    Answering the question “How would you describe your skin in your 20s & 30s.?” I had oily skin and acne all the way through my 50s. Now I’ve got acne-free dryer skin & some wrinkles, which is an improvement. I’ll take soft matte or satin finishes over dewy or glowy any day because the last thing I need is to emphasize my lines and texture. Supposedly, according to some beauty influencers, matte skin will be the next makeup trend but women need to stick with whatever look most flatters them and their skin type. I thought the Flower Beauty product made your skin look the smoothest.

      Hi, Carol--Isn't it amazing how our skin changes over time? Satin finishes can indeed be lovely. What's wonderful about makeup is that there are so many options so we can definitely find what will flatter each of us the most--which, as you say, is by far the most important thing! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Have a wonderful weekend.

    Thanks for the video and glowy options! The Merit and the Tatcha are super, but I liked the Flower Beauty and the Glowtion too. Probably for me I would have several of these products on hand and depending on what I was doing that day, I would choose one or the other. Always seeking a natural glowy look! 🌹☀💕

    I thought the Tatcha was best because one thing I think about glow products is that most of the time, I don't like glow all over the face. I think it looks kind of greasy. With the Tatcha, you could put it on the high points of your cheeks, leaving the rest of your face more matte. Thanks for the video!

    Hi Elise, great video today, and i agree, the glowy skin is what i miss most (right next to the firmness, lol).
    I honestly can't decide which products produced the best glow; they all looked beautiful. I am going to give the Timeless serums a shot eventually (once I am no longer neck deep in other skin care products). And I also really like the Tatcha skin care. Very tempting!
    Re: the Halloween issue (trick or treaters vs NO trick or treaters): We live in a subdivision surrounded by lots of families with children. But every year is an unknown. Some years wr have practically no little visitors, and other years we run out of candy. So I dont know what the magic formula is.

      Hi, Johanna--The Tatcha products are really so lovely and beautifully done. Yes, I'm definitely tempted by many more of them. I do love all of those glowy products and it's so nice to have so many good options. When we were living in AZ we never new what to expect as to the number of trick or treaters but we always had some. Here, now--zero--and from what I hear from neighbors, that's pretty consistent. Ours was quiet, but lovely. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

While they lean More on the pricy side, the Quality n Finish make it Worth the price point for me, a little goes a long way n they work Beautifully with all the Foundations I’ve used them with😊♥️

    I love your informative videos. I have one quick question, and I am sure you have been asked this before. Which is your favorite foundation that you recommend for over 65 or 70 skin and using RX tretinoin at night (usually every night but since winter I have cut back to 3 times a week). I have used Estee Lauder Futurist since it came out but am tired of the sweaty look it can give at times and the slow dry down time. I have tried Georgio Armani and like it but have to use a glow primer underneath. I also have Clinique even Better, IT CC cream foundation in sample tube, IT glow moisture CC cream (which pop on for water aerobics or gym class) but still don't have it together yet. I am using Estee Lauder water glow primer and another one that is a hydrating primer. Is it best to just call it a day and use tinted moisturizer or keep trying foundations. Do you recommend the Sephora one you recently tried - I don't mind spending a good deal for a foundation if it is the bomb and I love it!! I also tried Double Wear sheer and like it but it is probably better suited for summer when us light ones get a little more color from running around from morning to night. Thank you for helping us !!!!

    • @EliseMarquamJahns
      @EliseMarquamJahns  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi, Bonnie--Foundation is indeed tricky since there are so many variables. It's important to decide if you want an SPF included, how much glow you want (matte, satin or dewy), whether you want light, medium or full coverage and what will work best if you have dry, combo or oily skin! There are so many things to consider! For fuller coverage, I'm really liking the KVD Good Apple Foundation and I've also come to love Doll 10's new serum foundation--great coverage and it feels lightweight. But, unfortunately there aren't a lot of color choices. But it's a clean beauty brand I really like. I also like the Kosas Revealer Foundation and their concealer (also a clean beauty brand). I've heard good things about the new Patrick Ta Foundation that has some glow, but unfortunately it doesn't come in a light version with a cool undertone so it won't work for me. The Sephora Foundation is amazingly good, but I do have to add some glow to it. I also really like the Charlotte Tillbury Beautiful Skin Foundation--it has beautiful glow, but because it does, it's not quite as long lasting for some people, but with my dry skin, it works for me. The foundation I reach for if I'm heading to a special event is the Armani foundation, but I definitely apply a glowy primer underneath (I love Westman Atelier's The Beautiful Skin but it's pricey) or add the Tatcha Luminous spray on top. I wish there was one easy answer to your question, but I hope this has been at least a little helpful.

      @@EliseMarquamJahns , Great suggestions and recommendations!!! I will keep trying to make the Armani foundation work with a glow primer. Always might give the Sephora, Patrick Ta or Kosas one a try. I wonder if you can order samples or get them in the store to try like at Estee Lauder counter. That's a big help! The Tatcha Luminous spray sounds great to have in your beauty case for spraying over. Gotta try that! Thanks again & Happy New Year!!

  • @boomer527

    The merit looked really nice. I tried the new Patrick Ta foundation and it has quite the glow-I'm just not sure if it tipped the scales in terms of too much glow all over vs controlling where you put the glow products on mature skin. I did return the Patrick Ta because the shade I ordered was too light and I did need to powder my entire face, however I see mature women have rated it highly, so now I'm thinking should I retry in a darker or just get some of the products you used.

I’m thinking I may try a few foundations soon. It seems every time I think of foundation, my skin decides to start flaking again, dang Tretanoin. It’s been almost two years and is still annoying.
