really good.
Great to hear!
I enjoy watching your instructional videos every time, but nothing seems to have been updated recently?
I produce 3 videos per week per year, so that is 156 videos per year.
Thank you for all your hard work, I always look forward for your reviews...
Thank you for that
I have a Mavic 2 and Mavic Mini 2, the Mavic 2 over heats above 92°F, sometimes, so I purchased the Mini 2. Your video on the Mini 3 Pro shows an over heating problem, does the AUTEL EVO NANO have heat issues? Thanks!
The NANO+ has a fan in it to stop overheating. It reduces the video transmitter when on the ground.
For me, the picture quality is the most important. This Autel Nano has good video quality. I'm waiting to buy until the captain assesses the new DJI Mini 3, because it comes with a controller with an integrated monitor (I prefer my small clamshell phone for making calls on the go).
Capt Drone fantastic information on all your Drones on your channel it's much appreciated hi from Ireland
Thank you
Thank you Captain Drone for another great video.
I need a hubsan zino pro plus drone from you...
Selalu Mantap.....mr.captain..... Pingin punya drone evo... tapi aku belum bisa beli.....?
Do you sell your Captain Drone stickers ? I’d like a few if you do. One for the drone and one on the case. Thanks
Not at this time. Perhaps in the future.
Great video as always Steve. Looking forward to your Mini 3 video. 👍
I’ll have to order one like everyone else so it may take a bit to arrive.
Sell those you can make money in the parts you can't use
Many who purchased the DJI MAVIC 3 felt the same way. This seems to be how companies operate when they push a product around the Christmas season.
Request compare Autel nano+ vs dji mavic mini 3 bro... Thanks
Yes, that camera video comparison is coming.
😃Exceptional review as always. I think you should have another channel called " How to become a successful reviewer". Then just post all your prior videos on it. There are some great reviewers out there, but in my opinion no where close to you. Thanks Cap!!
How about a comparison/review of Autel Evo II Pro vs Mavic 3 Classic
Lol
Btw, that was cool, indeed.
19:21
That looked superb when the Nano+ just went with full speed to cross the obstacle!
And then at 19:27 lol
That was too funny
Nano+ handeled the situation nicely by not crashing into the roof or wall!
The flights of all 3 of them, also the Autel EVO Lite+ ofcourse was beautiful!
Looking forward for your review video on Mini 3 Pro soon, as it will be officially here in 5 hours!
Almost no one speaks about Lite, except 6k and variable aperture all pros versus Lite+ goes for Lite version (vertical, ryyb for night, megapixels, price...)
That's why I would looove to see comparison between those two during the night
I agree completely that will be the deciding factor for my purchase choice.
Great video friends, I have been trying to buy the lite for a long time, with no luck lol. I didn't know it had a night mode. Could u please do a night video on, it, I'm going to buy this drone as soon as they release it, thanks for sharing this video.
Yes, I’ll show it in a future video

