My other favorites of Cohen's are: Slow Dance Me to the End of Love If It Be Your Will You Want It Darker Hallelujah (his recorded version with 2 different stanzas at the end) A little trivia- Cohen wrote ~80 stanzas for his song "Hallelujah".

How can anyone deny the rare essence of this unadulterated love song. If we were half as good at proclaiming love, we would achieve that full and fair, life long, unbreakable loving link with that person we truly love.
True and loyal love is more than just proclamations of love. That is important, yes, and necessary. But it is the day-to-day, steadfast loyal presence and actions that ultimately achieve that “unbreakable loving link.” In this song, it appears “the man” did not keep promises he made to his love, perhaps he even left her, and now he’s saying (or singing) that he will do ANYTHING to get her back. Again, these are his words … his proclamations, if you will. But he must act on them, he must prove himself - that is, IF she decides to accept him and take him back again.
