  • Read the book THE GIRLS WHO WENT AWAY: THE HIDDEN STORY OF WOMEN WHO SURRENDERED CHILDREN FOR ADOPTION IN THE DECADES BEFORE ROE V. WADE
    by Ann Fessler: amzn.to/3esGmYj
First Mother Laura grew up in the closed era of adoption history. She shares her story of loss, relinquishment, and the memories of being sent away. A first mother's story you have not heard.
In honor of National Adoption Awareness Month, we need to know what happened to women before Roe v. Wade. They did not have a choice to keep their babies like women do today, they were forced, coerced, and told they were not fit to be mothers.
Listen as Laura so eloquently shares her truth, and still, today wishes she could turn back time and make the world a better place for women and children.

This happened to my father and his teenage girlfriend in 1967. This happened to so many women of this generation, I still have yet to find out what happened to my brother 💜

I was a baby born/adopted in 1965. I was able to find my birth mom (and father) 10 years ago along with five half siblings. I also encourage you to do a test. I would have been super excited to have someone look for me. Just keep in mind, there is a chance he wasn't told he was adopted and there are all different responses. Blessings to you!

I was fully self sufficient and able to support my son at 18 but because I went for help it was the adoption agencies only objective to get my baby adopted by strangers!

Hi Donald! Thank you for sharing. Can you possibly have an open adoption? Check out the work I do to help families stay connected to the child's birth family: bit.ly/2Z7GMxA

      Adoption is a lucrative business.