Great video thank you for sharing all the new updates. I was in the market for a fimi x8se but now I'm interested in these. Which would you choose captain Sir.
Excellent Tutorial Review Video On The Autel Drones! I'm A Photographer Too. Which One Is Your Favorite? You Are Amazing Steve! Thank You!
The Lite with its outstanding RYYB sensor on a medium sized drone is the ultimate, but dammm, its not available at the moment.
So far, out of the Mini drones, the Nano+ has the best camera for video. If you want the best photos (high resolution) then the best is the EVO Lite+
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 yes, I would agree with that analogy
Is autel OA can flyby like dji or stop when there's obstacles? Just confused between lite plus and air2s in terms of OA. Thanks..
When you say DJI, it depends on the drone. Not all DJI drones have the same type of obstacle avoidance. The Autel EVO Lite+ and Lite currently can follow humans and avoid objects in doing so.
Nice video Steve, I enjoyed watching it.
Thank you
Video quality is incredible, another great video Steve, regards Barry Spain 🇪🇸
Thanks 👍
Well, I was "sold" until I saw review on Nano+ Dynamic Tracking, this decision is driving me crazy 😩
cant wait for your take on the dji moni 3 pro
CD, please clarify Evo lite+ has 6k, much more better camera, DT but NO vertical shooting? The Evo Lite has 4K camera, vertical shooting and DT?
Unfortunately my cheap drone often also has vertical mode.
Ha ha ;-)
Thank you. Is this appropriate for a beginner?
Yes. All GPS Drones are perfect for beginners because the drone just sits in the air waiting for your next command.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks!
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I went with the Mini 3 Pro. Should be just fine for what I need. Thank you.
10:44 You were saying that there’s a vertical icon, I just purchased Autel vertical stand so I can really maximize the portrait view. The weird thing is the vertical is not showing up. Any advice? Thank you for really demonstrating what the Lite Plus can really do.
Vertical is for the AUTEL EVO LITE only
Too little too late. What Autel needs to update is the price on the nano+. Right now it's $200 too high.
Hello dear friend! I watched your video reviews about Autel Evo Light Plus with great interest. I have the same drone and I am currently mastering it)) I always have Pro mode on (bottom right, yellow symbol) and I can't switch to Auto. Please tell me how to switch from Pro mode to Auto? I would be very grateful!
@captain drone should I get the Autel Lite+ or Mavic 3? I am looking for longer real-world flight time and range.
I would take out a piece of paper and write down what you plan to use your drone for, and then look at each drone and get the one with the features for you. I have not yet reveiwed the MINI 3 PRO so I really can't comment on it.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 oh not the mini 3 pro 😅 the Mavic 3
@@rezzzasmr Oh sorry. The MAVIC 3 is a better drone than the LITE+. But when you compare prices, the LITE+ is a much better deal for what you get.
Great video! why does the Nano plus not include Mastershots like the Mini 3?
Mastershots are a DJI thing for beginners. DJI adds many many software items that are all aimed at beginners to make the product of interest. Autel would have to copy that in order for the NANO to have it.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 well mastershots are extremely nice and easy.
@@WiljanWiljan DJI, like all camera drone companies, includes features that permit people with little drone experience to capture shots they could never do on their own. Such features are great for when on vacation and you wish to send friends social media posts.
They are adding some good function, but after how many months of taking people's money?
Hey Cap, have you had any issues with the Nano+ and obstacle avoidance when looking into the sun or golden hours? Thanks!
The NANO+ has not received the final version of avoidance. The BETA version does indeed have issues with the sun being low in the horizon.
excellent review captain

That should be later this month. I’m waiting for Autel to release its tracking update.

Big respect for your knowledge & work 💪👍
U read my mind. I also think the lite my out perform the lite plus at night, with that night mode.
This will help me decide which one to buy I think the lite plus because of the bigger sensor more light getting in but if Captain Drone compares them side by side we will know before buying.
@@harrybainjr7118 Yes sir exactly
in track mode does the avoidance system turn off or is it just my drone. because mine lost me and flew madlly arround then ended in a tree which I had to climb to get it back.Big fail on follow mode
The avoidance remains on but you can turn it off. The sensors are only FRONT and REAR so if you fly into a tree sideways, that is something the drone can't avoid.
As always a perfect demonstration with very good information as always.😀👍> 9,000 views after just 1 day are a clear language.
Thank you
Has Autel said anything about adding mission planning to the Nano+ at some point?
Yes. They said they are not going to add it.
Nice Rotor Riot Tshirt
Too bad the message below says its not you
As a Photographer it really baffles me why AEB is still only available in full auto mode.
Another Great video mate thanks for all your hard work 👍
Thank you
nice drones and features... timelap stabilisation did not seem perfect... if its improved, did not want to se before :)))
You mean Hyperlapse. For the amount of wind happening, it did really well.
Nice information thanks for looking out
I'm a user of evo lite+, unfortunately in evo lite+ there is no vertical mode. Though this is very good when I want to share the video directly without editing it to instagram or tiktok, and when I edit the resolution, it becomes a little broken on the video
Hello,
Do you know if there is a LiDAR payload for the autel?
No LIDAR on AUTEL drones.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you, will give it a try.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I went in and made changes to all 3 exposure settings and it held settings. Seems like I have full manual control again. I am very easy going as long as everything goes my way ;-) Thanks again for your videos and responding to my question 🙂
Liking the drones!
docs that come with the evo nano are lacking, is there some place to get docs that detail what to do befor you fly, other than charge the batteries. this my first GPS drone.
You can check on the AUTEL website to see if there is a manual. Also there are usually lots of FIRST FLIGHT DRONE videos on TH-cam.
Have a good week
